5 Great things and 5 Not So Great Things About the Pixel 9 Pro XL | Review 

I got the P9PXL and it's awesome! I just wish that pt. They made Gemini Advanced free for all the pixel buyers so it sets them apart from all the other Android phones.

Great video Shane! Loving my P9P. But Google does need to focus on better hardware instead of the AI stuff (which works really well if and when you need it). But we need better lense transitions and better speakers (The P9P speakers sound much better and louder than the P8P. But IPhone speakers always sound amazing whenever they're around) and we need stronger screens that also don't scratch as easily. My P8P screen broke very easily when falling off my Zooz ultra flex with a quadlock case on it about 2 weeks after receiving it on launch day! Google is getting better but they can and should do more! Especially for these high prices we're paying. What ever happened to all that affordable phone stuff they were talking about during the P5 release? ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Random question but does the pixel 9 series still have now playing?

The paint on mine feels super cheap, I've been having charging problems every since I got them. My left earbud died (was replaced but just the 1 bud), my tips tore, and they fit horribly. I wish samsung would have just stuck with the tip design on the buds 2 pro. It was superior because it let me use other eartips other than these horribly designed airpodsesque ones.

I am not a member of teampixel and paid for my phone and everything you said is perfect, absolutely exactly right. Some new features were useless, we need faster charging, amazing battery life, screen, camera .... Also I loved the old weather app, with the frog 😂

The only set back is that all thr ai stuff isnt free...i used to flex to people that at least pixels had free ai

Shane, have you tried testing the GPS performance vs. other phones? my P9PF's GPS performance is terrible compared to my OnePlus Open and iPhone 13. I used the GPS test app and it looks like it's not see nearly as many satellites and locking on to even fewer. It loses GPS signal constantly on the road. Got an RMA replacement and the new unit does the same.

My biggest gripe, and it's a dumb one for most people lol...please let us remove the search bar and weather widget if we want to. I hate that you have to use a launcher to clear up that screen space. Just let us remove it from the home screen if we want to. Also, as a Samsung lover as well I'd love to see a theme store. Sure you can update wallpapers and that's all good but having different themes, and different fonts would make me love these phones more.

With the Google 45w charger, I'm actually surprised how fast it charges.. so no complaints here... Because the battery life is so good, I usually only charge to 85-90 percent, and it gets me through the day with charge to spare..

You know, I just bought a OnePlus Open while it was $1299, and I don't like it vs my regular Galaxy S24. Returning it to Amazon. I was so excited when I got a Z Fold3 before, so much so that I convinced at least 3 other people to get one. I didn't feel the same way with the OPO, and Idk if it was going from OneUI to OxygenOS, or the camera bump making the phone super top-heavy. Oh right, Pixel 9 Pro XL looks pretty neat.

Curious if you prefer this over the 9 Pro Fold. I love what folding phones can do for multitasking but I still can't decide if the durability concerns are worth it over a slab.

The huge camera cutout is a huge turnoff. Because of the huge camera, a lot of screen space is wasted thanks to the HUGE notification bar.

Pixel 9 pro for myself don't want a bigger ohone the pixel 7a is a perfect size for me and the pixel 9pro is a buy not interested in the 9 or 9 xl infact its the 9 series tht will get me to but the watch 3 and buds pro 2

I love my P9 Pro smol edition. An upgrade to my P8 Pro in every way but battery size. My pockets thanks me.

How is the call quality? Is the speaker loud enough?

Man i really wanted to enjoy this video, but when you say things like you like the old weather app more, I cant take you serioucly. Their was no weather app before for pixel. It has widgets only. Therefore I would say a weather app unequivocally better than no weather app.

I have bought a 9 Pro XL and am coming from a S23U and even though I love the experience so far I do have to say it lags now and then when scrolling, which the S23U didn't do, and takes a longer time loading images like on Instagram.

The new Weather App, and subsequent loss of Weather Frog is criminal.

Which one would you like more ? The pixel 9 pro fold or the 9 pro xl ??

Greta video Shane ... have had my Pixel 9 PRO XL since launch...received August 21st. Totally loving it with that amazing screen and fantastic battery life. Gemini Advanced has been a sweet surprise for me as using it for recipes, summarize my unread emails, summarize a YT video, ask about what is in the video, and so many other things. Pixel studio yes having fun to create some pics and stickers which I use on whatsapp with family members! Now a hidden gem is screenshots app! Yes!! Usually when I see something interesting I screenshot to remind me something...maybe a future purchase, something to explain someone, etc...well screenshots app allows to place a comment and a reminder date! That dates rolls and I'm reminded about this screenshot and also to search for anything about screenshot I use Gemini. Also can place specific screenshots under named folders! Overall it's a very powerful app once you start using it! With charging speed surprised also how good the Google 45w charger works...damn fast!

Does the s24 ultra have the Gemini A.I. on device to use? Im curious to try it.

I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison of the smaller Pro model. To me, that is the more interesting version of the two. Any plans to review it as well?

I wish Google copied the iPhone's always-on display like Samsung did with the S24 series.
