How about mobile armours? Please give us something about those monsters, because the Heshmael would be perfect on this list! Edit: also how about top 5 darkest mobile weapons? Like the Army of Death machines or Mobile Dolls? Also, how does the Unicorn not make this list? The NT-D was unstable and hijacked the pilot emotions.
Gavin Erickson true. I wonder if Wing Zero would be able to beat the psycho gundam or dark gundam in a fight. Considering what we have seen regarding what the twin buster rifle do in gundam wing (namely being able to one-shot objects that were multiple kilometers in size) I think that Wing Zero could win since the twin buster rifle might be too much for the dark gundam’s DG cells
Gavin Erickson it’s only broken when used at full power in space, it doesn’t have the same destructive power in a single shot when fired in the atmosphere. The twin buster rifle still isn’t as broken as the moonlight butterfly
@@jakealter5504 Well yeah, the moonlight butterfly turns everything into sand and has a range from Earth to Jupiter and it's only possible counter is itself or maybe the ELS from 00.
The Heavy Gundam from the Johnny Ridden manga was a monster in itself. Biosensor, Pyscommu, magnetic coating, all that fancy but dangerous experimental stuff. At one point in the hangar, it looked like it turned it's head to look at it's pilot who was a cyber newtype and *who wasn't in the cockpit.*
NITRO is safe - though, yes, it has some psychoactive effects that make the pilot more aggressive - but yes, EXAM was extremely dangerous for the pilot. HADES, on the other hand, wasn't so much dangerous, but rather /guaranteed/ to harm the pilot. Yeah... I'd try to avoid all three if possible, but it I /had/ to choose between them, I'd choose NITRO.
@@Shou_22 NTD is tricky, because Unicorn never talked about the risks. I don't know about Narrative, though: haven't been able to watch more than some scattered clips.
"Lets face it, if newtypes really existed..." *If?* Spare me your Freddie propaganda, we know newtypes exist! Your soul is weighed down by gravity, I wouldn't expect you to understand.
At least gravity keeps our muscles in good shape, someone norn and raised on a colony would be broken in half like a twig by a soldier from half in hand to hand combat.
SigmaDraconis87 Whatever u do, don't let Jean Grey the Dark Phoenix commandeer the Devil Gundam, or it'll become Hell Gundam or Nightmare Gundam since she could be an excellent battery power source with the power of the Phoenix in her as well a pilot 4 an evil monstrosity. if they ever become one, they would be so powerful that the only way 2 stop them is someone with an Omega-level Gundam 2 put them down.
Because it uses so much psycho frame, I’d say the Unicorn Gundam or any variations based off of it. It’d move so fast and act out of control in Unicorn mode to an average person, and due to how the NT-D System works, an average person couldn’t even access Destroy Mode for long, if at all. As it is, when a new type pilots it in Destroy mode, the movements are so synchronized that it almost appears to act on its own. Also, even with a new type pilot the gundam reverts into Unicorn mode after five minutes to reduce mental and physical strain on the pilot. It’s almost impossible for an average person to pilot, and even if they could, so much would be unavailable to them that it’d become a detriment to pilot.
TechnoKnight in what way? thought to be dead or captured by the feds? if the latter then he might not be alive since he might have to bare the punishment for everything the other Zeon soldiers did in the colony
Something about the Gundam series really terrified me as a kid, I think it was a death scene and seeing the character wail and scream impotently stuck in the cockpit as death closed in, just stuck with me and made me avoid the Gundam Series, so now I’m watching your vids to get me acclimated so I can finally power through and watch since I hear it’s great series
Oh yeah! one of the momentes cruel moments i liked in gundam seed is when Kira the messiah kills with a beam sword the pilot of the Blitz gundam.. and u can see the cockpit getting destroyed by the pressure and the beam sword comes through and slices the terrified pilot along with the gundam..
The unicorn brothers did have a 5 minute limiter on them because the NT-D would overstress the pilot, and the G-forces it was capable of pulling probably would have dislodged a few organs already. Unicorn alone was too terrifying for the test pilot, Banshee and Phenex would almost certainly be lethal.
Unicorn would certainly be one mobile suit that no-one wants an average person to pilot it because of its capabilities and the psycho-frame itself that can make an average person go crazy or dead.
Was gonna say, you forgot one, even though it too has the ZERO system installed on it as well. Epyon was a nightmare to pilot for both Hiro and Milliardo! And piloting Epyon itself almost drove Hiro insane at times, and in the manga, almost killed him too!
FYI! Mikazuki loses control of his right arm and his sight in his right eye when putting too much pressure in piloting the barbatos lupus, once he exits the cockpit he get unconscious, but when he is linked to barbatos, he has full control of his body. I dont know exactly what happens when he pilots the barbatos lupus rex, all I know is that he turns into berserk mode (the mode where his right eye bleeds) and kills everything that is his enemy, so its basically like Mikazuki is half Mika, half barbatos Thank you for listening
Mikazuki in the Rex would be essentially the same as if he is piloting the Lupus. He is granted all of his regular body controls, but once he leaves the cockpit his entire right side is crippled.
I would add: never pilot a damaged ReGZ (Chan Agi) or a GP01 Zephranthes in space if its still tuned for ground combat (Dumbass Kou Uraki). Also the Zaku-head Zeta in ZZ because that's just wrong.
"Provided you survive the operation." I know they didn't exactly focus on the ones who didn't, but they did talk about how difficult the operation itself was. I used to think people becoming physically ill just from hearing about it was overly sensitive, but the fact is, if you had a decent life, you wouldn't sign up for that kind of operation. Also I always thought the Unicorn Gundam was kinda creepy. Maybe it's less so if you're the intended pilot, but I doubt you'd want some random person in there.
There was also that one guy whose older brother got the operation and ended up crippled for life. So even if it didn't kill you outright, the Aliya Viyanna operation could mess you up REALLY bad.
Chris sounds like me playing a PC shooter with maxed mouse sensitivity/speed. I'd rather have slightly slow turning than to twitch like that all the time.
More accurately, its the F-16 with hydraulic boosted controls only instead of flyby wire controls. Deliberately designed to be aerodynamically unstable to improve maneuverability and responsiveness, but requires a computer to constantly be making small corrections every few nanosecond to keep it in a controlled flight.
correction, what I said but with a thrust vectoring engine. Even more maneuverability, but no way keep it in controlled flight. Simply trying to do an aggressive angle of attack ascent might end up instead being a backflip into the ground.
If you're a man, it simply uses you as a power source and secondary controller until it can find a suitable woman. When it finds a suitable woman, it engages the full panalopy of horror and looks like the world-ending abomination it is spoken of as.
no mention of the ZERO System that literally pulled a dark gundam by making the pilot do its bidding? though that is a side story not many know of, Tiel's Impulse I think
@@NeginoSora I mean Devil Gundam is on the list and it does seem to prefer women over men as its sla- I mean completely consicous and in control pilot.
Another honorable mention are the test mobile suits and the Gundam Ifrit Witch from Mercury. The test mobile suits accelerated the shit out of your circulation for increasing the machine's score during a fight, Raise it higher and that's death. Suletta as a baby was able to take 3 out mobiles while unaware of the situation when the developers were being killed off, and had little to no effects when synched to the Ifrit. The prologue's end was chilling...
@@JeanLucCaptain Honestly, I'd love to see that in a SRW game as a plotline. This series of antagonists end up using the 'Ultimate Gundam' and it's only after it runs out of -suckers- Villains that it grabs someone else and you pull the reveal the BBEG was the Devil Gundam all along.
I hope the poor dude got life insurance Also reminds me of that one scene from iron man I believe? Where Tony was in court and showed everybody how the government was trying to make their own armor and the test pilot had his spine twisted when the suit malfunctioned.
Yes. The Spartans armor would crush the wearer. Their own spasms would only crush them more. Hence the Spartan program's more unethical side of abducting children.
Personally I'm kinda disappointed that they gave use 72 reasons for new Gundam designs but pulled back and only gave us a few. Like come on, 72 reasons (plus variants, upgrades, etc.) to take our money with kits. That and ideas like a possibly connection that one could forge between the ASW-G-35 Marchosias and the Mobile Armor Hashmal interest me greatly. Also of interest (aside from where one could take Agnika's soul supposedly residing in Bael) was the question of whether the mobile armors were singular units each or was it kinda more like the D Gundam's army with several identical units. But that's not going anywhere because for now at least we aren't getting anymore IBO Post Disaster timeline stories.
@@reeseolsen4052 I guess I see what you mean, I would have loved to see for of the Gundam Frames. And I wonder why they couldn't sell Gundam Flauros Calamity Version for retail price, I mean for the RX-178 you get both the normal and Titan colors for a good price.
If you think about it. If Mikazuki was a little bit older when removing the limiters, he would've had a stronger mental & physical affinity and probably wouldn't have suffered too much to the system.
I though they fixed that issue by the time of season 2. Even still, given its limited operation time, probably shortened more by greater GN particle consumption, you might want to use a solar powered high performance MS like the Tieren All Region Type. At least with them not only you will never run out of power, they can still be good against GN powered machines
@@nikoladedic6623 gundam Plutone would like to differ. Even the stable GN particles of proper GN Drives can kill you in proper concentrations. Why do you think Trans Am was so effective against the ELS who create GN particles on their own.

One of my characters in a Super Robot Wars pen and paper rpg ended up being captured by the Devil Gundam and having a gcell clone spit out by it similar to the whole Shwarz Bruder situation. He then ended up being brainwashed by and joining Shu Shirakawa.
@@fauxvier8519 Probably right. I'm sure there are many other mobile suits with comparable speeds. But it does seem that the Tallgeese is the only one that ever addresses how dangerous this is for the pilot.
@@sethbaldridge5483 The Unicorn harms its pilots as well. I remember their test pilots not being able to withstand the G forces destroy mode experience. I would also love to see the overflag here but unfortunately its not a gundam.
could you even handle the physical stress applying the mobile trace system onto your body would cause, all pilots we’ve seen have had some trouble with the system especially Rain
Dont forget the EXAM System on Blue Destiny Units,NITRO on the Delta Kai,Psychommu/NT-D in Unicorn,HADES on Pale Rider, and then the MOONLIGHT BUTTERFLY system on Turn A and Turn X
Oh man the Wing dub was so good, thank you for that. The Wing Zero, Psycho Gundam and Devil Gundam were all in the right places on my list, but I learned something new about that lovely Alex gundam AND got introduced to the Forbidden Blue! Thanks for this! Personally, I wouldn't want to pilot the Deathscythe. The very limited weaponry means that you're always at a tactical disadvantage, plus the suit is either cursed or just flat out the worst of all the gundams as it's taken out by the Taurus mobile dolls, gutted for its technology, then publicly executed in one of the most heart-wrenching scenes in Wing. I kind of want to ask for a "Most brutal Gundam destructions" list just based on how bad Deathscythe gets slapped around.
It's a good thing this was a Gundam list, if it was a mobile suit list I'd include every GM and Zaku unit created before they fixed the power issue that caused the battery to explode whenever the suits got shot in the foot.
Unicorn only really did that when there were newtypes around and the NTD system activated. Making it dangerous to the people around it, but not the pilot.
@@CMDR_Ryan considering the fact that the pilot was also a newtype, the mental stress of controlling it around other newtypes was still great. It would realisticly be even more dangerous to its pilot if they couldn't take the physical strain of the system
The worst that could happen with the NT-D system is a coma. And that’s after being used as a biological component for the system in destroy mode (Unchained). And I’m reading this from the 1/60 PG Unicorn Gundam manual.
They had to put a limit on Destroy mode because of the mental strain it would cause a newtype pilot. The NT-D System would timeout at five minutes and revert the gundam to Unicorn mode to prevent the pilot from overdoing it. I was really expecting it to be on the list.
@@InfernalBanana Yeah but you would think Banhager as he gets older would unseal the Unicorn and remove the limiter if im correct By Hathaway flash/Hathaway he would be roughly 20-25 with the same as Minerva being roughly the same age
So it's been a few years, but I think an updated list is in order. That updated list should include ANY gundam from The witch from Mercury due to the GUND format potentially frying your brain, with that risk going up the higher your permet score. The Aerial was especially bad because if she did want you piloting her, she'd fry your brain... as a warning. But if she did like you, you can actually go stupid high with your permet score without issue.
Heero was able to use Wing Zero pretty easily, it was Epyon he couldn't handle. As Heero put it, "Treize designed that thing, I don't understand how that guy thinks".
To be fair, having piloted the Epyon first, Heero had first hand experience on using the Zero System on Wing Zero itself, given that both Epyon and WZ shared similar technological roots. Things would have been different if he had Wing Zero first.
I piloted one yesterday and come one... I finished hard tired, he wanted to control me all the time. It was a very traumatic experience. "Don't touch that", "don't tickle me there", "don't stretch that long thing"... It is an experience that I do not recommend to anyone unless you are long without a girlfriend or have consumed certain substances.
Eh, considering what we saw at the end of that episode, I'd argue that death crystal is more of a cheap, half - assed bootleg version of the ZERO System. Or at best, a severely unrefined variant/prototype of it.
And here I am just wanting to pilot grunts. M1 Astray? Sure! GM Sniper II? Sign me up! Tieren? You bet! Grunts might get wrecked by the local ace unit all the time, but they are still some of the coolest designs.
Gundam Epyon even though it was shown fighting the Winged Zero should of been on this list as well as Tallgeese. Tallgeese killed a few pilots before being tamed by Zechs Merquise.
The Tallgeese isn't a Gundam, it's THE prototype mobile suit that all mobile suits and Gundams are based on. The helmet actually comes off and it has a head just like a mobile suit LEO.
Any Gundam/Tallgeese level mobile weapon from the After Colony Gundam Wing universe are deadly to average pilots, Zero system or not. The G-Forces alone are enough to kill or cripple a normal human almost instantly, as seen when Milliardo's/Zechs' underling tried piloting the Tallgeese 1. Edit: Didn't realize Tallgeese 1 was featured in the sequel video to this one. Nice 👍
Given how my reaction speed was after getting good at Amored Core 4 and 4 answer I think the Alex gundam could eventually be mastered by an average pilot. Literally after playing AC 4 I played COD black ops 2 and the bullets were too slow.
If you trained pilots for a couple of months on it, I figure they could get used to it, or have a resistance setting on the OS to introduce some drag for normal use so it doesn't feel so twitchy.
I mean, I'd say Epyon with its version of the zero system would be worse since it relies on mainly melee fighting. Meaning if you start to hallucinate or doubt yourself you are right in the enemies face
Wow, this is a great list! Lots of crazy tech in this franchise. I also would put on the EXAM system from the Gundam Side Story: Blue Destiny. It was suppose to be a system that gave any pilot Newtype reflexes and extrasensory powers. It was an experimental thing and only in that one side story, but I thought I'd mention it. Great list!
I know Zaku is not a Gundam but, Psycho Zaku is pretty much created for destroying gundam, and to be able to pilot it, you must have all both of your arms and legs to be cut off for its Psycho system. I think he should make another top 5 non gundams mech you don't want to pilot as as an average person.
why no mention of the tallgeese? the pre gundam that killed every pilot who wasnt a newtype and as good as char if you pushed the acceleration pedals, you died.
I was wondering if Tallgeese would make the list too. The Gundam which was almost solely limited by the pilot's ability to resist the g-forces generated from it's movement.
Actual Gundams I would avoid piloting: any with a heavy transformation feature. Too much that can go wrong in the heat of combat and disable the suit or render a weapon useless. While not a Gundam by designation, it was the prototype for the tech in it's universe; Tallgeese from Gundam Wing. So overpowered they basically nerfed it down to nothing for the Leo. Zero could mess up your head but Tallgeese pumps out enough G-forces to induce cardiac arrest.
I know I'm really late, but I'd like to give an honorable mention to the Tallgeese. I'm considering it a Gundam since it was the prototype of all mobile suits, including the Gundams. In the test pilot had a heart attack during the first flight, and the second killed him, and it almost killed Zechs as well the first time he tried to pilot it. Forget going out of control, like the Alex you mentioned, it would straight crush you mid flight.
I loved your picks. My favorite will always be Zero, even though its more like my 1st knowed Gundam, I've always known about Gundam sence when I was young my aunt and uncle lievd in Japan and Zeta was very popular over there then. So I mainly remember the Mk2 cause people most people didn't care for it that much over there.
Me: "man i should be doing something more important, i am wasting my day again" Still me, who doesnt even watch Gundam: "Top 5 Gundams you dont want to pilot"
I don't know if anybody commented this but the Unicorn gundam is 1 of the dangerous gundams out there, as it can make your spirit disconnect from your body once it's full power is unleashed.
@@tyaty yes, but he specifically had them designed to disregard G Forces for speed, making them fairly dangerous for a non - ace without any kind of limitters
yo Kakarot. If you havent done it yet, please do a top 5 or top 10 Mass production Mobile Suits from the franchise. cause lets face it, the grunt units don't get enough love. only death by gundam
Watching this again after finishing Turn A Gundam and damn, maybe you should have included either of the Turn Code suits on this list. You'd be piloting a suit so powerful it has been the end of civilization, and if Chronicle of U.C is to be believed, is self aware enough to activate and deploy the Moonlight Butterfly without a pilot.
All things considered, Christina did pretty well with the Alex. There was that GM-II pilot in Zeta that crashed horribly onto the Colony surface at full speed because he couldn't somehow pull up or slow down while chasing after a Rick Dias. And we should all know here that the GM-IIs are not known for being cutting edge technology... Also, my honorable mention would go to Nobel Gundam with its Berserker System. Yes, the system itself can be fully controlled from outside, but that is also the problem in that it could be turned on or off at any time and really throw off a pilot that is either not ready for it or incapable of handling it. And the latex suit application can probably be pretty painful too if you're not physically fit, but that's par for the course of every Mobile Fighter you're not fully in-sync with.
What gundam I'd want to pilot, even though it never got an animated series, Crossbone Gundam, namely the Crossbone Gundam X-1 Full Cloth cause...well, who doesn't want to be a cool space pirate?
Probably it's dangerous as well due it designed for operation near Jupiter high gravity... Only ace would survive (ignore the mcgyver Tobia due his genius and train under Seabook)
What about the "Blue Destiny" ? That thing is "sentient" and prioritizes its own safety over the pilot ! "Why is it guarding the head and not the cockpit ?"
dark gundam was created ( according to the anime anyway) by yes Dr.Kasshu but also by Kyoji as this was a father son project. taken from the gundam wiki for kyoji (i know anyone can edit a wiki) "Kyoji Kasshu was one of the scientists who worked on the Ultimate Gundam along with his father, Dr. Raizo Kasshu, a Gundam that would be more powerful then any developed before for the purpose of restoring the Earth"
As much of Gundam fan I am. I'm not so crazy to get into the cockpit of any mobile suit ever. Why? They are walking coffins. At any point on the battlefield your cockpit can become your grave. These on this list are by far some of the scariest mobile suits even without being on a battlefield. Great vid man.
I'd like to pilot the GUNDAM DYNAMES and the VIRTUE GUNDAM from season 1 of GUNDAM 00. The DYNAMES firing that massive of a volley to sever that piece of of the orbital station that came off from the ground was epic. The VIRTUE cutting an aircraft carrier in half with one shot from a shoreline was epic as well. It is also an asset to have TRANS AM as an option with those original GN drives.👍👍
Well if you’re not in top physical and mental condition, you wouldn’t want to pilot any Mobile Fighters from G Gundam as you’re required to not only endure putting on a tight body suit, it also runs checks on you to see if you are even fit to pilot it. On top of that, in exchange for full control of the suit with your own body, you’ll receive painful feedback from any corresponding part of the Gundam’s body that takes notable damage or destroyed. Not to mention the cockpit is surprisingly more vulnerable than any other Gundam in the franchise as the only protection you got was a single rule that can easily be broken (whether it be intentional or by accident) or completely removed.
"Dreaming of being in your own isekai anime" Dude, I already have a scipt for that one, its quite short as I end up dying in the first few episodes because I mouthed off to the wrong guy on the seemingly open comm lines these franchises have.
