Other ways to make money: I rented a camera from the library and took pictures for families, birthday parties, quinceañeras, retirement parties, senior pictures for high schoolers and college levels. Soon enough I made enough money to invest in a great camera. Now I take pics for the frat and sororities and their professional head shots. I also sell plates of home cooked food, tamales for Christmas and so on. I sell weekend food packages to college kids and even cook and set up their parties. I also learned how to detail sneakers so I clean them and that is big with the college and high school kids. With all my side hustles I've been able to pay off all my debt within a couple years
Homeschool Mom of 4 in Iowa city, Iowa. Most clients are through word of mouth, my Facebook, I post on Facebook groups, on IG, flyer at my university campus. I even made a tinder for my home cooked meals. I cleaned a couple shoes of a popular Dj in town and he’d tagged me so I got a lot of clients that way. I sent letters and flyers to the frat house with idea for pictures and why they need profesional pics
I sent out my information to about ten local businesses and informed them of my skills. Three companies called me in for an interview and the rest was history.
I work from home (for 2 different companies) teaching english to children in China! You need to be enrolled to get a bachelors or have a bachelors. I love it!
I have one to add - QuickBooks, take a class and learn it if you don't know it, classes are offered usually by local community colleges. Then go build your business by going out to local businesses and offering your QB services. You can work in their office or use a thumb drive to gather their QB file and work at home and bring it back to update their file. Or QB online is also an option. Average pay is $25-45/hour. You can also pay $400 to Intuit/QuickBooks to become a 'Quickbook Pro' that gives you a status title and lists you on their Network for people tgat own a version of QB and are looking for qualified QB people to help them with their bookkeeping.
Generating income online is fairly difficult. If you`re still on to the search for online earning, waste no time and Google *4NetJobs. Com* and read everything you should know on their website. This website will let you get training resources and learn tactics that could improve your online businesses..?
There's a difference between a side hustle to make extra cash and a long term business, In my personal opinion I believe affiliate marketing is a much better option. I build a $100k a year business with it and anyone can do it if they're willing to work and improve their self education.
Omg I am so incredibly impressed by you. So much immediate trust when I look at you. I looked at the channel and I was like "whoa, this womyn is working OVERTIME" you've got multiple posts per week on a consistent basis. You work hard and you've gotten results, and I am inspired!!! Thanks so much for being you and sharing it
It is much harder than you think to find remote/ work from home jobs. It takes dedication and time. I worked from home for an awesome company and the pay was pretty good for what I needed it but it took me forever to get a call back! I did some freelancing and wrote some posts but they are very limiting and want you to only write about specific things so it’s not creatively free. I have an administrative assistant background having worked in an office for a while before I had 2 kids. So it is possible but it takes a while. I’m talking months. It took me about a year before I finally found a work from home job. I was applying everywhere! So just don’t get discouraged and keep going but know that it’s not easy or fast.
Yessy Ortiz I know Yessy! I also have Administrative, payroll back ground for years!' I've been trying to find work from home like transcribing, data entry, virtual assistant with all the experience I have I didn't think it would be this hard!
Yessy! I'm a graphic designer and it is hard for me to find consistent work and clients because these "overnight designers" are out here undercharging and misinforming people.
I ABSOLUTELY ❤ Women Entrepreneurs!! Great video...Great ideas! I've been a freelance Graphic Artist for about 3 years now. Social Media has definitely kept me busy. I create social media ads for posting on Facebook & Instagram. Being relevant online means posting great visual content AND context!! I use my passion for creative design to help people struggling with content for social media. I Love It!!!
Paula Brown i have this passion for graphic design and I've tried self teaching, but never really see any improvement. Do you have any advice or could you point me in the right direction?
Hi Kayla! Well, I'm a "self-taught" Graphic Artist. I've never taken any college courses! I dabbled a bit in photography about 15 years ago. My husband bought the Adobe software for me and basically said, "Learn It!" To be honest with you I just started reading articles, watching RU-vid videos and pushing buttons!!! I learned Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Now I'm a successful freelance Graphic Artist. It takes A LOT of commitment, I won't lie to you. But looking back on where I started from; I'm so glad my husband pushed me and I made it happen. I would suggest starting with Canva or other free, user friendly platforms like it to get you started. Canva has templates, images, and other graphic elements already built into their platform. Spend some time and play around a little. You already have the passion...dive right in! :)
Paula Brown I truly appreciate your response. I will take all that you said and run with it. Believe it or not, not many people respond to you when you ask for "help". Thank you so much!
I've been telling my husband lately that I have this creative side that I'm not using..I knw in my heart that I'm suppose to be creating something or stuff just can't seem to put a finger on it in watching this video just kinda clicked with me! How would I start graphic designing?
Hey Jazmine! If you've got a creative side you definitely have many options to choose from to turn it into a profitable business! There are a lot of different aspects of graphic design. Sketch art, vector art, logo design, as well as digital or print marketing and advertising. Start by deciding what you like to do best and what you're really good at. It could be business card design, wedding invitation design, logo branding, business marketing, or even digital marketing for social media. If you're not familiar with Graphic Design software such as Adobe Illustrator, you can always use platforms such as Canva. It's very easy to use and you'll be a pro in no time! It's very crucial that you have a portfolio of your work. If you don't already have one, get busy! Clients will want to see examples of your work. Start with people you know at work or church who need flyers, birthday invitations...things like that. After you get a great portfolio going, you can start advertising your services. A great platform to use is Upwork. Clients use Upwork to find professionals just like you to hire for small to large projects. It's a really great way to earn some extra money! Good luck Jazmine! :)
This is literally confirmation!!! I am in the process of launching my virtual assistant business. Thank you Jia!!!! *if you need a VA go ahead and contact me*
Jia, Thank you for providing actual valuable content along with the resources as well. Most videos just tell you what you can do but don't offer any direction to take action which is where most people get lost. I'm not a VA but $30 for training that will not only teach you the actual job but provide an actual business plan is an outstanding value. Hopefully this helps others to achieve their financial goals and that would definitely be sharing this on my social media platforms as well. Take care and keep up the great content!
Just a heads up; I tried referring a couple friends and the coupon code is no longer valid and the course has increased to $65. I still think that's a tremendous value but just wanted to give you a heads up.
This may have been what I needed. I’m almost 40. Separated. Living together. 3 kids. And I have stayed at home with no job for 15 years and now I have to start all over. Finding my journey. Thank you.
Thank you for all the good ideas I want so badly to work from home so I can spend more time with my 3kids. I am trying the VA course and super excited to get started! Thank you again for all your good advice and motivation you are such a bright light to the world! God bless you!
I hope the course also explains legalities, and how to set up a contract. You want to have some recourse in case you don’t get paid, and other details. This becomes A HUGE ISSUE when you’re dealing with an online business because your clients are all over the world. You don’t have the luxury of meeting them in Court, and laws that you think cover you, maybe don’t apply elsewhere. A self-employed person needs to consider this whether they are working online, or have their own local business.
I just came by your channel a couple of days ago and am obsessed with it. I live in Chile (South America) and the culture here isn't so open to work from home yet but now, with this pandemic, everything and everyone has had to adapt. I looove your input on this and I have a full time job but I also teach part time online, which, isn't the best paying but has been so beneficial for me and my family. I'm going to give one of these a try and I'll let you kknow how I do. Thanks for your video!
TRUTH. I'm a Graphic Designer and I've been a stay at home, work at home mom for the last 13 years, and I started making more money doing that than I did working as a full time time retail manager within 6 months. Go for it!
This was SO helpful. Thank you for sharing. I have many hidden talents and don't know where to start! I have a degree in healthcare administration but on the side I love planning, desigin, originazing, etc.! Hopefully, I can find something based off your vid 💓 💡 thanks again!
Dearest Jia, Oh, gosh....how Blessed am I to have found you in my "suggestions" by RU-vid!! See, 6 months ago I lost my precious husband of 27 years suddenly and unexpectedly. I'm on disability due to 8 brain and brain related surgeries in 10 years. Obviously, my precious Joey was the "bread winner". I'm suddenly needing to find work, but I'm unable to go out to work. It's my hope and prayers that I can learn from your video what I might be able to do. THANK YOU!!! Blessings, Cyndy Lopez
I'm a graphic designer. I went to school for it and $65,000 later I'm still not making any money. IDK what I'm doing wrong. I've had my own business for 6 years and I keep getting work but no one wants to pay the amount. I charge so much cheaper than I should. I've made $20 in September. I'm doing something wrong I think.
You have encouraged me so much. Being out of work since a job merger I was with them 12 years prior to it. Thank you so much will be looking into a few of these ideas!
Love this video!! Thank you for finding so many practical ways to make money from home! I will definitely be trying one of these methods to help make money for my family!
Awesome video! I follow Lydia on YT. I love her channel. I signed up for her course previously but for personal reasons I didn’t get to go through the course. The great thing about it though is I have lifetime access so I can take it anytime.
**adding to my playlist** I am not a stay-at-home mom or a mom at all but I am def looking to do part-time 'remote' (at home) work and maybe even full-time 'at home' work one day.
I'm a sahm mom and full time student. I want to get back into the work field but would prefer an at home position. My family and I are possibly relocating to Georgia and this would be great!!
This was inspired! Jia, my struggle is that with raising 4 kids and going through some additional family issues in the past year, plus working when I can on my own channel, running the household, cooking, cleaning, etc I feel sooo strapped for time! We could 100% use more income so I keep looking into ways to (paid!) work from home but honestly cant figure how to squeeze more into our crazy days! I have experience as a personal assistant background so I like this option. 😊 But I also have a ton of emails of my own to stay on top of. And then too helping others edit videos sounds cool.... of course I am still learning to edit on my videos as well! I think my skills still need improvement before I could help others. What also stood out to me was the freelancing thing. Writing has been one of the few lifelong skills and abilities that I seem to do pretty well at. Thanks for touching in such an important topic in this video! xo
Mother Muse Im in the same position. Just found a great business in network marketing selling CBD with almost zero startup. CBD is going to be the biggest money making and health saving products of our time and will see itself! Www.mydailychoice.com/jenniversal
Mammaw Chronicles: House of KhaoS Ah yes. I know many people now who have started taking CBD recently. But won’t it be readily available in public clinics and so forth? I suppose one could compete by selling it privately for less? But as a private seller how would one go about screening the products for the best quality, concentration, purity etc? Or are you talking about formulating your own? Just curious. xo
Thanks so much for your video its very encouraging. I am a secretary/admin asst., bilingual took a virtual asst course some time ago. I work at a hospital for 15 years, but I drive 100 miles a day 5 days a week. I am tired and would like to stay home. I am trying to pay most of my bills so if I earn less and dont have bills to pay I can relax. thanks for sharing. Many blessings!
You are inspirational!!! I lost everything this week - my job and the people that helped pay the rent. Looking forward to starting a new life, but NOT in an office setting!!!! I'm am experienced administrator, former director and looking to do it differently this time around - wish I could afford it! Thanks for the info.
Casey J I love you!!! No I have just started all of this. I am a total introvert ready to change my life!! The most I've ever done online is chat with a group during live streams. Lol. I'm starting from scratch. I'll do that this evening. THANK YOU so much!!!
Mary D You're welcome sis! I think this is the year that a lot of people are stepping up and out of our comfort zone either by force or by faith. Including me too!! 😊 I am just learning the basics of WordPress and loving the endless possibilities... You can set up multiple blogs, websites or websites which include a blog page so make yourself a dummy one as you are learning the basics of building the site and it will give you the confidence to build the real one. Another benefit of doing it that way is you might start to build the real one and then you don't like the theme but it may not transpose well into the theme you eventually want, so practice on the dummy site first. Then you can start promoting yourself on platforms such as RU-vid and Periscope... You can do it without showing your face to start with too. I wish you blessings and hope for the future.
@@LaCartier06 Ive got out of Sales and Marketing the $ was good in the beginning but, decided to quit sales went down and decided I lost the passion for it.I became moody with my children due to the stress of sales. So husband said just give your 2 weeks I did it I was scared as heck of the unknown had small emergency fund which helped some.If you have faith things will go well and or you have someone to help support you quit day job I say go ahead and go for it!!
I loved this video so much. I have been interested in becoming a virtual assistant so I'll be checking out that course. Thank you for sharing this information.
Hi! just passed by you tube looking for something to make me interested doing online jobs to ...you know increase my cash flow to support my family..... just grabbed it from what you've said..really loved it.. I will complete my things needed to go and face the online world and hoping it will be with you, ;)
I would absolutely love to become a Freelance Writer. I've been "writing" since I was a little girl, I'm not sure why I never got into it as a career but my problem is that I don't have a portfolio at all, no resume, no proof of experience because I actually don't have any experience doing it as a job. It's just something I love, I'm actually good at it (Please don't judge my writing skills based on this post, Lol) I've had many people throughout my life ask me why I never became a writer.
I'm a new subbie . I love your vibes . I'm definitely gonna check out the VAcourse and them glasses are GORGEOUS I'm gonna have to get me a pair . Stay blessed
How can you avoid scams. I almost fell gor a virtual assistant scam. They mail checks to your home, saying its for the work equipment. When you cash the check, they get a notification of your banking info and can steal your info or money.
OMG This is AWESOME! I work FT, but I need extra on the side, esp for my budding YT channel, you DEFINITELY have a new subbie! Thank you for your hard work!!!
You are talking about creating your own business from your own scratch...! These are not work from home businesses. These are just ideas that you would need to plow the road for yourself.
I'm intrested in being a social media manager. I'm business school right now. Have a passion for management, marketing, business owner and help others at the same time
I work remotely, it's great. At times. I miss being around people, not the water cooler talk. Actually, looking into moving and changing careers. Any insight on living in Southern States, such as Alabama, Mississippi. I know the cost of living would be much less, than my current state of Michigan. Just waiting on some should to respond back to me now. Nursing is the career I'm thinking of.
I live in Mississippi and nurses are always needed. Yes, the cost of living is low generally but deoemding on wherever you decide to live and work it could definitely be expensive. Most of the larger hospitals are in the Jackson-Metro area which is currently going through a sort of Renaissance right now. Some of the best and safest places to live around Jackson are: Fondren, Flowood, Madison and Ridgeland. Hope this helps!
Good day. My name is Jade Jones. I am grateful to have viewed your youtube information towards working from home. I have seen your face quite a few times while scrolling through videos on youtube. Today I chose to view. I am a stay at home parent who homeschools my three younger children. I am interested in inquiring information about starting out as a Virtual Assistant. I just subscribed to your channel so I can learn more about becoming am entreprenuer. Thanks again for the information.
I'm a single mom with an 11 year old daughter who I am aching to spend more time with. Are any of these jobs really doable for someone that is a one income household that can allow for so much flexibility and still make enough to take on the household expenses alone?
I've had a little fun editing my own videos in the past, such as my skydiving videos and how I put _Anniversary Flight_ (my sky dive trip one year after my first one) together. If you'd like to take a look, I have a playlist called sky-high Memories, or something like that. It has all the skydives that I managed to get any footage on. I only did it six times, and I think I managed to get at least a little something on all but the last one. There's also _My Long Lost Twin_ (I don't have a twin sister), and of course the video I made when I was auditioning for a short-term mission trip in Ireland to help put on a Christmas show for children back in late 2012 ( _My Long Lost Twin_ was an experimental video to see if I could pull it off).
This comment is so not related to the topic of your video, but I just love your intro music :) and of course your videos are always great... keep ‘em coming!
Thank you! I am fairly new to your channel. You caught my attention with a Costco haul. I don't know much about your lifestyle and videos. Do you work outside the home as well as do RU-vid? Is there a video that talks about you and how your family became debt-free? I did sign up for the virtual assistant course. Thanks so much.
Hi Lenora! Thanks for watching! Yes I work full time outside of the home and I do have a video about how we become debt free! If you go to my channel search for my “how we became debt free” it should pop up.
This was solid info. I knew I needed help didnt know the name of the position "Social Media Assistant plus" (yes I added "plus"). I dont have enough time to make product, I surely dont have time to b on the internet all day. Once u get on the internet one thing leads to another n 4 hrs later u remember y u were on there in the first place. Thnx again for this helpful info.
Hello there sweet friend, thank you so much for this video. I really need something like this because I’m a single mother of three and I am completely blind. I need to get back on my feet because I’d like to get my own place one of these days and be out on my own. What are your thoughts on legal and medical transcription? Also, what are your thoughts on call-center jobs from home? Because I am visually impaired, I think that those two fields might be good for me because I have previous experience in both of those fields. Have a great day. Blessings to you and your family, Rebeca
I’m looking into becoming a virtual assistant! We just bought land and are wanting to Homestead it and it’s literally a mile off the road back in the woods and I live in northern Michigan so I’m really trying to find something that gives me the flexibility to stay at home to manage the house and property and not have to leave in the winter
So happy I came across your channel, I love your energy! Im looking to make extra money so this is perfect timing. I'm super organized-VA would totally be up my alley. #newsubbie 🤗
I love you! I FEEL you in this video. To tears! Thank you so much this could not have come at a better time. You are amazing and I love it! Have a great weekend! 👏👐!
Jia, you are SO AMAZING and VERY ENCOURAGING!!! I am sitting here in awe at one of the opportunities you listed "Virtual Assistant" and "Freelance Writer!" I have experience in both!!! I've grown discouraged at the many applications I've sent employers at brick and mortar companies as well as physical commutes to interviews and am quite exhausted to say the least. You are so right, we need to acquire as many streams of income as possible!!! The most profound statement you made was that we should "step out on faith and try!!!" Profound!!! Thanks for sharing, and God bless you, as well in Jesus's name, amen!!!☝⛪🤗😊
You know I'm a graphic designer. Paid a lot of money and went to school for it wasn't the best choice I must say. Especially because of things like what you're saying in your video. Now granted some people have a natural nap for graphic design. Part of the problem with a graphic design industry is there being undercut by $5 logos and so on. There's a lot more to it Form and Function how many fonts you should or shouldn't use in a design hierarchy. Yes a lot of this can be learned online now. But a lot of it can't. However in today's economy most people want what's cheap not what's great or even good.
I'm not sure if she just changed the price but when i did click on Lydia's VA video it said $50 not $30. And she isn't having any openings for the rest of this year.. but thanks for your video i did enjoy it!
