The school lock down stories were what introduced me to the channel 7 years ago. The story where the school technician is hiding and trusting with the shooter still gives me chills
Story 4: I understand OP's point, but the band director made the right choice. In that moment, he knew he the guy wasn't going to go back outside. He knew the intruder would have shot all of them if his intent was to blindly kill them. He took a gamble and made the intruder waste time by going further unto the school, giving him the opportunity to warn security, and (I assume) lock the doors to the band room. Absolutely chilling to think how terrified that teacher and those students all were in that moment.
Yes, thank you! I was gonna make a similar comment but I decided to check and see if anyone else did first. I also can see OPs point but I still agree that the band teacher made the right choice. Directing that man to go back outside wouldn’t have worked and I think he knew that. By getting him to exit the classroom he not only saved his own students while also buying time to contact security, but he also gave the intruder a sense of relief to lower his guard. And in that time he also was able to send an alert to get the rest of the school in lockdown. It really was the best move and I feel like there’s a good chance he was even trained on what to do in that scenario, after hearing how well he handled the situation. (Though there’s also the chance that he was just an exceptional human too.)
@@abed-m7786 i know lmfao, there are youtubers out there that would post it regardless. he's one of the few youtubers who do care about people 💀that was my point.
Just to let you guys know: Never ever *ever* let anyone into a school building, whether you know them or not. They can go through a main door or not at all. Being rude is better than being dead.
Story 1: that substitute teacher was VERY lucky that no one was hurt that day when she made the mistake of letting that man in the building pretending to be a teacher
She seemed like a fecking moron. She also said she believed a rumor about the potential victim despite the fact that the man may have potentially been abusive. So, the teacher not only believed unfounded rumors but assumed someone should be let in just because they say they're a teacher. Genius.
Dude chill. We all make the small little mistakes that you don't know what could happen, what that person would do. You probably walked past many, many, many killers that you have not any clue. It's the small things you need to look out for. Holding the door for someone in Subway that would possibly shoot up the place ETC... You don't know.
@@thestars386 you are stupid! That in noway, shape or form made any sense. When it’s obvious that a person shouldn’t be let into a building or if you’re not for sure they should be let in, YOU DON’T LET THEM IN! That is not like passing someone on the street who’s a potential murderer, we have no control over that but we do have control over someone who’s trying to get into a place that they might not have any business being in if they’re the ones asking us to let them in! That’s the exact samething you said about letting a shooter on the subway train. Your response to me was completely pointless and dumb was not thought through at all. You need to think things through a little better before you start taking defense against someone like me who made a valid point
HELPFUL TIP if you're ever in a situation like in story 2 where you're being followed. When you get home to your apartment or dorm whatever DO NOT TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS! The person will now know which room/apartment is yours
Thank you so much! The precious students and adults lives were snuffed out by a mentally ill woman. Thankfully, our police didn't hesitate to enter the building (with no body armor) before others were killed--peace, from Nashville
Story 3 reminds me of my own close call many years ago… it was under much different circumstances, but it still remains seared into my mind over 30 years later. I was seven, a loner, and I was at the local park where one of my siblings was playing soccer and my dad was coaching. I wanted to stay in the truck and read, so my dad let me. At some point, a man came up to my dad’s truck and asked me to open the door, which I fortunately had locked. I remember shaking my head at him, but being otherwise unable to speak. He repeated this request several times, while also telling me that my dad had sent him to get me. I still remember the feeling of terror and the realization that the man did not have good intentions, even at that young age. He eventually started to beat on the truck window while telling me to open the door, and at that point I just laid on the horn, which made him take off very quickly. There are a lot of evil people out there, and I’m grateful that I had the presence of mind to stay safe and instinctively realize that the man meant me harm.
Where I live we rarely ever had to worry about lockdowns. In high school we have something called yearbook day at the end of the school year.. it's a day where you go to your first few classes, then to the middle school for an award thing, then back to the high school to get your yearbooks and spend the rest of the day doing different activities. It was my first yearbook day and I was so excited, however in my 2nd block class they called for a lockdown. I thought maybe we missed one so they were trying to make up for a day. I don't know how long we were in lockdown, maybe afew hours...? At that point I started to get concerned. We were eventually allowed to leave and as we were heading to the middle school I saw copcars parked outside of the school, and I got a text from the school explaining why we went in to lockdown, apparently someone was threatening the school, luckily they never followed through with their threat but it was enough to scare me any time I found out we were going in to lockdown even if it was a drill. Other than that, the only other thing I remember is my friend asking if I was ok and if I needed to leave, and if I did then they would have asked someone. I never liked yearbook day after that, and even now I still think about that and what would have happened if they followed through with their threat.
Man I'm a teacher in the UK and I thank God this isn't something I have to consider on my way into work everyday. I pray for every schools safety. Rest in peace to the victims of the Nashville shooting. Praying for the strength of all those impacted this horrendous act of violence.

After hearing story #4 As a security officer I need to remind all of you people - we are surrounded by crazy people. Literally mental, crazy people. Even in my short 4 years of experience, working in a big financial institution I can assure you one thing - the moment you step out of your home you are already in danger. You have no idea who is sitting next to you in the train, coffee shop or restaurant.
Wow, that art teacher is a hero! Obviously, it was the right thing to do but that meant risking her life and possibly the lives of the other kids in the classroom.
The fact there are 5 volumes of this breaks my heart. My daughter is in school now and I worry every day. It's always at the back of my mind how safe she will be..
Been listening to your channel for 6 years! You are by far one of the best creators I know. The stories you tell and ambience you add to them never disappoint
I'm in the hospital with a broken ankle and I was so excited to see you'd posted a new video. I love going to sleep to your videos, your voice is soothing (I know, it's a disturbing topic. Ironic I guess) thank you for all the videos you make for us!
I’m from Nashville, TN. Born and raised. I was taking my son to the zoo when my husband texted me from work saying there’s been a school shooting here in Nashville. I was panicking because I have two nephews in school. My heart just hurt so bad when I heard about the deaths and saw the body cam footage. My son was suppose to go visit other family members after the zoo but I couldn’t let go of him. I just can’t fathom. Those poor parents and family members of those killed. I can’t imagine the fear the victims felt before their lives were taken. I’m very thankful for the officers that went in that school and did what they had to do. So scary and so sad.
Ms. Green is the real OG of all these stories. She could have potentially gotten hurt but she really told an intruder to fuck off and took her student back like a parent

The timing of the first upload was quite unfortunate- But at least we get to watch the video re-uploaded. These stories have always given me chills because of my own experiences with lockdowns

I get why this video had to be delayed a bit, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a great Mr. Nightmare video despite the topic within it. We love the content you give us, sir! Always will! 🖤
Our school always took lock downs super seriously. Would not tell us if it were a drill or real, as we were supposed to treat every one as it was real, and even had code words to come out, something like had to say name, job title and I think some phrase related to our school for us to actually come out. I think only once or twice did we ever have a real one in 12 years of school. First one was when we were in elementary school, and there was some crazy domestic issue in the neighborhood right behind us, and another was when we were a bit older and I think the school accidentally buzzed someone in they didn't mean to. Either way, it was super freaky not knowing if it was real or just a drill.
You know, I genuinely want to know why people shoot up schools. “Because I was bullied” there are plenty of people that was bullied and they didn’t react this way. Then again there are people who romanticized the columbine school shooters, so I think some people “do it for fun/fame”
IVe grown up with you man, I'm tearing up after seeing how far you've come im so proud to have been a part of this journey of almost a decade. You have an amazing channel with top tier videos and I really wish you the best. Love from Australia ❤ 🇦🇺

I think the only lockdowns i had as a kid was when a rabid raccoon got in our school in elementary school and the second was a shoeless man got in the school somehow and he was never found. and then just before graduation a girl threatened to bring a gun to shoot a ex bf. That was the most severe and I’m glad that I graduated before it got worse
Same, the only lockdown I ever had was when I was in 7th grade just because there was an animal on campus, we didn't just go inside, but we hid like there was a human threat, it lasted for an hour, it was really unnecessary and it shows that not all lockdowns are because of armed intruders.
The only lockdown my school has was after school in track I wasn’t there a kid was outside with a toy gun that ppl thought was a real one and once we had a lock out bc someone threatened to shoot to the school we were safe police were outside just in case and that one time a killer was lose but those aren’t lockdown
Right? When I heard that I was like: Okay, so OP is irresponsible by letting a stranger into the school when they had no business doing that, and now they're saying it's this other woman's fault for doing something "terrible" to her ex-husband? What a prize. 🙄
It's crazy to think that I remember the first school lockdown video you did around 7 years ago. I was in 6th grade when I got into this channel, I'm now a junior in high school and still a loyal follower. The story when they were playing sporkle and the school had a lack of security was my first story.
I live in Texas and even though we never had a lockdown at any of the schools I went to. Still, I'd hear about school lockdowns and deadly school shootings in parts of Texas. The whole time I heard any of the going on during my time in school is that could've happened to us at any school I attended back then. The closest call was in high school and I was about to go to lunch but my dad came to pull me out of school under the pretense of going to a McDonalds for lunch. After I had lunch with my dad at the McDonalds. I asked him why he pulled me out of school that day. A grim look on his face was shown and he told me that a lot of parents were pulling their children out of school that day because they received a threat or warning about four teenagers coming to school with guns for a revenge attempt on who or what I don't know was for. The four armed teenagers, well, one got arrested and was taken into custody, the other three took off but I don't know if they too got caught later on. The whole time I knew that if my dad didn't pull me out of school that day like other parents were with their kids. That day could've taken a bad turn that ends a lot worse. But my parents are divorced and this was so long ago that I'm just glad I don't go to school anymore.
It makes me grateful my college campus had some pretty good security having a security desk with a real person at every dorm and building. And we even had drills for inside the dorms and a deadbolt. I believe I didn't go to school with lockdown drills until high school, mostly because our school grounds coincided with a public trail. It's always scary either way. My heart goes out to victims of senseless violence
The school lockdown stories were what first drew me to the channel seven years ago. The one about the school technician hiding and unknowingly trusting the shooter still sends shivers down my spine.
"Maria must have done something super bad to him; why else would he show up to her school with a gun?" Um because he's a psycho she had every right to hide from??? wtf with the victim blaming in that first story; holy shit...
@@mikedegrassetyson8807 neither does the OP, which is the point. Someone tried to MURDER a woman IN FRONT OF CHILDREN and SHE'S the bad guy??? No. That's not how that works.

It's so sad that this is the world we live in! Kids are forced to go to school to learn and grow, not to be shot at and die! That aside, this one is Mr. Nightmare's best video! Keep up the good work, bro! 👍
I was definitely a bit disappointed when this was postponed at first. However, I completely understand and respect you for delaying it. My thoughts and prayers go out to those in Nashville and I'm very sorry for their losses.
I was so into that boating horror story video, but I love these lockdown videos. Something that Introed me to the channel. Sending prayers out to the families and friends of the victims in Nashville.
I had 3 lockdowns during my time in high school. The first happened in April or may of 2019 , the second happened in late September or early October of 2019 and the last one happened in early June of 2022
Band director did the right thing. Storyteller has no idea what he’s talking about. If he knew he wasn’t supposed to be there he most definitely was not gonna exit the school. Getting him away from the kids was top priority if he was gonna request a lockdown right after.
Thank you for your uploads as always, Mr. Nightmare. It really tells a lot when there's always more of these kinds of stories, not including the holiday ones.
Honestly that band director was pretty smart. If he has told him to leave there’s a chance he would’ve been angered and done something much worse. He directed him inside then immediately went into lockdown. The chances of him getting into a room to do harm was probably much worse if you would think about it. Def think it was the best out of the situation imo.
Man mr nightmare u definitely the OG of all horror stories. Been watching this dude since I was a lil kid, foo been scaring me since then now 18 and still pay homage to his videos much luv.
The scariest lockdown story I’ve personally experienced was in middle school. Around mid-morning we went into lockdown for a couple of hours. The school didn’t tell us anything at the time, but we could tell the difference between a drill and the real deal. I eventually found out later that a homeless guy had wandered into the school. You see, my school was right next to a local park that had a large concentration of the city’s homeless population. Apparently a gym teacher had left the back doors unlocked because it was the day when students would run a mile on the track, and he didn’t want to have to keep unlocking the door all day. The same doors lead into the cafetería and goes outside onto an outdoor patio for students to eat at. It was well known that the local homeless population would sleep on the tables at night, as the patio was sheltered. It seems as if someone was still around in the morning when the gym teacher unlocked the door, and the man let himself inside. Eventually the French teacher found the guy wandering the halls and led him to an exit while a colleague alerted the office so they could lockdown and search the building. As far as I know, nothing ever came out of it, and the school did their best to cover up the whole incident. The only reason I know what really happened is because I was friends with the daughter of the French teacher, and they shared the story with me years later shortly after graduating high school. In the end, I was never in danger, but it was so unnerving seeing how easy it was for someone to get into the building. As we know, that’s whole shootings have happened. It absolutely terrifies me to think about now
Someone crown Mr.Nightmare as the king of horror story telling. I was introduced to his channel via "true school lockdown horror stories" that he uploaded quite a few years ago. Since then ive still been able to sleep well at night lol
I wondered why this video disappeared like it did, makes sense. Definitely a good choice in hindsight. Thank you for the quality videos all these years as well, been watching you since "Trapped at Freddy’s."
14:11 yeah I'm sure if the guy had more nefarious intentions, he would follow whatever the band instructor says and go back outside and not just head deeper inside regardless🙃
The sub teacher and the music teacher were very irresponsible in dangering the schools grounds by just letting in some random person to enter the building, not to mention direct him to the school’s front office.
