Poor kid in the second story, but I'm glad he was spared a lifetime of trauma. Makes me glad for the layout of my local library which is two stories. First floor is for adults containing books, computers, study area etc. while the 2nd floor is for children only. It's safer for them and keeps it quiet for the rest of us patrons.😊
The second story is why my mom always taught me from a very young age to not have conversations with strangers. And whenever I would violate that rule when I was a kid she would punish me. It was tough love. But it was also necessary because it kept me safe from such situations. There are all kinds child predators out there. And parents need to teach their kids about this.
Friendly reminder to college students out there: if you’re out late on campus, CALL PUBLIC SAFETY. They’d be more than happy to escort you and/or give you a ride to the dorms. Stay safe!
i tried that last week and waited for a whole hour, then I couldn’t wait anymore and had to walk 10 minutes to a bus stop at 1am, also I’m a 21 year old woman so that was terrifying😭
Man, these stories were terrifying. The first and second ones were the scariest. If those two guys weren't there that creep would've done god knows what to her, and that pedophile turning off the lights trying to play "hide and seek" would give a person goosebumps, especially since they didn't find that guy
@@andymilstenmusic8520 Simple, those types of people aren't in their right mind, never were. The minute they choose to do it, they're not in their right mind, and neither are the people who defend them.
I worked at a public library for almost 5 years. Never a dull moment. The library was built in 1897, so rumors of it being haunted was prevalent but not true. The patrons definitely made the job interesting..
Yeah, people forget that being a librarian is a customer service job, just like any other customer service job that deals with creeps, Karens, etc. Being a librarian doesn't always mean reading books all the time - it can mean sorting through a ton of books, regularly pointing people toward books or DVDs or audiobooks, being tech support for library databases and apps, and dealing with a bunch of people that mess around in the library. Libraries being community centers instead of a store means dealing with all kinds of people probably... 0_0
Not gonna lie, the first one hits hard. That is every college girl's nightmare. Most colleges are pretty vast and have dark or wooded areas. My own college had various walkways surrounded by darkness only a few feet away. That would be terrifying
YUP. I worked night shifts at my college library and that loooooong walk from the parking lot through the dark empty(?) quad surrounded by big oak trees and old campus buildings always gave me the shivers, ESPECIALLY at 3 am.
i mean I wouldn’t call the first guy a creep because I sometimes forget my school ID and I forgot where my dorm is/ what it’s called because I never cared to look
@@anthonylesley982Very true! I am a true crime junkie. Many channels that I follow religiously happened to have shared haunting and unsettling University mysteries, mostly unsolved and half of them were about students disappearing or getting murdered on their way to their dorms. Super creepy.
Damn that first story is terrifying. Shes so lucky those two guys were nearby- shes right, its hard to imagine the trauma those who arent as lucky as her go through. Happens far too often.
University libraries are surprisingly eerie. In mine, all the lights go off except for your corner, it's dead silent and pitch black outside. You just feel extremely watched.
My twin used to work in her college library years ago and she said that one of the creepiest things was that in one section of the library, there were always big horse flies at all times. They'd kill the flies but they'd just eventually come back to this one particular wall but no one could ever figure out why. My true crime creator curiosity always wondered why no one bothered to get into the wall to see what was inside. And it wasn't something that happened every so often. She said the flies were gone in the winter but would be back by spring and the flies were there fore the two years she worked there
@@TheTwinFiles In the UK we had a massive fruit fly epidemic last summer and nobody is quite sure why. This year, nothing. Again nobody is sure why that is.
Man you know the second story isn't true because he said he got ice cream from McDonald's and you know all McDonald's ice cream machine are always broken 😂
These are so chilling. The first one is probably one of my worst fears that lingered when I was attending university. One of our libraries was definitely haunted in the third floor. When I was in the bathroom singing on the loo (because I was alone and feeling a certain way; the acoustics were great) I heard this knock on the stall next to me. I apologized and stopped figuring someone was annoyed with my singing. I went to wash my hands. The door flew open and I went to apologize to whoever I annoyed; but there was nothing there. The door pushed open as if someone’s hand did. I didn’t say anything and just walked out. Never went to that bathroom up till my final year
Yikes. That would freak me out. Never had anything supernatural happen but the last night terror I had was when I was trying to get a light to turn on and when it was dim I heard laughing. Then I realized I was asleep because after that laugh I actually woke up.
I swear this guy can make ANYTHING sound scary. The library is supposed to be my happy place man. 😭 Great vid as always though, you will always be my favourite RU-vidr of all time.
As a guy who works at a library. I would say the eeriest part is mostly the basement. We have to shelve books that either cannot be checked out or due to the limited storage. Sometimes it can be a bit weird to be alone especially since the basement is running on a sensor. So if the room goes dark out of the blue. It feels like someone could pop out of nowhere or hang on top of the bookshelves staring at me like those haunted house attractions. Other scary parts are definitely when people demand too much for help to the point they want you to be next 2 you all the time. 😅 But overall, normally stuff at the library is good. Stay safe everyone!
Everywhere just hits different at night. I used to use our computer labs after hours (we had 24hr access) and it was a whole different vibe at that time of night, despite the lights being on and everything running as normal. There were sometimes people there, but you were always wary of every little noise, or hearing the door open at 1am, or expecting someone to follow you into the toilets, all sorts. And when you ventured out into the night again... My sister is a nurse and says it's the same working nights in her hospital, despite the fact that hospitals are largely running a full 24hr service and are never really 'quiet'. She says that the corridors, storage areas etc. that are totally fine by day sometimes seem a bit off at night. There are streets near me which are no problem at 3pm, but at 3am... hell no. Despite the fact such street is always pretty quiet. 3am just hits very different.
Okay can I just say- you are so brave. I could literally never do this job. I’m so paranoid and also dream up scenarios constantly to the point I would terrify myself. I’d literally have to call my bf every time I walked down there 😭
I used to work at Mortuary & Cemetery. The book logs were kept in the Mortuary basement and I had to occasionally go down there to grab deeds/death certificates and that sort of thing. I hated it.
One thing I've noticed is your videos have been getting longer as of late. I REALLY like that, as the longer the vid, the more detailed or in-depth the stories are!
Story #2 is my nightmare as a parent. Story #1 is absolutely terrifying and I couldn't imagine how that poor girl felt during all of that. As a mom though, I'd freak the fuck out if i couldn't find my child. This is exactly why they stick to me like glue whenever we go somewhere.
To the security guard in the first story, did you or your team think it may have been a bad idea to have a young lady walk back to her dorm, alone, at night, with a strange guy who's not even a student roaming around outside?
I know! He escorted a now identified threat that was gonna go predator on her. She was trapped at the library, she required a escort to her dorms at that point.
@@FlyLeah I would’ve escorted him off campus and then escorted her to her dorms. That creeper could’ve possibly kidnapped her and then SA’d her. Maybe even killed her to prevent her from identifying him. You can never truly know a creeper wants. Only thing you can ever know for sure is that they *WANT* their target and nothing else.
....there is one branch in my system where it is a normal occurrence to read in the incident reports that the trash cans inside and outside of the building is on fire....again
After watching this, I have officially added "Never go to the library" as a new addition to my list of things to never do. Thanks Mr. Nightmare! Edit: I'm joking, but I still will never look at the library again!
If you base your activities and limiting your outings on youtube horror stories, you'll never leave your house and still never feel safe. Just get a gun lol
Story number one made me so mad. If that was my kid, I would've sued the university because that security guy should have done more to prevent the events that happened. The guy wasn't even a real student and he literally tried to abduct her and the only thing security did was remove him from the building?? Hell no!! They should've walked OP back to her dorm room and send out alerts because you never know what kind of crazy people are out there. She could've been killed.
Sue them for what? The security guard made the guy leave the library. The attempted abduction happened afterwards. You can't hold the security guard responsible for not stopping every possible bad thing that could happen.
@@tekbarrier the guy wasn’t a student and that’s on security for even allowing the dude in the library/on campus. He was harassing OP and that guard should’ve made him leave campus and made sure OP got back safely. Like I said you never know what crazy things people will do.
Second story chilled me to the bone.🥺🥺 Poor kid dodged a bullet there! Frightens me to think what could have happened if the announcement didn't come through on time. While we are at it, why did his mom leave him unattended there? And to think that she did it often! Maybe the library had security but clearly it wasn't tight enough to keep creeps away or else that pervert wouldn't have been able to sneak in. I would never leave my kids without any supervision just like that.
He didn’t, it was made up. A kid that young would never get away in that situation, wouldn’t be able to just run past a grown man and the guy wouldn’t go through all that and then just let the kid get away
@@jmoriarty8000 Um, wow you know how to 'detect all scenarios'? How do you know no kid has never escaped a man? How do you know the man didn't just panic or know it was time to escape undetected? Because he sure did.
If anyone ever gives you crap about your voiceovers just know that there are many of us out here who really appreciate an actual human being narrating videos rather than software.
My wife is a librarian. Thankfully she works at a library on a military base. Other than weird sounds, and possible poltergeist activity it's pretty safe.
I work in an asylum that is presumed haunted. Apart from minor cult meetings and eight foot tall humanoid figures darting across from room to room, it's pretty safe
The second one made me realize that there’s a lot of similar stories to this on the channel. It’s so upsetting that so many creeps like this exist in real life. No little kid should have to endure in that trauma.
I remember when I was visiting a library in town to use the computer, a weird man kept following me around and finally approached me saying , exscuse me malm you are very cute what’s your name ? , I told him my name then told him I’m just here to use the computer not her for dating , he then walked away and I started doing my research, he came back moments later asking what bra size I wear and that my chest looks good , I ended up getting up and leaving as fast as I could , I could see his reflection through the glass doors following me I ran into the nearest women’s bathroom and hid inside for like a hour hoping he’d be gone , that was extremely scary for me I wouldn’t wish that on anyone
for anyone that wonders the translates to english as "Absolute legend 👏 . I've been listening to him since covid and I'm literally hooked. I didn't miss any talk from him" yes i took the time to transate this lol
@@whatzmyusrname i also had to copy and paste it, thats why there is a "lol" also known as a "laugh-out-loud" you may be 4 parrallel universes infront of that comment, but im 5 and 1/2 parralel universes ahead of YOU
You are truly a lifesaver. Work is slow and I leave soon. That upload notification could not have come at a better time. Great story telling to make time pass by.
Being anywhere alone is unsettling, especially at night and after closing. Ive worked at an amusement park for the last 8 years, and every so often I'll be walking through the park alone at night after closing and everyone else is gone, and its soo eerie. This is of course in regards to the final story
Yet the bizarre thing is you'd probably be totally happy with a deserted, eerie environment if it was during daytime. Like I said, everything hits different at night.
@@halfbakedproductions7887 oh yeah definitely. I've been alone in the same park during the day and it's just cool. Weird seeing it so empty, but not eerie like at night
After a crap show of a week at work this is a great way to unwind 🥳. Thank you Mr. Nightmare for the consistent uploads. I remember many late nights at the library . So glad I found your page 😃
*I just realized the later music in Story 1, is the same music he used for the (last) 1st story in 10 True Stories: Volume 5, nearly a DECADE ago.* And of course in Story 3, *the beginning (spooky but chill) music often used in his older videos, even Llama Arts’s (early) animation videos.*
The first story was infuriating to me and I have so many questions. Like why weren't police contacted as soon as it was discovered that there was a man faking being a student? Why was he just told to leave and nothing was even done when he was clearly a threat? Why was the student told to "just be careful" going back to her dorm? Someone should have definitely escorted her. Where is the preventative action! This could have gone so much worse. Im so glad those two guys were there and that the freak was arrested!
I worked at a library for 3 years and stayed after hours to shelve and catalogue books since I couldn't come earlier because of school. I was listening to Corpse Husband's stories (I only just discovered Mr. Nightmare recently) while putting up decorations for a teen Halloween drawing contest we were doing and it was super creepy vibes being alone! The children's section lights were off, but the after-hours book drop was in that section, so it scared the crap out of me when someone would drop off a book and it made noise 😂
I was so excited to see that your latest lot of scary stories were about libraries, as I work in one myself. Thanks for your wonderful narration - it had me transfixed!
1st story: well done for the two distinguished gentleman stepping in and well done to the security officer for escorting the POS outta the building…. But as an armed security officer myself, I would’ve gone outta my way and offered the lady a walk back to her dorm. Then advise her to lock the front door.
Story 2 is the most unsettling, I don’t have kids but I don’t know what i would do if I knew that happened to my kid because I left them in the library
Not really. Mr. Nightmare now is not the same as in the past. He was a lot more creative and unique and different back then compared to now. He used to do things as interactive stories and stories with a twist at the end and stories with a mysterious ending and so on. Also if you look at how many views his videos get now compared to back then you can see a huge difference. His videos were getting way more views then compared to now even though he has more subscribers now. That alone should tell you something.
@@darkknight1242 Okay? It doesn't really matter if his older videos gained more views compared to his newer ones. That doesn't mean HE himself got worse. He just got older and changed how things work. We all do eventually. Doesn't mean he is worse than before. Though that's your opinion so I can't argue against that.
Yes! Oh Mr. Nightmare, you're a lifesaver. I was about to trawl through some old videos when I spotted new upload. It's the best feeling! Thank you for another awesome video. Incidentally, I once had an actual nightmare about a library. The road that I lived in as a child, had a small library at the end of it. It was quite a creepy building and always seemed dark and shadowy. One night, I had a dream that I was in the library alone and it was pitch black. Out of nowhere, an unseen hand tickled me. Thankfully, in real life, the only library related nightmare I had, was being told off in front of my friends, for returning a book three weeks late. It was probably a bit of a nightmare for my dad when he allowed me to take an ice lolly into the library and I dropped it and made a mess. The stern librarian made him get down on his knees and clean it up🤣🤣🤣
After that last story, I would quit that job. That’s traumatizing. Seeing a person super high on something that made her like a rabid zombie. Pure nightmare fuel
These college libraries should offer security personnel to walk girls back to their dorm or give them a golf cart to quickly drive them there. They make tons of money. They can afford it. The deans of these colleges make 700,000 dollars a year. Or dont stay open so late. That is an open door for somerhing bad to happen.
I hope the girl from the first story passed her exams. I truly felt bad for her. What a load of bullshit trauma to have just the days before the exams..
Damn my heart literally skipped a bit and anxiety went 📈 in 2nd story when the man turned off the lights right after the announcement 😰 really had Goosebumps. Mr Nightmare 🔥💯
