You missed another big issue. On the slide side of your slide out inspect for cracks in the underbelly edge or slide ski and the rail. I didn't inspect until it was too late. Add skis to my rig to help prevent future wear/tear on the edge of the underbelly material. This tip can save thousands of dollars in future repairs.
Planning on our first RV and doing my research for tips ahead of time. Glad I found your channel and looking forward to watching more of your content. Thanks for the content and your detailed information..... really helpful for the newbies 👍🏻. (NEW sub'r)
Excellent Tony! Your welcome. When we started 5 years ago I did the same before buying my RV….research! Glad you found our channel because we have tons of safety videos, preventative maintenance, repairs and product reviews. Good luck out there and stay safe. 👍🏼
I’ve seen online a company that I believe is in Arizona that replaces the shin tel system completely, supposed to be the cats meow but that the case how many people would drive from all over the country to do that? I would surely do it if they weren’t so far. I’ve got swhinntekon my 2021 motorhome class c and that’s the bedroom and living room. I lube the motor wheel with dry silicone and the seals I use the 3 in 1 seal lube for rv’s. Works great and for slide outs I have toppers so I use a long broom stick with a rag tied to it with the conditioner soaked into it and that gets it, also do the seals inside for the slides. Bought the same as you do. I even use it on my radiator hoses and any other rubber under the hood and doors.
new sub here, greetings from North Carolina, very helpfull show,im thinking about getiing a camper full time.this help alot, thanks for sharing your wisdom
Thanks for posting, I just replaced some rotten wood for a lady in her Jayco 30 foot rv. She wanted the carpet in front of her slideout removed due to mould and smell. I removed the carpet that slide out slides over, also replaced the rotten 5/8 inch plywood with new 5/8 inch plywood. Now she wants the vinyl floor replaced since it has black mould on it. Is there anything I need to know about how the slide out slides on top of floor? Since carpet that was on top of vinyl is removed, can the slideout scratch the new vinyl floor? Thanks for posting your excellent and very informative videos, I really appreciate them! 😊
I noticed that the Schwinteck slide subfloor shown in the video has gotten wet at some point. Have you addressed that at all? I have a solitude an am experiencing the same thing.
What is the river seal on top of the slide out called and you does one replace that? (Is under a canopy that is attached to the slide out) thanks in advance!
How about the floor corners of the slide I see a lot of water damage on the floor. Would eternabond help or some sort of sealant. I see people putting up slideout ski to prevent water from coming in to the corners
