Mass was benign. Be cautious about rushing to get hysterectomies black women. Many in the past and today have been researched to be unnecessary. I’m suddenly seeing so many videos that seem to be encouraging this drastic measure. If you are in extreme pain or bleeding excessively, I can understand. But please do your research. Don’t be railroaded. MRI, ultrasound machines, chemo and all that stuff has to be paid for. Patients are needed to do this. Some medicines that patients were told would help, actually worsened the problem. There is much information out there ladies that many of you don’t know about. Do some research on your condition before running to get under the knife. That’s all I’m encouraging you to do.
My sister has iron-deficiency anemia for 4 years. Every spring she has dizziness, paleness, low hemoglobin. In terms of gynecology, she did not have such excessive menstruation. 2 months ago, these symptoms started again. She had prolonged menstruation. Weakness. She got a little better with medical treatment. But still these symptoms started. We went to the gynecologist again and the polyp has to be removed (size 11 millimeters). But in general she is weak and I want to get stronger. I am afraid of the polyp operation. Will there be any complications with the operation? I am afraid because he is underweight. The doctor told us that he will be given a transfusion beforehand. But before that, we must eat well at home, he cannot eat well because of the feeling of vomiting, but we must try. Hemoglobin 112, what is this? Does that mean? Will they halve this number? Also, the result of the Pap test is normal. Does this rule out any cancer? I'm still worried.
10 days ago I had a robotic assisted hysterectomy. I had my uterus, cervix, ovaries and Fallopian tubes removed. I had a cyst on my right ovary the size of a large grapefruit, my uterus was swollen and I had a lot of fibroids on the inside of my uterus and unbeknown to my surgeon, I also had a large tumor that, thank goodness, was benign. Great surgeon but I don't feel that she's giving me very good aftercare advice. yesterday she told me I could lift up to 10 lb within the first 2 weeks and 20 lbs after 2 weeks. Yesterday was 10 days post surgery and I lifted some shopping that weighed about 10 lb and today I am paying the price. I am in a lot of pain in my lower abdomen. also I have some kind of infection in my vagina which she describe some kind of cream that is actually burning my vagina so I am going to get some vagisil and hope that works. could you please advise women how much weight they can actually lift after a hysterectomy and the time frame from which the weights change? Thank you
This is so helpful. I'm most sad about no yoga and weightlifting😅 i thought i could go to the pool after 3 weeks, but now i know to avoid the pool for 6 weeks. Jumping in the pool ,them laying out in the sun. I'm in AZ and the pool is my passion 🎉

Hi Govani, I need your opinion, please. I'm 54, booked for hysterectomy in 5 weeks. Lots of bleeding, big fibroid, no energy. But its a major surgery and I'm on the fence because I will most likely hit menopause soon naturally. Problem solved, no?
The biggest issue with me and my husband right now is sex. This Tuesday is the 6wk mark. I had my surgery 4/18/2023. My husband is always wanting sex. I do too. He can mstbte I can't. The other issue is cleaning my house. My husband won't make his kids do anything and I feel I have to. But my incisions are right at counter height. So I lean in so I don't touch the counter and it hurts my back
That’s a big question, because my mom is going to help me but not all the time , and I can’t count 100 percent with my ex husband we just got divorced but is not the same , really stressful and i have date for mines in 2 weeks
I'm having a hysterectomy may 30th I have 2 autistic children with adhd and no help what so ever. The hospital will admit my kids when I go into surgery and they will be in pediatric side own room and discharged when I'm discharged... but after that I'm on my own 😭 I think lots of hospitals offer help like after care nurse but I didn't ask so.... wish me luck smh
Im allowed to drive 24 hours after my surgery as long as I’m not taking the prescribed pain meds i have and ill be going back to work 3 weeks on light duty
#4 is so me 😢 the thought of no exercise has been holding me back from surgery.... I'm now scheduled next week. I'm gonna miss the gym and working out or stecher or even not being able to do yoga!
Because it isn’t safe to do them. It’s the same thing as a woman having a cesarean section. The same muscles are impacted by it. With a laparoscopic hysterectomy, everything comes out through your vagina. And any surgery involving any part of your torso causes shoulder pain. That’s why driving is a no.
So I guess I should just keep on living with the pain of these fibroids then? Or the nausea for two days every month, the migraines during my period, the back pain and feeling like I’ve got a river flowing every month? No thank you. There are many reasons why women need to get this done. Not just cancer.
