I made a mini serving and used cherries instead of blueberries. It turned out so good, tasted like a black forest cake🙌 Thankyou for the recipe!

anawolf92 Divide the ingredients by 3 (1/3 the entire recipe) Bake at 175° C for 15-17 minutes. A little tip - If the batter becomes too runny, add 1/2 tbsp coconut or almond flour ✨

This is amazing. I see other recipes that have 40 ingredients and don't come out looking as moist and succulent as this cake! Cannot wait to try it. I haven't had cake or sweets in so long after finally figuring out gluten was killing me slowly.

It is uber moist, almost leaning towards a pudding cake consistency😋😋 And yes so simple! Well fortunately there are tons of GF recipes out there nowadays for you to try!

I used frozen cherries instead of blueberries, and only used half the amount of sugar. It was perfectly sweet and so good! Thanks so much for this easy recipe!

i did not have sugar because i never buy it so i just threw like 4 medjool dates with the blueberries and blended it together. i ate half the batter 😂 that was seriously amazing !! i am in love with it!! the oven is currently preheating

This is THE cake! I've been looking for years to find a recipe like this, but i was dying after one piece because it was so sweet, I'm going to reduce the sugar but this is DEFINITELY my new favourite cake, thanks so much for sharing this

I just made this in a mini serving and divided the ingredients by 4 and then microwaved it because I didn't want to wait to bake a small serving and it was SOO DELICIOUS. The blueberries give a nice tartness that pairs well with the rich chocolateyness and the sugar makes it sweet. it took me less than 10 minutes. I made a chocolate date icing to go on top and I just about died. I love your recipes!

Probably for 1 min..I would start with 30 bc every microwave is different then do it in 15 sec bursts until it's cooked thru

I think this works so well because I heard that blueberries actually have some omega 3 fatty acid in them so that's probably what helps it bake without actually adding fat or oil! And omega 3 makes it extra good for you! I can't wait to try thisss thank youuu!

This cake was absolutely amazing! He did add more blueberry purée then recommended (he is notorious for not following recipes but so I am lol) and it did come out pretty fudgey. Which was totally okay with me 😄 most of the guests really liked the cake and couldn't believe it was only 5 ingredients. Most of the people who didn't like it weren't fans of dark chocolate to begins with. To me this cake was perfect because I love dark chocolate, it was very moist, sweet & rich. 🙂

I can't follow a recipe very well either tbh, always gotta tweak something, but I'm glad the extra blueberry version was still tasty! It's pretty fudgey to begin with, that's why I prefer it cold. Omg, so I made this but didn't have baking powder so I subbed a tsp of baking soda and used cane sugar cause no coconut sugar and holy crap. This is pretty unbelievable. I have a serious problem with wanting to eat a lot of sweet crap after dinner, and I've given up on depriving myself so I'd at least rather have something that's not too unhealthy. I could barely get a few forkfuls of this down, not because it was bad it was freaking delicious but just SO rich you can't eat more than that. I will always have this in my house now.

This recipe is amazing! I substituted date paste for the coconut sugar and it still came out OK although a little gooey on the inside. Thank you for the chocolaty goodness!

I made this for Christmas it was very fudgey and didn't hold together but it tasted very good. I give it a thumbs up 👍 and I might try it again.

Hey, I just tried this and it tasted soo amazing!! However it was just soo gooey I had to call it mouse instead of cake hahah do you think if I were to add a cup of oat flour that would help be more cakelike? Or should I stick to only 1/2 a cup? Thanks

Just a little update; made this and it's PHENOMONAL MY GOD!! And I made some date caramel and drizzled it over too (6 dates blended w a cup or two of water and some Vanilla extract) :)) like caramel fudgy goodness!!!!!

Hipster Zweipunktnull I haven't tried it personally, so I can't be sure. Applesauce-based desserts are often kind of chewy and dry, whereas the blueberry puree makes it really moist and rich. I really suggest a berry puree, but you are welcome to try the applesauce. Thanks for watching and commenting :)

Could you put the batter in small baking cups and bake? and if so, same amt of time? I just made this and my entire being is filled with rich chocolate love! My kids said it was amazing and asked me to make this for their birthday cakes.

Yes fresh berries will definitely work! This is one of my favorites, and has been remade countless times with good reviews. It is incredibly rich and fudgey though, so I hope you really like chocolate :) If not I have other chocolate cupcakes or cakes as well!

We use a scale in the Netherlands. Maybe that's a tip to measure out the exact amount of puree? :-)

+worldsojourner1 Hmmm that's an interesting thought. I think the texture will end up very different, but I think it could still work actually! I haven't tried it so it's hard to say for sure.

Hi Hanna! This recipe is already so super moist since it's flourless that I don't suggest dates here. For a date sweetened chocolate cake I would go with this recipe: www.feastingonfruit.com/everything-free-chocolate-cupcakes/ (it can be made in cake form too!)

Hi! I re-watched this cake video because I'm currently trying to work on my belly bloating. Even when I don't eat much, I still get it, and it's very frustrating for me. So, I'm trying to avoid yeasted things (cause of air), cheese and milk of course, fruit mixed with other complex foods (especially apples, which I'm a big fan of), beans and gluten. Do you think that this cake would be all right to eat? It has blueberries, but they'd hardly cause bloating, in my opinion.

+Muriel Vittori I struggle with bloating too, so I try to avoid most of those things in my recipes. I think this recipe would be fine, I've never had an issue with it causing bloating personally but we are all different of course. Apples are especially bad because of sorbitol, but blueberries are very low in sorbitol and don't cause an issue for hardy anyone. And since it's flour-free that should be helpful too. I think yes!

+Cathleen Kuo Some sort of leavening is definitely necessary, the only substitute would be baking soda + a little bit of lemon juice to activate it (about 1/2 tsp should be plenty)

Should be just fine! Although you may want to strain the puree first to get rid of the raspberry/blackberry seeds😊

Wanna try this out *-* but which kind of cocoa powder did u use? bc it looks so light-brown normal baking cocoa is way darker (and i think it's not baking cocoa isn't it?) Is it more like Nesquik cocoa powder or what? Thanks for answering Xxx

Mariiechan It is actually raw cacao powder, not cocoa powder at all. This happens to be the Navitas Natural brand (navitasnaturals.com/product/441/Cacao-Powder.html) which is my favorite brand. If you want to use regular cocoa powder, then I normally just use the Hershey brand of cocoa powder. I would never use Nesquik cocoa powder as that as added sugar and other things. Mariiechan I use the exact same amount of Hershey's cocoa powder as I do of the Navitas Naturals cacao powder. Any cocoa powder or cacao powder will work and the amount will be the same :)

So I tried it with a 1/4 cup strawberry and 1/4 cup banana. I also added an egg yolk (I needed the whites for the meringue on top). It worked just fine. I wonder what would happen if I used half the amount of blueberry and replace the rest with pureed black beans. This recipe is a bit more like a brownie than cake so I have a feeling it will work given the other back bean brownie recipes I have tried. I might not make those for a while though

Hmm try applesauce maybe! Or if you have any other berries you could puree those, just the seedy ones like blackberries/raspberries you have to really puree well for texture purposes

I use sucralose (same as splenda, I have the Aldi one that comes in a big bag) I have used it in a 1:1 ratio for lots of recipes that call for sugar. Since it’s coconut sugar though you may want to add a tinnnyyyy bit of molasses to get that same rich flavor. I’m talking like 1/4 tsp.

+Eltsu 80 You can use any granulated sweetener (cane sugar, date sugar, etc.) in place of the coconut sugar. I'm sure there is a way to make it with powdered stevia as well, but I personally don't like or work with stevia so I can't tell you how much you will need.

Um you could try it, but they are quite different and I'm afraid actually too sweet. If so, definitely blend them with water. Other berry purees would work if you have those around.

Yes, mixed berries will work. But if you use raspberries or blackberries you may have to strain out the seeds. This recipe does not work very well as a cupcake, but I do have a chocolate cupcake recipe here: www.feastingonfruit.com/healthy-chocolate-cupcakes/
