Ugh, this is the thing I struggle with the most and am ALWAYS targeting in my skincare routines. I have combo-dehydrated skin, and it does nooooot bode well with any sort of hyperpigmentation, it takes so so long to heal. You guys always post such relevant content, and I'm happy that you gave us some less harsh alternatives to help h-p! I've noticed that when my skin is well-hydrated, and I'm exfoliating regularly (2-3 times a week) it always helps the most! I've been struggling more this winter cos the air is so cold, my dehydration is like, 200% worse so I'm constantly spritzing with mists all day xD I just implemented the goodal vit-c serum in my morning routine at your guys' rec and omg! I seriously am noticing a difference already after a week! : )
Try good molecules discoloration serum!!! It's not drying, it's affordable, and when I use it is when I notice the biggest change in my hyperpigmentation personally. Especially with exfoliating as well. I have 2 extras on hand rn cause I love it so much. Morning and night and within a week I noticed my hyperpigmentation going away
@@legendninja2023 omg, it’s gonna be a lot to type here haha! For the most part i use the same 3-4 products at day and night with the exception of a couple serums switched out. Morning cleanse w/ Krave Beauty Matcha Hemp face wash. 2nd step Soo Good toner pads, followed by Wishtrend Quad boosting essence (my skin is really dehydrated so I have to pack on moisture/hydration) then I go in with my day serums, which would be the Wishtrend polyphenols in propolis serum + Goodall vit c serum. I usually do a light moisturizer that changes depending on the season and a sunscreen ~ Night time is mostly the same except I double cleanse , then instead of the Goodall vit c serum, I use the Krave GBR followed by a heavier moisturizer for winter. Right now I’m using the Laniege cica sleeping mask. I try to stay consistent with the same products and go ham on hydrating layers ! I usually spritz some sort of mist in between steps because everything evaporates from my skin in like 2 seconds lmao.
@@Doggy5260 omg!! I tried it back in the day before they reformulated it and tbh I didn’t notice a huge difference, but I loved the consistency and feel of it so much. at the time I was also super inconsistent with my routine so that’s probably why I didn’t notice much. I actually do have one in my backup skincare stash right now! I plan to use it when I’m all done with my Goodall vitamin c serum :) I love good molecules so much though, they really are a great brand!
I bought the ordinary products to start out and it was doing good. Until my skin got very dry from using glycolic acid soap from L'Oreal and dehydration not enough water and electric heat on high a bad mix caused dark spots to get darker and peel off like a scab. I believe it burned my skin.
Azelaic acid is amazing! I have hormonal acne, which happens to come with a lot of redness in my skin. And nothing touched it until I started using azelaic acid. I was so floored by the results! It's become a staple in my routine 😊
The Paula's Choice Discoloration Repair is truly excellent and it not only works amazingly for hyperpigmentation but gives your overall complexion an awesome glow up! 🤗
Which one is better for age 29? I have acne scars, acne pores too.. Extreme Blackhead And milia :( ruin my face. The most thing that i hate is i have light skin, so all is visible 😭
This came at such a good timing. I’ve been watching your videos for 2 years now, and I’ve learned a lot, thanks to you. My hyperpigmentation, acne scars and pores have been acting crazy these past few weeks and I’m so happy that you made this video. Best timing, I’m so glad! Thank you so much, I absolutely love your channel ❤️
I like using tranexamic acid, it's in quite a lot of my Japanese products like the Hada labo premium whitening range. I like the Face Theory Exaglow, and also use BoJ arbutin, niacinamide, Paulas choice azelaic acid booster and the glow recipe guava vitamin C to tackle pigmentation
Real deal acne scars weren't addressed. Two topicals that help wirlth atrophic scarring are Rx .3% adapalene and 1% tazorac. Taz is a beast so start low and work up to 1%. There are studies on both.
@@suzannelove I think it's probably comparable depending on the strength. You'll have to check the articles and studies. In my personal experience the taz works wonders. Retin A makes my face redder, and I'm Fitzpatrick 5. I'm just now starting the adapalene.3% (I've had it for a while, but my skin keeps going bonkers for other reasons [hyaluronic acid] so I haven't kept it up.) I think the adapalene atrophic scar studies were done on Fitzpatrick 3 and 4, so that bodes well for all skintones. I chose adapalene this time because it's cheaper than taz with goodrx, but I think I'll go back to taz when I'm done with it. I believe adapalene is most effective when used twice daily or with benzoyl peroxide, which is a lot for my skin.
thank you for the timestamps and prices in the description. for vitamin c i’ve been using the melano cc that hasn’t oxidized at all, and i’ve been storing it in my bathroom. i’ve also been using the facetheory 20 regena vitamin c serum. it’s a derivative of vitamin c, and it hasn’t oxidized either. a little goes a long way with the ft one. i use two drops. if i use 3 drops, it’s too oily. jumiso has their all day brightening and balancing serum which has sea buckthorn and ascorbic acid in it. it’s super gentle, and mine hasn’t oxidized either. it’s good for a beginner vitamin c or to use on days when your skin is sensitive.
Well Niacinamide and licorice have been working wonders in lightening my hyperpigmentation Also rice fermented extracts are great I strongly believe in the power of plants The only acids I’ve been using are BHA and Gluconolactone (10% PHA) and that’s that Will rank up the use of my SA serum to 3x a week 1 week before my period to keep my pores as clear as possible to avoid unnecessary breakouts
I live in Australia and it’s so annoying that we don’t get a lot of the Azelaic acid, tranexamic acid and alpha Arbutin products that you mentioned. Is it possible that you know alternative products that we should have in Australia, that we can use and that sells here ?
Vitamin C and niacinamide are also good skin brightening options! We really love Go-To Skincare products for that reason! (It's also an Australian brand!)
Peacebeauty it’s the Goddess LA Mone’t checking in from Maryland! New to the esthetician game but I move here from NC to grow and dominate let’s go 💓🔥🦋🌹
You actually cant put your actives after the Paulas choice mask because it doesn't matter whether the mask is on your skin or not. It is the fact that the AHAs and BHAs have changed the structure of your skin and has made it more sensitive so actives can aggravate your skin. I got this from Lab Muffin. Also mandelic acid doesn't have a high molecular weight. It has a big molecule size. Weight is different to size
Hello dear. I m 24 year women . My skin barrier is totally damage due to acne and other spots . Please suggest some products to repair damage skin barrier
@Beauty Within I would like to know your opinion on the brand Cos de baha, especially since their vitamin c is their most popular product but they also have azelaic acid, arbutin, and tranexamic acid since it is mentioned in the video.
I had a 15% azelaic acid proscription and I was told that if your skin is damp when you apply it can cause irritation and that it sometimes tingles but after a few days your skin will get use to it, I hope that helps someone else if the try azelaic acid
If you're wondering why that is, it's cause if your skin is damp it sinks your products deeper into your skin then if it would be dry. Hence you can't use strong peelings on a damp face.
Hi Beautywithin, may I ask if I can use Paula's choice discoloration repair serum & the Paula's choice 25% aha +2%bha together? Or I should use it 1 product at a time. Thanks beauties ❤️😍🙌
I love your channel!!!! You have helped me so much with my skincare and I can't thank you enough!! Whenever I'm bored I just binge watch your videos ❤❤❤
Does Paula’s choice discoloration serum works for dark spots caused by KP ? Even though I use exfoliants which smoothens my skin and removes redness but I couldn’t remove the dark black spots caused by KP.
I started using Naturium Azaleic Acid. I found that my skin felt itchy afterward to the point I didn’t want to use it again. I watched a Naturium/Mixed Makeup video on RU-vid discussing this product. Susan Yara said it does itch when you first start using the product and you just have to grin and bear it but, it will go away after more use. I don’t think she mentioned why it makes you itch. Thanks for all the info! I really love these products.
Hi Felicia, thanks for all the nice information on these ingredients! 😊 I do have a question: some of the ordinary products also contain alpha-arbutin & azelaic acid. Do you consider these also as affective/good products?
Fel Paulas choice exfoliating wash off mask seems to be quite potent. Can sensitive skin tolerate it? I am able to use peach & lily rebooting face mask. Can it work for me what you say?
I really enjoy every aspect of your video(s)- informations, thoroughness, your wonderful personality...absolutely everything! So, I don't want this suggestion to be taken as an insult, nagging or something else- could you pay a little bit attention and say less "like"? It is especially obvious at the beginning of the video. Later in the video it's almost non existent and it's 👌... but the beginning is a bit irritating. Regarding this video- you've covered this topic perfectly. Wonderfully in depth. Spot on! 👏👏👏
Thank you so much for this video!!!! i also want to know if the paulas choice clinical 0.3% retinol + 2% bakuchiol treatment work with hyperpigmentation too??
Is it alright for a teenager to use any of these if not can you please tell something that will help me with my hyperpigmentation and acne scars. ( I have a lot of hyperpigmentation around my face, neck and body :(
Among Paula's Choice discoloration serum and their azelaic acid booster, which will you did like to recommend for oily acne prone skin, I do have some leftover acne marks which are in between red and brown 😅😅 tqqqq
What are some products/ ingredients I should think about for uneven pores and texture? I have so many in my T zone now and I don't know what's the best approach 😓 I have oily combo acne-prone skin. I definitely heard about exfoliating but I'm a teen still and I don't know if I should start getting into that or not.
Niacinamide really really helps! But some people may have an allergic reaction to it but you can give it a try! I was 18 when i started using it and totally solved my skin texture.
Hopefully the information was helpful to you! And yes you can mix niacinamide into a vitamin c serum as long as your skin reacts well or unless a product specifically recommends against combining them (which is very few but I know the Ordinary advises against combining niacinamide for their vitamin C serums)
I really love & appreciate your work/ channel ❤️ you are like skincare besties 🤭 and I want to know about this one active called " TRETENOIN " which is used for acne treatment & more, individually or with other actives like clindamycin & others. This is something prescribed by dermats so it will be helpful if you can research and educate us more on this.🙃
Hi Felicia! I absolutely love your videos. So informative and helpful. I deal with deep acne scars all over my checks & forehead. Which product would help me with my problem?
Can you also please do a video about hypo pigmentation, cuz im dealing with them both and there is hardly any information out there about it thank you❤️❤️
I have rosacea. The redness and small bumps never really gone. Because of it, I never can treat my hyperpigmentation and pores because the active ingredients will cause my condition worst. Please help recommend product for hyperpigmentation and pores for ppl with rosacea.
hi im struggling to cure hyperpigmentation and im about to buy physical exfoliator hoping it would fix my skin. But i'm very hesitant because it might damaged my skin more. Should i buy physical exfoliator or should i invest on skincare????
Hi, I use Origins Vitamin C moisturizer and Drunk Elephant protini as moisturizer, is it ok to use Glow recipe pink toner with either of them? which serum can i add to my routine for hyperpigmentation from acne marks, except for i have use good genes in the past and it helped alot along with UFO face oil. which active will be good to use in morning/ evening skincare routine along with my current moisturizers?
Would anyone recommend/have any advice for using actives while on Roaccutane (isotretinoin)? It makes your skin so sensitive so I don’t want to cause irritation but my hyperpigmentation and scarring is bad.
Hi! I’ve been using that medication for years for my acne, what I realized works best is using hydrating products and calming ingredienta, forget actives your skin is too irritated. Would recomend centella asiatica, propolis or alpha arbutin. Please be patient! It is not magic. If you have acces to Good Molecules, they have a brightening toner and serum thats done wonders for my skin 💯 recomend
Thanks for this, super helpful! I currently use Facetheory Azelaic (15%) and Exaglow (Tranexamic). Have you or anyone here tried their Mandelibright Serum S7? It has 10% mandelic, 2% niacinamide and green tea.
I'm new to using retinol so I am not sure what other products I should avoid while using it together at night. But I want to try incorporating the tranexamic acid and niacinamide together but would it be fine with the retinol? ... Please respond 🥺💕
Aaaawwww I'm so so sorry! 🙈 Didn't realize that. I hope it works for you. I only tried 10% TO which wasn't too effective for me, so I am just about to try the 15% Face Theory. Will see how it goes. 🤗
Really love this video! Thanks :) I wanted to mention that as a rosacea sufferer salicylic acid in all forms is irritating for me but azeliac is not. For that reason I like the ordinary or sometimes get finacea (15%) from my derm with the rosacea spots are bad.
I used to have glass clear skin in my teenage years touchwood dint have any acne problems however I started developing sun spots when I was in college first they were countable and unrecognisable but now they're more prominent and increased in number and covers mostly the high cheek bone areas on my face. I really wish to get my teenage skin back please please suggest some products that actually work. Watching this video from India🇮🇳 with high hopes and more love to you keep sharing more such beautiful videos.🌻🌻
Acne around jawline and chin sounds like hormonal acne to me. You might wanna see a dermatologist. Bc just targetting the acne won't be very effective unless you treat the cause. Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid might help.
I love you girls!!! I just wanna ask some advice: I have some blackheads and nothing seems to help...I use beauty of joseon propolis and cosrx but i can' t see any difference. Something good for me pls??? 😘😘😘
My skin has this 1 or 2 acne (or maybe its pustules) wherein its like a bump underneath the skin that is painful when pressed but the head just wont come out.. So i don't know what to do with it.. The bump minimises over time but when u touch it, it still feels like there is something below the skin surface.. So..yeah.. What do I do?
It's probably a blind pimple and hormonal acne. Using a retinoid (for me 0.1% adapalene) really helped me. I now don't get them as often and if I do get them they dissapear more quickly.
I boight the dr ceurafle propolis serum because of you I LOVE IT, like you said, it’s doing its own tying but I can definitely see the results. And az acid is obviously a great ingredient that is nt very much talked about but things are slithly evolving!! Thank you fel 🌟
This as usual was super helpful! So I had a question about if I can use all these ingredients with actives like retinol or aha/bha/pha’s because typically in the morning I use vit c and niacinamide and in the evening I’ll use paulas choice bha 2% and retinol. Where can I substitute or even add this to my routine?
