5 Keurig 2.0 K-Cup Hacks 

If you open the next section where the display is connected you will see a wire harness that clips into sensor . I unclipped it not cutting any wires and it works perfectly! 😊💪

I was a Finance Controller at the factory in Ohio that developed the K-cup along with Keurig. When the patent expired in 2013, the company I worked for lost the Keurig business; however, quickly picked up on other brand K-Cups. There was only one machine left producing the plastic cups when I left the company. That machine put out around 200,000 cups per hour.

OK, I have to brag: I used your idea for the fluorescent colors but I got a yellow fluorescent index card (just had an extra one my 13 year old was done with). I taped it up there under the "eye" and it opened up all my settings!!! I don't have to mess with it anymore! Now I can return the Sharpies and stickers!

Great Video. I just got my hands on a 2.0 machine and this is the ultimate hack. I will be going with hack number 5 to get over with the restrictions once and for all.

This is great. My clip doesn't always work. But the stickers work like a charm. Thank you so much. I have used the same sticker 3 times so far and I even bought 1,000 of the stickers. So that was the easiest and cheapest of the hack. You are awesome!

I have an older Keurig machine (actually our 2nd one) and love it. I have never actually purchased any K-cups to make coffee. We have always used the re-usable filter with our machines. That was the big selling point for me on my first Keruig machine was that I could have the convenience of making one fresh cup of coffee at a time and still use whatever coffee I wanted. I refuse to fill my garbage with those stupid one time use packs and I also am not going to pay that much for a cup of coffee. I know my current machine is going to wear out one day and now I am going to have figure out what to do replace it. I really think this "new feature" is very short sighted for the company to put in their coffee makers.

I just brought a Keurig K200 and I'm going to try at least 2 of these methods before my Freedom Clip arrives. Thank you

I use the Freedom clip from Rogers coffee. Takes 5 seconds to install and the problem is solved. Clip comes free in every box of coffee they sell. I'm still using the same clip since Dec.

You can also just remove the green wire, without cutting it by unplugging it after opening the machine. You can always put it back in and therefore you will only temporarily void your warranty and if need to be returned just pop it back in and they'll be none the wiser.

Another fun hack (not sure if it's really a hack) but instead of microwaving ramen noodles (which it suggests you don't because of the harmful foam) you can use the Keurig to dispense hot water right over the ramen ^.^ it also taste better this way in my opinion.

I use a generic reusable pod. Make sure the hinged side is facing left in the middle when u drop it in. When u close the lid use a little pressure and hold it down until the display for brewing pops up. Works every time.

All you need is an orange highlighter. Color a 1/2" stripe on the top rim of a pod. Place the pod in the machine with the orange stripe at the notch on left -9 o'clock position. Clise the lid and enjoy.

Just now received a used Keurig K 500 model. I like your hacks. Can you just mark over the k-cup area with markers (orange, yellow, etc.) rather than use the color labels? I’m going to try that hack and see if it works.

I got the freedom clip about 2 years ago - but the thing keeps falling off now. Won't re-clip back into my machine. So now I think I'll splurge at WalMart for those labels!

Post it notes are great for one or two old k cups to be used till you use your old stock up but they get wet quick and I think I plugged a needle in the top for a few minutes doing it. I just wanted to share that its doable with a post it note for once in a while. The orange sticker is best.

Hi I was so SO excited when I saw this video I couldn’t wait to try it out. I have a 2.0 k525..... I’ve try two of the methods I thought would work FOR SURE! I tried coloring the piece of paper with the Sharpie pen and the other one was the neon labels (which was my first choice). BUT NOTHING!!! I GOT AN “OOPS” MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN!! PLEASE HELP.....sad, disappointed & frustrated 😢😩😖

Ok I just saw you use a non 2.0 k-cup I'm trying to use the right 2.0 k-cup I just wanted the full menu so I can brew 16oz any suggestions.

KK60K and my favorite would be the colored coded labels as well. It seems the easiest and less hassle.

Wish I would have seen this, before before purchasing the tabs from Amazon.

Very helpful! Our 2.0 machine is having difficulty reading registered 2.0 k cups with the proper markings. Which I definitely find infuriating.... This machine came close to being slammed against a wall! Such a stupid thing to prevent one from their morning coffee. Love this machines coffee but if not reliable it becomes an over priced paper weight.

My original plastic k refillable it comes with broke. The lids plastic parts started to break off. So I was getting the oops message. I simply started running as HOT water. Never a problem. The coffee strength has not been compromised. I use the refillable cup every single day. I have not tried an original k cup but I can't see why it would not work the same. Good luck. 😜

I did the Avery neon hack and I could only get the purple and orange ones to work the yellow and green would not work for me. I know you said the yellow would work to but in your video you only use the purple and orange stickers. Did you really get the yellow to work? ( just curious) I loved your video thank you for showing me this. I bought the 2.0 because of this video.

glad I found your video - I just happen to have some neon stickers on hand! About to give it a try :-) My bad - I did not do my research prior to purchasing - did not know Keurig has tried to monopolize the pod industry...(why do we give them our money? Oh right - hubby wanted a new toy!) LOL

The labels did not work for me I have the 2.0 460 from Sam's Club. I don't know if that makes a different help because I love 16 0z cups of coffee.

I have the freedom clip that ive had for awhile so I bought the color coded lables like Ken said and.I put the orange one on top of the sm color dot on the freedom clip guess what I got the full menu.I dint have to mess with any part of my machine.!!!!!!!!!!! I get it all.

I have an original Kcup machine and a vue, coffee from the vue tastes much better but they quit selling the vue cups except on line and at a higher price. I had bariatric surgery in April and now all I can drink is a sugar free decaf vanilla latte from starbucks. I just bought a used espresso machine and a milk frother cheap on ebay, that is all I use anymore. No more un biodegradable k cups for me! Of course this was after I bought a box of 100 kcups of my fav coffee while on vacation in Ma., it was so cheap---it went to college with my son! LOL!

Rogers Family is no longer providing the Freedom clip. Their cups are 2.0 compatible, but it would be nice to have that clip for other brands, know of anyone who has created something like that?

have tried it all... Other then wire cutting. Would so rather not do that and lose my warrantee! Tried the stickers that came with pods. Nothing.. And the stickers you use, nothing... Only thing to work is with old foil. Why?! I have a 2.0 200.

THERES AN EASIER WAY!!! Just peel off a foil top off a used K-cup. Cut it in half Glue it to the left side of the filter lid. Once dry, you are ready to use it. Works perfect

I find it counterintuitive that the Keurig 2.0 forces you to use their K-cups. I get that you want people to use your products, but what if people don't care for the k-cups and they want to use the little k-cups filters :(

ty, I was also able to use my own refillable cup, the brand is ecobrew and it is a little brown cup that's completely round with no sides sticking out,( I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, any others had little wings on the sides that didn't fit in the k cup holder thus preventing me from closing the lid and I was not about to force it seeing how I spent 5 times more than I would have on a coffee maker ( we all get sucked in the hype, humans are sheep). With the ecobrew and the taped up sensor woo hoo! Because I was about to throw this out of my window with a noose around its neck and send keurig a picture... lol I love the sharpy hack and the neon sticker hack, have you seen the videos of the magnet hacks, they work too! Keurig company did come out with its own single serve reusable cup, it's on Amazon.com for $15. if your into spending more money
