In this video, I take a look at the best performing key forwards in the Coates Talent League for season 2024. Which of these players are the most draftable and what type of key forward position do they play?
Yeah, I would say Simms is the most likely. He’s 200cm, very agile and the likely available at North’s second pick. Whitlocks and Shanahan probably off the board at that stage. But as a pure key fwd, Simms could be the best!
Unfortunately, I don’t have an answer on that as I haven’t seen him play. But…you’ve now given me someone to watch today! I’ll check him out and get back to you!
He’s definitely equipped to play fwd, he’s 195cm, so taller than Charlie Curnow for example, good overhead, strong and is a pretty good set shot. I’ve just never seen him play forward, he’s kicked quite a few goals in the CTL but mainly arriving from the midfield. I imagine his long term position will be a centre forward midfielder that pushes forward while resting. He’d be a nightmare match up while resting forward because of his size.
