Living in a backseat of a car and collecting soft drink bottles for deposit money so I could eat to climbing out of this mental and physical disparity. Working at anything then watching, listening and acting to form a direction of another path. Night school, paying for college working at a fast food restaurant. Then acting on an unplanned opportunity to work overseas. Stopped school, built trust with others and in the end built three Corporations. Still own two. Numerous investments and even a cattle ranch. This is true but it's because the infant mortality rate was so high which brought down the average. If you were able to live past say 10, then living into your late 50's early 60's was not uncommon.

Wisdom from the old times we have lost in todays vanity and need for attention. Immediate gratification is our doom, we need to embrace life as it is, and when it arrives as well it presents itself. I believe virtues are a long lost art, Im going to make it a point to reflect on my own decency’s after watching this video. Thank you for reflecting the old way into the new path in life’s way.

Success is not for the faint of heart. It takes hard work, dedication, and a willingness to push yourself beyond your limits. You must work harder than anyone else if you want to achieve your goals. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. Every time you put in the extra effort, you're one step closer to your dreams. Don't settle for mediocrity, don't make excuses, and don't let setbacks hold you back. You have the power to create the life you want, but it starts with working harder than anyone else. So roll up your sleeves, dig deep, and give it everything you've got. You must work harder, but you will reap the rewards of your hard work. Let's go

Don't give any feedback or self talk to anger whatsoever. The only self talk should be the motivation you put yourself to at the tasks you are going to achieve. When someone brings up anger don't divert it to yourself instead redirect the energy into bettering the situation. Great video picked up many insights thank you!!

Instead of trying to predict and prognosticate the stability of the market and precisely when the change is going to happen, a better strategy is simply having a portfolio that’s well prepared for any eventually, that’s how some folks' been averaging 150K every 7week these past 4months according to Bloomberg

The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look. My wife and I are retiring this year with over $7,000,000 in tax deferred investments. up until 3 years ago we were 100% in the S&P. During bear markets we had a perfect plan. We got an investment manager in our corner and didn’t look at our portfolio for nearly a year

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:54 🧠 Train your perception: Stoicism teaches us to control our judgments, reframing events positively, and not letting emotions cloud our rational thinking. 06:31 😡 Control your emotions: Stoicism emphasizes redirecting emotions, not suppressing them, to make rational decisions and maintain a calm mind. 10:00 🤝 Exercise the dichotomy of control: Differentiate between what you can control and what you can't, focusing on actions within your control and embracing fate for the rest. 13:06 🌟 Embrace the virtues: Stoicism promotes wisdom, justice, temperance, and courage as virtues to cultivate for personal and societal well-being. 16:36 🌍 Embrace a broader perspective: Step back to see the bigger picture, consider the interconnectedness of the world, and ask introspective questions to make informed decisions and promote the greater good. If you are new to these videos, pay mind to this comment. At first, the advice in these videos may seem just like another one of the many "inspirational motivational" videos on RU-vid. This is not the case. Meditate, journal, reflect on the quotes and teachings of the ancients mentioned throughout this channel. I promise you brother, i promise you with all my being. This will change your ENTIRE perception. It is a game changer. This is the way that man was meant to live. This is what father's should have taught their children. Stick to your mindfulness. In times of hardship, these teachings WILL override your emotional, kneejerk responses.. and that will make all the difference in the world to you. I cannot ever express the gratitude i feel for these videos. Thank you.

@zac9933
@zac9933 8 месяцев назад
@@lonehawk3164 I may be misunderstanding what type of situation you mean but having impulse control is not cowardice. If you fear coming off as a coward I would suggest figuring out where that is rooted. Are you trying to prove something to yourself? If so, figure out why need to prove that to yourself. If you're trying to prove yourself to someone else, prove that you aren't a coward, then I would ask myself why their opinions and how they view you even matters. One of the best pieces of advice I have gotten for this is "don't bother yourself with the opinions of people you wouldn't go to for advice." If you can't trust a person to give you advice on something that matters, then you don't have faith in what they say. If you don't have faith in what they say, then why bother yourself with their criticisms of you? Sorry that was a little long but, I hope nothing came off poorly and wish you the best.

Very solid words! The “littering” example is good, but I would have loved to have a stronger example like supporting meat, dairy and egg industries. Something people contribute to 3 times a day or more for convenience, taste pleasure or upholding tradition while contributing to destroying the planet we all share. Look at what you are voting for with your dollar. Do you really agree? When you know better, do better. Give this planet love for all to come

Marcus Aurelius: 1 - Focus on What You Can Control "You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." 2 - Accept Impermanence and Change "Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking." 3 - Practice Self-Reflection "He who does not reflect is a ruined man." 4 - Develop Resilience and Endurance "Very little is needed for everything to be upset and ruined, only a slight lapse in reason." 5 - Live in Accordance with Nature "Objective judgment, now, at this very moment. Unselfish action, now, at this very moment. Willing acceptance-now, at this very moment-of all external events." 💪💪💪

Constant interactions with the good committed guiders many know are close by. Many of Marcus' writings were born from his appreciative attitude toward life and it's blessings.
