Oh also says error... have u all ever had this happen to your kodiak or know what this could be? Everything works as it should, just those lights come and go... Kodiak is branded with about 40 hp where the griz has about 50hp so there is a functional difference between the them, gearing is also slightly different

Great content as always! My 2018 Kodiak 700 EPS is my first quad I’ve ever owned. I just rolled over 2000 KM and I have only done brakes once. Absolutely nothing else. I’ve got the same lift as you and 28 inch tires. If I had to buy another quad I’d get an outlander 1000. As you mentioned the top end is weak on the kodiaks and the smaller stature of the bike is an asset but also a weakness. I’m 6’3 and I do find this machine a bit small but that’s on me for not testing more bikes out before I bought it. That being said this ATV won’t leave our family. We will just add a second one or a side by side. Yamaha reliability and low end grunt makes this thing an absolute beauty and I’m very happy with it.

Luv the kodiak! I have a grizzly 450 and it’s smaller but I can go most places the bigger quads go. When I ride with guys on can ams and outlanders they leave me cause their faster but they breakdown before the trail ride is over and a Honda or Yamaha have to pull them back in lol.

I think you forgot one of if not the most important... DURABILITY. These Yami’s are built to last even if you set a bomb underneath it. I’ve seen some sell for 15-20,000 kms on em and still have all the original diffs,tranny and motor. I’ve ridden them hard and I can’t seem to break anything on them lol

The thing I like of the kodiak 700. Everything. The suspension for me is amazing, the power output is just right for me. It handles very smoothly. I have a kodiak 700 myself (my profile picture). The only thing I dislike is how the battery is hooked up on the front. Yes it’s higher so water don’t get in it. But removing that one pice of plastic is so annoying. Espicslly putting it back on. But that said. It’s a Yamaha and I’m with Yamaha 100% every time. And I know that going in deeper stuff the kodiak seems like a lil non power in it. But I gone mudding with it and I love watching the mud fly up and if someone is behind me they’re full of it. But great video and hopefully when this corona shit is done I’ll hopefully see your mudding videos pop up again

Hi guys love the vid‘s!!! I myself have a 2018 Kodiak base model and was wondering if you run any tuners on it being that the 708 Run lean? I only have about 10 hours on the motor and still in breakin mode. Any issues I should know about if any? Should I install intake adapter in the air box to convert the air filter to a bolt on? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and great vids!!! Thank you.

Kodiak 700 EPS is a beast...it's reliable, powerful, easy to ride. For the low budget guy (or gal) you just need to take off sway bar (if you mainly ride technical trails), put on some nice 26" tires (I used Bearclaw K299's) on the Yamaha aluminum wheels and add 1" wheel spacers all around.... only cost me 300 bucks for the tires and 65 bucks for the spacers. You can't beat that and you'll have a great trail riding machine that can go just about anywhere. If you want to go a step further...I also added Highlifter Springs (to help handle a plow), heated handgrips and thumb, handguards, Tiny Tach, snowmobile bar ends, reverse light (for plowing), winch (of course)...and my favorite thing: EHS tuner!! Everything else is stock.... I LOVE THIS QUAD!!!! It's so cool to see both you guys riding together and when Cass gets compliments on her Yamaha when all the other machines around are huge and probably cost twice as much, I get a HUGE smile across my face. The Kodiak 700 EPS is a bargain for any rider...Big or Small. Thanks for all the great info and entertainment that you both provide. Happy Trails! :)

@@MainvilleATV Thanks....I've been riding for 35 years and have owned MANY different quads...my wife and have have been riding together for 20. We also have 2 Yamaha Grizzly 450 EPS machines that we use when we ride together. They are great...small and nimble and fit on our enclosed snowmobile trailer. The Kodiak is my utility machine that I use for everything else (plowing, snowmobile club trail clearing, hunting, etc..). The Kodiak has made me a very happy camper! I actually bought it after seeing one of your videos and because you go anywhere with it! It's priced right and has everything I'll ever need. I'm 6 feet and 210 and the size is perfect. I always laugh when I hear about people say that a certain quad isn't BIG enough :) I come from the atv riding days when they claimed that the Honda Foreman 400 was the biggest atv out there!!! Well I’m 6’4” and 280lbs. You might say that I’m at the upper end of the stature qualifications. Lol. I love my 2018 Kodiak. It’s a twin to Cass’s machine but I have different brands of accessories but it pretty much looks the same. I love it because when I’m hinting and driving into the woods a couple miles I can get into deeper and tighter areas then a person with a machine like Kyle’s. I like how it handles and performs. Nothing bad to say about other machines it is just my preference to have a smaller body quad. And yes I’ve put it through some nasty stuff and it has no problems. But this is just my two cents of input.

If you want an ATV, you have to put a deposit down and wait. It's been that way since Covid-19 started. Most of the dealers in town are the same. They might have one in showroom but it has sold sign on it. I don't know if it's the same in Ontario or not, but it's kind of difficult to sit on different models to see how the ergonomics feel when they don't have any in showroom.

Something like that would probably end up on our Instagram story/IGTV/Facebook group rather than here, so be sure to follow us there and I'll see what I can do. Might not be until things slow down at work for me (been quite busy the last couple of weeks, and likely will be until Christmas time). Thanks again for watching! - Cass

Biggest mechanical difference between the 2 Yamaha's is the grizzly has all wheel disk brakes the Kodak has a wet drum break witch I believe Yamaha say has a life time warranty in the shoes and drum. Also I believe you can only get the locking front diff in the SE model of the Kodak and its standard on all trim of the grizzly

I'm considering a Griz for myself and a Kodiak for my wife. Tires will come first. My question is this...For at least the first few months do you think stock machines would serve us well? Mostly hard pack trails and some mud will be our terrain. I will replace the stock tires immediately. I know factory tires leave allot to be desired.

How have your axles held up with the lift kit? I'd love to lift my '19 grizzly but not to sure if it puts a bad angle out of the differentials, have you noticed any excess wear or issues from that?

She goes about 180km a tank, most I've done is 220 on a tank with the outlander. Keeping in mind her tank is smaller. So I do a bit worse in trail riding. Mud honestly seems the same

Mono Piston ? Who says that ? 🤔 How about reliability ? Fuel economy, repair costs ?
@MainvilleATV
@MainvilleATV 4 года назад
Its a mono piston, so thats why I say that? Our experience its been the same reliability wise as our outlander. Fuel economy isnt a concern for us and what we do. Repair costs are a bit more dollar to dollar than our other machine. Thanks for watching!

LOVING your channel guys.. I have a 2018 grizzly eps camo edition. I just received my rad and snork kit and I love how you installed the metal to tighten up the snorkels. wondering if you would have moved the fittings through the plastics in order to get the 30in tires? I was not even thinking that far for a lift kit but if I do get one should I move the holes through the fender? I'm defiantly going to get the sledgehammer's, have not decided the size though was thinking 28" YOU GUYS ROCK!!! CAN I GET A STICKER?? LOL
@MainvilleATV

We angled the PVC so the 30s wound fit. We did need a 1 inch spacer to help. As for stickers they can be purchased by dm on fb or Instagram :)

Awesome videos guys! Love these videos during this time. Dying to get out though! Question for you guys, you used mostly Gopro Hero 7 blacks for your videos right? Any issues or anything with that? I'm looking to get an action cam to make some clips to share with my wife the trails we go, and maybe take some action shots of our little guy learning to ride a bike. The hero 7 black seems to be a good choice right now.

Just my opinion but you caused more tippiness by raising it. Its made narrower for utility and trails not mudding. By adding wheel spacers to make it wider you might as well have bought the grizzly.
