Even though this video is 2 years old, I knew people will still be excited and inspired. Thanks wo much for all the wonderful ideas and memories. You are quite the artist.
One of my favorite memories - helping Grandma put up the silver tree. Each branch was in a brown paper sleeve. And the piece de resistance - the color wheel. I'd sit on the sofa, transfixed as the tree changed colors.
Allie I have to say that you knocked it out of the park girl. I remember my grandmother had a silver tinsel tree and I loved it. I've been trying to find one everywhere. I love all the extra tips you gave besides your amazeball diys. The white countdown tree was such a wicked idea. Love love love your channel and can't wait to watch more videos. So glad I found your channel. ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦
These took me back to my childhood. My dad had bought a tinsel tree and we decorated it with fuschia and teal. I loved the ornaments you made st the end. I'll have to make some. Thanks.
Oh my gosh... I'm so sorry... I was trying write fuchsia not the f word. We decorated with glass bulbs in ...hot pink... and bright turquoise. We had one of those color wheels. I bought a vintage tinsel tree and a color wheel and put it up every Christmas or so. So sorry about swearing.😳
@@marymattson2122 LMAO!!! I thought it was funny. Figured you didn't notice it. FUSCHIA and turquoise go great together! I bet that was pretty on a tinsel tree. But what is a color wheel?
All these projects are wonderful. The tinsel wreath is so evocative of that time. Quite a few years ago Michaels had a large selection of Atomic Age Christmas ornaments and I bought a bunch of them. I loved the tree I decorated that year. Again, kudos to your for these outstanding projects! TFS
Thank you! I really tried to do my research to capture the style with the DIYs. I really had fun putting this video together. I bet your tree looked awesome! 🎄✨
I loved the funky plastic ornaments you did at the end they looked like so much fun. I also learned that this is not my style but I would like the idea of the shapes of the ornaments just not the colour palette. Thanks for teaching me something new. I look forward to seeing what you do this year. I hope you’re able to do some modern themed Christmas ornaments that don’t have to have all the glitz and glitter that take forever although I love those too. I look forward to seeing what you have to put out in the future while I binge watch everything else lol
Omg you had me at retro....so excited to watch I love tinsel trees I'm trying to find one. I already subscribed cause I love your channel already guuuuurl... ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦
Loving this series! Yes, please on the download for the felt shapes! It would be a fun project doe my daughter and I to do during this Thanksgiving break!!
Absolutely love these!!! I'm a sucker for color. I didnt know it was a style. My video that will be live Tuesday is actually colorful Christmas as well!!
I loved this video! I'm actually sitting here "as we speak" working on diy-ing a smaller version of a mid century console TV 📺! I saw some at Hobby Lobby and the same ones at Walmart, but they were quite a bit smaller than the one I'm making! Thanx for giving me some inspiration! I'm working on the inside walls and was kinda STUCK! Lol XO from TEXAS! 🤠
Wendy exactly the inspiration I was looking for! I’m glad you enjoyed the retro era that was the time I grew up and it was just normal my parents had the greatest furniture & I still have the kidney shaped coffee table, blonde, from then in perfect shape. I actually saw in in a retro living room in Pinterest. Have you looked at the Pug houses of the time? They are miniature houses of the atomic age! I knew about them but not the name! Something else on Pinterest, I just purchased one in the At Home store & plan to make some of my own! Thanks again your enthusiasm is super!
I love MCM decor and color palette! Especially holidays. I found the MCM glitter house patterns on the web and hoping to make them this season. I love the ornament garland! A PDF of the patterns would be really nice, but I think they are easy enough to draw. I hoard rickrack, zippers and bias tape. lol
Thank you for the inspiration, Alli. I have a question I’ve been searching for an answer to for days now and I can’t seem to find an answer even on Google, but maybe you will know. My friend and I were recently talking about our mid century childhood and we remember a blue and white White gingham check pattern in our homes. As I remember it was very popular, including little blue and white bows on the Christmas decorations. Do you happen to know what color that blue was? I’d like to find out so that I can make a special gift for my friend to remind her of her childhood home. I would love to see you do a DIY on cottage style decorating.
I'm not I know sure about the color either, I wish I knew so I could help. I wish you luck finding it, perhaps even something similar would still remind her of childhood
Hi Peggy, it took me a couple extra days, but the PDF for the ornaments is now posted. I put the link under the "links" section the video's description!
