I was a child in the 1960s,, and my grandmother, who babysat me during the day, would always pull my little rocking chair in front of the TV so I could get a close-up view of the rocket launches that I loved so much.. She would also make rockets for me out of paper towel rolls and foil. Good memories.

We had one of the starburst clocks growing up. It hung over the old stereo cabinet. We played lots of good stuff on that turn table. Mostly rock, or Elvis. I’m from Memphis. But sometimes mom would put on that twangy country song and we would all run from the house screaming. Moms smart! Good way to get the kids outside. Love your decorating ideas. We don’t celebrate Christmas but if I did I would steal your ideas. Mom used to think I needed a tree so we had a silver one a couple times. Those do look like a comet, I actually saw an asteroid on Christmas Eve 6 years ago. It was moving fast. Will never forget it. The candle flame holder reminds me of a topper we used. Your home is lovely! I will promise you that if I find those ceramic Christmas trees I will grab it and message you. My husband is putting up wooden shelves in our utility room, I would call it a laundry room. But we live in the country and it’s a true utility room. We just put in huge metal shelves and I’m mixing it with the metal with wood. I took a wooden room divider that you put fabric on between the rods at each fold . It covers out hot water heater. Above it I hung a mix of lanterns with night lights. Just enough to lite the room without turning on the light at night. I’ve so enjoyed watching your channel. My mother found Selena when she first started her channel and told me immediately that she found my soul sister. Lol. Selena is way more cool. God bless you and your family ! Love the Shiny Brite / Radko adds on the tree! This was the first year I used our vintage ornament collection on the tree, now that kids are older. +++ the ornaments around the bullet planter are next level!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
Having lived through the 50's, I am not a huge fan of mid-century modern, but you make it all look wonderful in your home! I am much more in love with your pottery, rug and basket collections, because those really speak to me (my mother was an art teacher and had her own pottery kiln and loom).
When I saw that round brass ring you found at a jewelry market, I thought you could have put a ball in the middle, spray painted it silver and it would have become a UFO flying saucer!
OMG! This brought back some nice memories for me! When I was a kid we had an aluminum tree and that same color changing wheel light. Also, I still have the exact same glass ornament that you showed hanging next to your husband's finished planet ornament! I have 2 of them, well over 60 years old!
I watched you thrift so much of those things and I thought, none of that stuff goes together but..... I was so wrong. Your home is a wonderland. You definitely have the touch. Love it all!
This video shares why your mid century take is the bomb. You have elevated it by modernizing it with a stylized bohemian vibe. And honestly, I couldn't figure out why other mid century you tubers may be more pure in authenticity (and I enjoy their videos), but the décor is stuck in a historic trend - that for me is not as comfortable or sensual as your design take. You are incredibly talented. The way you layer with textiles, plants, pottery, lighting, and art is a true art form. You are so extremely talented. I hope 2021 brings to you everything you hope and dream.

@@oscargoldfield1593 an eclectic mix of early marriage and late yard sale rejects. I didnt mean to be rude, but I did grow up with '50's, 60's, and 70's and I really dont want to live with that again. I found mid century furniture uncomfortable and harsh. Just my opinion.

We did our tree vintage this year after finding two boxes of ornaments that made me happily nostalgic…and then we were on the hunt. 20+ boxes and bags later …! It’s so homey and we just left the newer stuff in our decor box for a change.

I got so excited when I saw the theme of your tree, because that's the theme of mine as well!! I loved some of your DIYs to add to the space theme. I try to thrift new things to add to mine each year, as well as buy a couple new ornaments as well. I also loved your ceramic tree. I have a forest that I thrifted a few years back before they became really desirable. I probably have about 30 of them, and they bring me so much joy!
@@leftcoastrevivals Yeah, and I am such a cheapskate too... I never paid more than like $15 for any of them. Only one I paid up for was from an antique store and it's 36" tall and is comprised of 3 stacked segments! It's super cool. I hope you have a lovely ceramic tree forest some day. :-)

For your "ringed" planet brass piece .... All you have to do is take a very colorful glittered styrofoam ball, cut in half, THEN, glue the halves together with brass sandwiched in the center!! 👍👍 VOILA🎄🎄❤️❤️
