Well we are back with the 5 minute craft hacks folks, but this time with a twist! If this video gets to 50K LIKES I will try these hacks! Appreciate you! Social Media: linktr.ee/Kallmekris Cut by Jason Christopher Mayer IG: @jayjaymay
Kris knows when we need a good “fix of funny” and she delivers every time! Plus it just makes our day that much better to see her bright smile and hear her kind voice. 😊😊😊
Kris, I see you looked a bit confused with the pants as a floatation device section. We use that in the military as part of our "drownproofing" training. It actually works. You take the legs, tie them together, make sure the waist of pants are completely zipped/buttoned up. Place the legs of the pants over your head and around your neck, then take the waist opening and start off by quickly submerging it under the water to form a starting "bubble" of air in the pants (ENSURE YOU KEEP THE WAIST OPENING POINTING STRAIGHT DOWN OR THE AIR WILL ESCAPE), then you slap the water and push bubbles to the opening underwater to inflate the pants more until fully inflated, the pinch the waist opening closed by placing it between your thighs, and you will float in a reclined/seated position. If you start losing air, open the waist, and reinflate by slapping down on the water and pushing the bubbles into the pants and close off again with the legs. Repeat as needed. This is a survival technique the military uses in case you are stranded in open water and have no floatation devices available. I promise this works. And for those that have never done it, it's actually kinda fun to practice.
They taught this in primary school swimming lessons here (UK), though I'm sure it was the trousers you were wearing when "falling in" rather than someone throwing them in for you.
We had drown proofing in 5th grade and i still remember it now in high school, they also taught us one with a button up shirt where we tuck the base into our pants and button if completely and blow into the collar
You know 5 Minute Crafts is doing something right, when Kris actually says more then one of the hacks are "decent" or "okay", good job 5 Minute Crafts, you didn't completely fail this time!
The pants thing is real, it also works with coveralls while wearing them. Had to learn to do it for the navy boot camp swim test. Thanks for making my day better Kris!
omg kris you are so funny the scenario with the "inflatable save me from drowning pants" just hilarious🤣🤣🤣🤣 I like watching 5minute crafts because its both dumb and funny and watching with you and your reactions just makes my day. your awesome btw. thanks for doing these do more please.
Just a small fyi, the pants thing actually works. Not super long, so you'll have to do it again after a while, and obviously not as well as a life jacket, but it does work.
the pants thing actually works. my uncle was in the military and they taught him to do this in case of being lost at sea. ive tried it myself and yeah, does work. Good job on these youtube videos kris. favorite youtuber
Actually, I’m a swimmer. And the cap back does actually work. Swim caps suck putting on, but that hack with filling it with water is very useful. Love you kmk
She said she would try that thing with the pants in the pool to prevent drowning at 50,000 likes. Three hours in we're at 40,000. I hope you can swim Kris.
The pants thing is actually part of a survival technique taught in the navy, they teach you how to make floatation devices out of your pants and jacket
100k likes. Everyone is so desperate to see Kris try out these hacks. I love your compliments, I’ve been feeling really bad about myself, you ever fail to make us smile. I plan on subscribing
To answer Kris' question on Aloe Vera, Yes, you can eat Aloe Vera, and it is good for health. However, be warned that it is incredibly bitter, and it tends to activate a gag reflex. I know this because my dad forces me to eat it sometimes.
Could you imagine this craft 9:17 at a dog friendly beach. 😂 I can just envision a dog pulling that jar up out of the sand like buried treasure, and then running away like "I GOT A JAR OF DIRT" 😂😂
"It's Casper or lobster, that's all I can do" 🤣🤣🤣 I'm printing that on a shirt right now 👍 totally identified 💖 I love your videos Kris, you're always making me feel better
Happy Birthday Kris! We are from Acting, he translates your sketches in Russian. Would you like some vodka?) This should be noted)) We love you, thank you for beingthere❤️ -- С Днём Рождения Крис! Мы от , он переводит твои скетчи на русском. Не желаете водки?) Это нужно отметить)) Мы любим тебя, спасибо что ты есть❤️
Lets be honest Kris uploads and just instantly makes our day better even if we feel like a shitshow, thank you Kris I appreciate your efforts and Kris’s editor is just *chefs kiss*. 5 minute craft will go bankrupt without hot glue and duck tape
So the half frozen water bottle thing is actually great, it lasts way longer than ice cubes. I used to do it the night before for work. Another flip flop fix is to use the flat plastic bread tags; it doesn't require cutting like the pop tab, and it's more comfortable than a paper clip.
For anyone who hasn't heard of this particular tip or doesn't get the logic of doing it, during the heatstroke tip, it makes sense to put cold towels or ice in places like the arm pit and around the sides of the neck because these areas are *huge* heat sinks. Unless the body is spread eagle (or emulating DeVinci's Vitruvian Man, the apex of T-posing lol), air cannot reach these places, meaning sweat cannot evaporate and cool them. Instead, the arms would be down, trapping heat, which is especially bad because the body doesn't sweat properly during heatstroke. It's counterintuitive, I know, but this may be a sign of dehydration and the body not being able to move and replenish fluid resources fast enough. The groin also works as a heat sink zone, so applying cold towels to these areas might help too. Additionally, using cold towels on the neck cools the major blood vessels taking blood to and from the brain, which is very important when a person is experiencing their brain cooking. Not cooling these areas instead allows the heart to pump blood that has collected heat from all over the rest of the body, which can damage cells, nerves and more. The best results happen when a person can be cooled down slowly, giving their body time to adjust, but immersion in cool or cold water can effectively treat heatstroke in as little as 15 minutes *when done properly, aka, please save this technique for medical professions or when being instructed by medical professionals.* Signs of Heat Exhaustion, which, if left untreated for an upwards of 30 minutes, can turn into heatstroke: - a headache - dizziness and confusion - loss of appetite and feeling sick - excessive sweating and pale, clammy skin - cramps in the arms, legs and stomach - fast breathing or pulse - a high temperature of 38C or above - being very thirsty Signs of Heatstroke (which, if seen or noticed, do what you can to move the affected person to a cooler location immediately and do what you can to cool them down while also calling medical services): - feeling unwell after 30 minutes of resting in a cool place and drinking plenty of water - not sweating even while feeling too hot - a high temperature of 40C or above - fast breathing or shortness of breath - feeling confused - a fit (seizure) - loss of consciousness - not responsive Always remember that heatstroke, if left unnoticed and untreated, can be very fatal, so keep and eye on yourselves and the people around you for signs and symptoms, everyone! Be safe and stay hydrated!
@@siegfriedmordrake3229 It honestly might be. You must also keep in mind that your friend is in a state of being severely hyperthermic, and that the water's temperature, *depending on your location, the day, the currents, etc.,* might be below a threshold where you can do this safely and avoid giving her something known as Cold Shock Syndrome. This normally occurs in very cold or freezing water, *but* it has been noted to occur in water as warm as 21-25C/69-77F (which might have been caused by trying to do your example). Any warmer than that and the water does virtually nothing effective in terms of heat dispersion. It depends on the state of a person (if they are normally a healthy and hearty person), if they have any pre-existing conditions or are prone to heart conditions (cardiovascular issues as a known killer during Cold Shock Syndrome even in people without pre-existing conditions or genetic family history), if you can avoid putting even more stress on the person's body, accidentally causing more damage, and the current temperature of the waters at your location. There's a reason vets recommend you never put ice in your dog's water on hot summer days. Like I said, please don't submerge someone without either *some* amount of medical training, even just first aid, or being instructed by medical personnel. It's already advised just about everywhere that if you notice someone undergoing heatstroke, just call medical services, so you lose nothing by listening to instructions before trying a more extreme method on your own.
I had a heatstroke during school because nobody cared that I said I was showing signs of heat exhaustion. I wasn't allowed to go to the nurse or the bathroom (tiled, so it would be cooler) and they refused to open the windows. It was only after class ended and I blacked out trying to stand was I taken seriously. Please, everyone everywhere, just take heat exhaustion seriously.
Kriss Ive been having the worst couple of days and you just come in and make me feel happy and loved and thank you so much for that, your an absolute QUEEN
Actually aloe vera is known to help rapidly reduce sunburns, and burns in general. Though just cutting up a leaf and keeping it in the fridge is WAY more effective than a store bought gel. But the aloe + it being cold actually helps with the burn by helping reduce the inflamation= reduced burn time
Ik Kris knows this (as she should) but I just wanted to let you know that you're amazing, my face lights up every time I get the notification that you've uploaded and your videos are just what we need after a long and stressful day! We love you and keep doing what you're doing as long as it makes you happy!!
The lemon spray on blonde hair works because that is essentially how blonde hair started out. I watched a french documentary the other day explaining that people during the romans/greece times would use a similar spray/paste to dye their hair blonde, and this actually created what is now natural blonde hair. Didn't exist before that.
10:28 can you eat aloe? Yes. I'm from a country that does, but it is extremely bitter and slimy, so we kinda use it as a mild medication (especially kids who OD on sweet stuff) So can you? Yes. Should you? At your own risk.
Happy Birthday Kris! We are from Acting, he translates your sketches in Russian. Would you like some vodka?) This should be noted)) We love you, thank you for beingthere❤️ -- С Днём Рождения Крис! 8:01 idk how tf you're gonna do this... fr grab all the phones and accs to like the damn video lmao I need to see kris in a giantass water balloon before I die🤣
The fitted bed sheet at the beach (or the park... or any picnic location) is actually great! It does NOT mean it doesn't get sand on it. But it definitely works. It's great at the park for picnics or the littlest of humans to play in without being directly on the grass. It also seems to help keep ants off the picnic blanket (although this could just be coincidence and/or luck) 😆
@@Xx-Lunar-xX yeah when I was watching it we were at 169k so I’m saying not only have we gone past 50k but also 100k which means Kris has to face one of her nightmares, balloons.
With the snorkelling goggle hack, you don't need to burn it you just need a little bit of toothpaste and smear it onto the glass/plastic then wash it off in the water. I've used this for years and it works every time even the local marine reserve uses it.
@@tessaa8636 i get that bit but isnt there still just a like a bit that still irritates youre eyes? at least whenever ive done that the toothpaste never completely goes maybe im just doing it wrong?
The pants life vest is actually something learned by coast guards I believe. It works I've just never seen the beating water to get air in, always scoop the air instead.
Most branches use the same technique. The splashing works, albeit slowly, but the technique I and many I know like is to go under water and blow air in to the pants, pop up and breathe, and repeat till full. Much faster that way.
11:15 Here in San Diego, it's a common beach tip we give to newcomers and tourists to bring baby powder or cornstarch/corn flour with you to the beach because it's great at removing sand. It doesn't HAVE to be in a sock, you can use it straight from the bottle. However, I think keeping it in the sock means you have less excess powder to wipe off after removing the sand. It's like the grandma's trick to get gum out of your hair if it got stuck there: you put peanut butter on the gum, saturating it thoroughly, and it loosens it. You don't have to cut off the hair to remove the gum.
I love it, how the solution to 90% of the problems 5MinuteCrafts show would be: "just dont be stupid" and their doing more stupid possible dangerous stuff to make it even worse. Love your reactions to this type of content
Hair getting blonde in the sunlight is true! And it also works for brunettes with unique hair, my mom told me that because my hair gets blonde in the summer and im brunette and she said its quite rare so im thankful for that❤
Thank you so much Kris I went threw a break up yesterday and your compliments always make me feel so much better, I love you and you videos! Have an amazing day Kris, you are amazing and SO PRETTY!!!
If you want to lighten your hair without bleach, sun exposure, or any strong acids, technically you can use honey. Honey contains a low level of peroxide (it is actually more complicated then that but google it if you are that curious) so if left in your hair long enough, it can lighten it a little bit. For some odd reason, I tried this and it did work but it also got honey everywhere so... up to you :)
The amount of dirty humor in this video was making me laugh so hard. Thank you Kris for making such amazing content. And thank you for always complimenting us at the start of every video. You're such a sweetheart and the world needs more people like you. :))
8:51 I actually can say that, while it takes longer (definitely not 5 minutes), the single large ice cube takes longer to melt compared to a bunch of tiny ice cubes. Also, some water bottle heads are too small to put ice cubes through (I have one, it’s annoying when I want cold water), so starting out with water, freezing it sideways so you can still fill it up while having the ice evenly distributed, is actually a cool hack
6:36 as a scuba diver, I can confirm that, that is how we prep our masks for use after newly buying them. You do this every maybe 5-6 months. Before you get in the water though, you should use a defog spray or spit. 😁
thanks for complimenting us when we feel our worst Kris! every time you post a video you put a smile on my face, your super funny and i can’t wait for more content! ❤️
Kris - There are some of us that are vampires and need sunscreen... But you know me I like a good tennis ball! me - So you're saying I can't trust you with anything?
I love how kmk compliments us every time we watch! And all the time I'm just like " aw that's the nicest thing I heard all day " Let's not talk about when I first watched one of his videos I woke up at 2 am to watch..
13:48 I know Kris is messing with them, but as a non-native English speaker it was kinda useful to see her specify that it is "shade" and not "shadow" hahahaha
4:35 this one somewhat makes sense. I’ve been taught before to tie the arms and the body and neck holes on a t-shirt in water to create a makeshift float so I guess it makes sense.
The floatation thing is real. During a "drown-proofing" class in the US Army, they taught us to do exactly that. Even if you're a good swimmer, take your pants off and do this because you'll eventually get tired if you try to swim. The only caveat is that the material needs to be thick-ish, and once it's wet it holds air fairly well.
Everyone!! let's help Kris reach 50k likes to create another 5 minute crafts. Can we all agree that Kris is 💯percent far better than these on creating crafts😂😂😂 Love to see again your own hacks Kris so genius👍
I volunteer as your personal sewing person for crafts that require sewing. I am not a professional, but I would be happy to try! Great video as always, thank you for never failing to put a smile on our faces!
