love this video:) I never understood why I couldn't do "all" the makeup steps even though I love makeup so much and always have, but it makes sense to me now that I know "more about myself!" tfs
The titles of your videos alone make me tear up when I catch the notification, I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to find a 5 minute makeup routine video because I was in sensory overload or near meltdown or just, super bummed. And they almost always end up making me break cus goodness gracious, not a darn thing out there is naturally set up for ND folks. The standard isn’t teaching things in a way ND will also follow yet, and that’s caused a lot of issues I can’t fault creators on, I am just continuing to show intense appreciation for this channel from the lack of adult resources out there 😩
thank you so much for your feedback! I'm so glad this video was helpful to you. Please let me know if you have suggestions for future videos. I'd love to hear them!
I did not know I could put extra layers of mascara on after the first application dries. What a great tip. Tip for my fellow natural redheads: brown mascara is better for us, even if it can be SO HARD to find. Most drugstores carry black and brownish black and it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, trying to find true brown. It's easier to type "brown mascara" into an Amazon search. I only figured that out about a year ago.
Recently, I’ve found a wonderful brown mascara at the drugstore. It’s called L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes Balm Brown. It applies very easily and it stays put pretty well throughout the day. I’ve also tried the regular L’Oréal Million Lashes in brown, which was very nice too!
Loving these recommendations from everyone! Thanks for sharing this SueAnne! And one more tip about mascara - avoid waterproof unless you're planning on an emotional experience where you may be crying bc waterproof mascara is HARD to get off and adds extra sensory overwhelm. Can't remember if I mentioned that in the video.
Thank you so much for this video, Taylor! 👍 There's a ton of quick MakeUp tutorials out there but these are always like "how to throw as much product in your face as you possibly can in X amount of time". I've never come across a single creator who's approaching the topic from the perspective of "what you can do, if you just can't stand to put a complete full face on, no matter how much time you actually have", "how to achieve a good effect with very minimal product". And my ND girlfriend totally agrees with your routine: brows and mascara are most noticeable without looking incomplete on their own. Then some concealer where needed, but this she blends with a brush. In addition she likes to accent her lips a little with tinted lip balms or lip stains. That makes it definitely look like MakeUp, while not being very unnatural. But just as you said I understand that this step might be already too much for some people.
Just use a lipbalm with color (now that I am old xD) sometimes I use a one color eyeshadow that applies with the finger, and moisturizer only after I shower. That is the most I've done in my whole life, before my 35bithday I didn't use anything
Just one little tip, please don’t rub and tug your skin so much when blending in concealer. Just gently tap with one finger from each hand under each eye using light pressure and it’ll blend in nice and smoothly, better for the skin and also a just better sensory experience in my opinion:)
@@MomontheSpectrum of course, and yeah makes sense. If you have a skin mist/dewy setting spray or even a slightly damp finger/makeup sponge that could help too if it’s drying out, but yeah no worries, it’s just makeup😄🤷♀️
I promised myself I was gonna wear a teeny bit of makeup everyday this semester. 1.5 weeks in, and that’s SOOOOO out the window! 😂🤪 I appreciate the video, though. Kinda feeling’ inspired! 😁👍 Thanks!
So my special interest is makeup 😅 I've been doing it my entire life, and doing my makeup is one of the only things that can always hold my attention. It's my meditation. If y'all want a faster brow routine, I love the elf wow brow gel. It's a fiber gel, so it looks really good brushed through. And yes, the brand is pronounced elf and not e-l-f! :)
Personally I really wish I could use wow brow but I tried it on in the store and it felt too much like glue to me which I dont like personally, I still want something to keep brows in place but not too much
@@freaky_spirit8011 it felt the least like glue out of the ones I've tried or brow soap, but I see what you mean! Nothing lighter than that product has held my brows in shape all day, but I do live in an extremely humid climate.
I use the same brow pencil it is so good and really nice on your skin it doesn’t feel too clumpy or stuck to your face! I also do the same with my mascara too 🤍
Yay I’ve been doing cheeks and eyebrows only. I use an SPF lotion that moisturizes. Unfortunately I two. I found I needed a mineral around my eyes so it doesn’t sting.
Yay! And you're so welcome. You might also find that you have different sensory needs from day-to-day... sometimes you might not be able to tolerate anything on your face, and sometimes you might want to try adding a little more. Just tune in to your body!
Love all those products, although people should be aware if they have sensitive eyes they may have an issue with that mascara. I didn't used to have sensitive eyes, but as I get older I've found I can only wear certain kinds, usually expensive ones, unfortunately :( I wish I could go for a more minimal routine because even if I try to go for more "natural", it still takes me an hour and a half to get out of the house and that doesn't even include a shower plus doing my hair 😕I think maybe I just have too much makeup and while I enjoy it, it means every decision I make while getting ready probably takes long enough that I can't get a fast routine down. One of these days I need to put a small bag together for a legit minimal routine that doesn't give me any choices to make at all.
Makeup is actually one of my special interests and if time wasn’t an issue I’d probably spend hours applying it. Most days I need 20 minutes and if I run out of time I finish at my desk (my office is at home).
ty for the help. makeup rlly hurts my skin so i dont wear it and i dont like how im socially obliged to wear it either. I also cant handle putting it on only take it off at the end of the day, but i have that hoarding problem with everything i cant do things if im gonna get rid of it later
Love this! I was wondering about nighttime skincare products. The serums etc. all feel too sticky! I'd love recs on non-sticky ones! Also, any thoughts on why I always get small red eyelid bumps from wearing mascara (even when brand new)? I wonder if I'm doing something wrong! I wish I could wear it. Thanks for this video!
hi there - have you tried different brands of mascara? and what do you use to take it off? it might be possible that you have an allergy to something in the products you're using. And let me think on nighttime skincare products! Thanks for the suggestion
I remember my uncle’s wedding and they put fake eyelashes on me i swear to god those things were so heavy, after that i swore off makeup. Now i realize it’s sensory issues. (i have ADHD tho not autism)
Yeah, if I can smell a scent on my skin it becomes really bothersome. I use a line of foundation called Juice Beauty, it's all organic and I haven't noticed a smell. Just FYI in case you're still exploring options.
Any tips for what to do for sensory issues with mascara? Something about the way it hardens on the eyelashes and feels heavy bothers me, but I have very light eyelashes and want to wear something to show them
personally if the product is marketed as "lightweight" or natural looking, i then read and watch product reviews from different sources and see if they say it's lightweight as they claim
Does E.L.F concealer have a strong smell? I struggle with finding foundation or make up that’s unscented. Scents drive me into sensory overload. So frustrating.
Someone above said that the smell of the ELF concealer does bother them. I also use a higher end line for my foundation - Juice Beauty, which is made with organic ingredients and I believe has less of a smell. I'm pretty sure they also have a concealer.
+MomontheSpectrum *Thanks for the sample procedures; I'll take 'em under advisement for a future wife.* Former RU-vidr Katie Gough (Cardiff, GBR) did a full-face routine, but not every cisfemale can tolerate it - I suspect that some sustain breakouts with hypoallergenic cosmetics due to skin sensitivities.
that eyebrow pencil is better than any of the more expensive ones I have tried so far! it is really good:) & that particular aqua bottle of essence mascara literally rivals or tops the high end mascaras I have always used! it is A FABULOUS mascara! great recs:)
I use the same brow pencil it is so good and really nice on your skin it doesn’t feel too clumpy or stuck to your face! I also do the same with my mascara too 🤍

I’ve never been interested in the whole makeup thing but I have to wear the foundation, mascara, blush and all that kind of stuff when I do my end of year dance concerts. I personally don’t like putting it on but a few minutes after it’s all on I can adjust to it. I personally dislike putting the eye makeup the most, it just feels weird and it’s uncomfortable, especially since I always get my mum to do the makeup for me so that I don’t go on stage looking like a clown 😂. Just my personal experience 🤷♀️.
Honestly really love this video! I actually really enjoy some makeup, but can get overwhelmed (it can take me a really long time) and I never wanted to do all the steps that most tutorials will tell you to do. Would love more content like this!
