Man, i'd really like you to do a "send me your patch" section and test and evaluate ours presets (fractal, helix, amplifire, etc), you are such an outstanding connoisseur in the topic !!!! that would be really interesting :)
Awesome. I fell in love with using this Sequencer method. I was never toally satisfied with LFO1A......now it feels like back in the day when I used my old cry baby. Thanks a lot Leon
That was an excellent brief walkthrough on how to create an auto wah. I was actually looking for the auto wah just a couple of days ago. Thanks - and thanks for making the preset available.
Leon Todd I hear you, yesterday I was obsessing over all that. Looking at vintage and modern pedals for that an then I said “wait, I own the AxeFXIII, that will do it.”
Love this concept Leon! I use two Mission Engineering pedals for volume and wah. This technique would allow me to remove one pedal off my board! Always trying to reduce my gig load and this helps a lot! Thank you as always and stay safe!
Hello Leon. Love the video. Followed the steps for creating an Auto Wah for my FM9 but once created I can't turn it off and on with one of the footswitches. It stays on no matter what I do. Can you please help me out with this issue? Thanks.
Leon...i am paying more attention to my driven sound ...what i notice (correct me if i am wrong ) is that the "new" sound of metal and rock ...is actually quite clean ? Back in the 80s we wanted to get as heavy as possible....as distorted as we could ...but of course , it ran the risk of muddy and fizzy ....but i dont know much about you young whippersnappers .....but i am guessing the "chunk " is more from EQ ? I can hear the notes clearly ...its a great tone ....and i want to get it from my amps ...am gonna have to experiment a lot .....Kings X were a little bit in this ballpark ....but todays tones ....including yours are fantastic to listen to ...i learn a lot by being an open minded "old dude" lol
Quite a few factors at play, from improvement in recording tech to stylistic/cultural trends as well as mixing technique. In terms of the raw guitar tone though, it's about gettig the pre-EQ and post-EQ balanced out to get "chunk" - too much bass up front and the distortion gets muddy, too much high at the back end can get shrill.
@@LeonTodd thnx leon...appreciate you taking the time ....i gotta get a crash course ..i will take on those tips ...and you have referred to these things before ...i so wanna sound like that...and i agree wholeheartedly with your analysis of stylistic / cultural ..it more important than you might think...us old guys are slow to change ....but imagine some of the joy of getting a new sound ...when you have been playing the same old shit for 30 yrs ......thnx again
