do you know how someone can figure out if the person has bipolar disorder?

I’ve never heard of bipolar disorder making you codependent bipolar is having manic and depression episodes which you would be insecure about but I’m not sure ( not a psychologist) that it’s directly connected also never heard it being described as a disorder that makes you “lash out” people do get angry in episodes of mania though so I imagine that’s what that was showing. I do understand how Josie got upset that Lizzie wasn’t taking her meds because meds do make you feel pretty shit but you can be dangerous without them and it’s your responsibility to not put people around in any sort of danger it also puts a lot of strain on another family member if you do that I’ve seen it I really want surprised when Josie snapped under pressure I’ve seen people say to not forget Lizze is a teenager but you can’t forget Josie is one too.

@@gingerninja4237 Well, perhaps bipolair doesn't immediatly come with codependency, but people with mental illnesses do tend to have codependency issues. Sometimes, they are unfit to take care of themselves and need a caretaker. If this caretaker is a relative or someone else they have a long-term relationship outside of the caretaker role, then it creates a bond that can easily turn into co-dependency. Josie was Lizzie's caretaker because Alaric was too busy running the scchool to be Lizzie's, and because they already are twins, this is the perfect recipe to create co-dependency.

But recall Aurora was somewhere secluded for a peace of mind. Those kind of things probably happened to her all the time being left somewhere in “order to heal”. It can’t help much to be away from those you love. How many friends do we see Aurora really have? Lizzie has a huge support group and goes a school that is meant to help supernaturals, I have hope for her.

Lizzie has borderline personality disorder (includes mood swings), but it is shown that a good number of students don't like her at all. Some of the people attended the dance were friends with josie (who didn't show up), and the rest just saw it as an opportunity to have fun

Victor Ajah it is never ok to say this kind of thing to someone. Josie caused her own problems, it takes two to be co dependent... Josie was equally to blame for how she was treated, cause she never stood up for herself. What Penelope did was wrong.

And Josie had been doing that for so long and trying to give Lizzie the benefit of the doubt until she popped off and put Lizzie in her place. Josie told off her sister like she needed to. It was a catalyst that set off Josie's realization and gave Lizzie the freak out of her life. The very freak out that shook her into a stage of trying to do better. Period.

Victor Ajah but it was never Penelopes place to say anything to Lizzie about it... and that isn’t what made Lizzie better, the Jini (or however you spell that) and the wishes is what set Lizzie off onto her trip to recovery, not Penelopes inappropriate interference. Everything Penelope said to Josie was great, but she should never have started attacking Lizzie like that. It was wrong, and it really didn’t do much to help. Lizzie had to figure it out herself, and when she did that’s when she started to change. And Josie IS dependent on Lizzie, she has always depended on the fact that she’d always have someone that needed her and if she didn’t depend on that feeling she would of told her off years ago. But Josie always falls back onto the fact that Lizzie is SO awful and whatever, but never acknowledges the fact that she told everyone that Lizzie was bipolar, which was a sucky move. So you can’t really say that Josie was always trying to “help” her sister along. She hid the bad things she did behind Lizzie and used her to make herself feel better. And you’re right on the fact that Josie called her off and opens Lizzies eyes like she needed to, but it was complete BS when Penelope did it. Totally unnecessary. What Penelope did was wrong.

If Penelope's confrontation with Lizzie was praising Lizzie and telling her she's awesome and amazing, would you still say it isn't Penelope's place to do so? The Jinni had nothing to do with it. Like at all. Lizzie very very slowly started to change after this confrontation. It's so clear in the episodes. The Jinni's purpose in Liz's development was to show her how "crazy' she becomes in the future/alternate realities. The realities were dependent on Hope's presence or lac thereof. Lizzie's personality and poor behavior remained unscathed. So it was more than appropriate for Penelope to do what she did. You are acting like everything she said was untrue. Keep in mind that Lizzie was a bully to the other students, so you excuse her behavior; but when Penelope gives her some brutal honesty, it's wrong? That's bs and a double standard. Lizzie didn't figure ANYTHING out herself. Hope, Josie, and Penelope shoved it in her face (as they should). First it was the brutal honesty, then Josie's pop off, then the ass whooping Lizzie got in the penultimate episode on last season. Only this season did Lizzie actual start making an effort, Josie is not dependent. She just anticipates that Lizzie needs something. And she always does. Not dependency, but rather routine. And she felt needed by Penelope and her other friends. Everyone likes feeling needed. She could live without that feeling. But I think she wanted to spare her sister's feelings. Josie did NOT tell everyone that Lizzie is bipolar (which she is). Josie made up a rumor that only touched Lizzie's ears. Lizzie assumed everyone knew. No one else besides her and Josie knew of said rumor. The other kids hate Lizzie because of how she bullied them, attacked them, demeaned them, was selfish, etc. Long before the "rumor' incident started. But it was a sucky move, I agree. But in her defense, Josie thought Lizzie was gonna "steal" Hope from her, like she did everything else in their childhood. As wrong as the move was, i see where she was coming from. Well, she never hid the fire behind Lizzie. She just let everyone assume Hope did the fire to herself. Sucky move. But most of the time, Josie is being a good sister. And she is a good person. She doesn't hide behind Lizzie to make herself feel better. It could be eating away at her day by day for all we know. Also, I believe Penelope's actions were warranted. Lizzie repeatedly tells everyone at school that Penelope is satan. While some thing she did could warrant that name, it still is no excuse. So lizzie isn't that innocent. Penny was right here and in the right place. Lizzie just needs to learn from the info. And it was very necessary for Liz's character development.

Well being bipolar can be caused by abuse in this case the mental abuse she receives for being bipolar from characters like Dana and Penelope. Also stress which she's constantly putting on herself to prove to everyone she worth it. This is mainly just her lows I believe and typical teenagers don't well have a crazy biological uncle who tried to kill her and her sister in a womb that's basically the main factor to why she's bipolar.

And even if she is that doesn’t mean she can be a brat and blame it on mental illness
