My biggest money mistake during high school was spending way too much money at the restaurant across from our school. I’d get lazy a lot and just buy lunch or a drink from there, and I’d also buy a bunch of stuff for my friends. Didn’t seem expensive in the moment but when I added it all up it cost me a completely unnecessary 1k each year...

Like you said, most of these mistakes aren’t bad at all in comparison to what most teens do with their money. You’re incredibly smart with your business and finances and you never let your money take over your identity/morals, which I completely respect. You deserve to be proud of yourself for that. There’s something so much more real about you in comparison to other business/entrepreneurship RU-vidrs. You really come across as a trustworthy and genuine human being.

i was doing that a lot as well! There were a few fast food restaurants across the place I worked at, and I was very tempted to go to them. Sometimes because of my coworkers, and other times because of myself. It's hard to break a habit, especially when you see other people doing the same thing. You end up making excuses like "others are doing it too, so it's fine!" Very much sheep mentality, in more simple terms. I appreciate your comment!

*11 Stoic Traits I Wish I Knew In My 20s:* 1. Take a short term loss in order to have a 5-10 year play ⏱ 2. Will look for one quality woman 3. Alpha by own definition (you set your own rules, guidelines, etc.). 4. The real troubles (hell) these men go through, but others won't know it. Ability to weather the storm. 5. Intimacy becomes Child's play and a crutch. This is many men's Achilles heal. 6. Consider legacy. Name, reputation and legacy are the only things men have. 7. Wealth accumulation is used for an internal strategy for comfort, not for an external validation of the world. Only comes when playing the long game. 8. Focus on skills NOT focus on the hours. 9 Talent finds you. 10. Nothing scares you. 11. Strong ability to control all sorts of different urges (from drinking, smoking, dirty websites to nail-biting/nail picking) - if you relapse. Learn and study everything to control your mind… (or it controls you = NOT GOOD). Take it easy and I hope you found one thing helpful in this list.

@@ImanGadzhi I also just wanted to let you know that often, a quick call to your credit card company can eliminate the annual fee on your card, if you're okay with negotiating things like that! There's an excellent financial book called "I will teach you to be Rich" by Ramit Sethi which outlines this concept and many other useful tips regarding general personal finance. It's amazing the doors that sheer kindness can open for you!

Money mistake is buying expensive clothes like versace, gucci and all that crap. Fortunately the mistake didn't last long and realized my folly within a few days. However, I did develop a taste for quality materials and quality sewing on clothes. Now I am more like you, I don't mind paying a bit more for clothes if the quality is high, but I am not into over the top fashion from well-known brands, doesn't even fit me.

When I first started making money - it all went to my head. Instantly believed I was The Man. Booze, clothes, dinners out without a plan for the future. Consequently, I had to take out another loan for payroll. Been stingy since then. Thanks for the refresher, Iman!

Sorry dude but I don’t agree on the not flying business or first. It’s just not enjoyable flying without a flat bed or private cabin. If you’re on a short flight less than 5 hours then sure economy isn’t fine, but more than 5 hours it’s a no brainier for a few hours worth of income you can have a comfortable and enjoyable experience, it’s a no brainer especially when you use points for the flights. There are some things I’ll cut back on but not my comfort. Flying private though yes that is totally agreeable, that’s a waste, but business and maybe first it’s not at all a waste.

Totally understand your view point. It's about personal priorities and if I needed to be refreshed to do business, I'd spend the points but it's just not a priority for me right now. I'd rather just use points for economy and save the money.

Started my business when I was freshman in high-school by the time I was junior last year actually, I had my own nice car and whatever. My biggest mistake was to be taking out girls everyday to eat out. Now going back $20-$50 a day on food adds up pretty quickly

My biggest money mistake was using a credit card as if the money was mine and not having enough in my bank account to pay it back. Now im 18 (19 in september) and I'm in debt and my credit score is probably screwed for a little while.

I would say either as a reward (ie spend 10% of a new clients retainer on a gift for yourself) or once you can afford it 20x over and you’re confident it will make you happy 😁

It's kind of a sliding scale/culmination of things. I was approved for a gold card with a low 700 credit score, but I have a longer credit history/payment history than Iman. My credit is about 5 years old now (which isn't that old in relation to credit), but considering he had no lines of credit I'm sure he had to prove substantial income and probably had to have a much higher score to be considered.
