I'm trying a different approach with this video. I'm sharing flipthroughs of five of my moon tarot and oracle decks (mainly moon oracle decks, only the dark days is tarot) but also talking about ways to use the decks. I thought this might be more useful, and less FOMO inducing than a regular tarot or oracle deck flipthrough / walkthrough video. Let me know what you think.

If you're on a depth year you might want to skip to Part 2 where I talk about how to use the decks (and the tips should work with whichever moon deck you have) or, if you're looking for a moon deck but aren't interested in how I use them, then part 1 is for you.

Welcome kindreds, I’m Jessica TheStoryWitch. This channel is for witches and seekers looking to craft a creative and magical life. I've wanted a moon deck for awhile now. Had Moonology and Spirit de la Lune on my wishlist for a few years now. I was actually planning on buying Moonology soon now finally. Now I might have to add the Queen of the Moon deck to my wishlist as well. I have a couple of astrology decks; literally 2, one of which I just got as a holiday gift. So it will be interesting to compare them to moon focused ones. I admit to wanting to go deeper with them as far as divination goes though. Thank you for doing this video and sharing. It is very helpful to see the different decks that are focused on one theme side by side. I never thought about doing a moon altar specifically. So I'll have to try that. This was really nice and informative.

Thank you Lashette 💖 I’m glad you found it interesting. I do love the spirit de la lune but honestly don’t use it that much. I’m similar with other astrology decks too. Sometimes they’re hard to break out of their “purpose/ theme” and just use for a regular reading. That could totally be just me though 😄 which Astro decks did you get?

This was interesting to me. I have been trying to find a good moon oracle for sometime. Queen Auset generously gifted me the last two decks to play with. And I find they do help me to unlock what I feel and think about the moon phases. Thank you Jessica.

I really enjoyed this as my lunar practice has been seriously slacking since the start of 2020! I have the Moon Oracle by Caroline Smith and John Astrop, and mostly use the cards for meditation on my altar, they are so beautiful! It has it's own system but I haven't been using it to its full capacity. Also recently purchased the Moonchild by Danielle Noel but it's doing absolutely nothing for me! But Dark Days really grows on me every time you talk about it. I think I need to see the cards up close to really appreciate them cause the artwork has such fine lines, but it does seem like it would be a great deck for new/full moon readings. I really like the moon phase associations on each of the cards - that would really help me to get more out of a reading I think, Thank you for sharing and re-inspiring my practice.

The Spirit de la Lune is cool. I’d never use them as an oracle but definitely would as a tool to work with lunar energies and phases. Roommate has the Moonology deck and the cards go on our moon altar. Queen of the Moon looks interesting. Thanks for your insights into each deck.

I JUST ordered both Moonology (book & deck) with a bit of Christmas money. Queen of the Moon is sitting in my cart for the next opportunity. Definitely trying to focus on the Moon (and Astrology) more this year. Given that the recent full moon just came and went with barely a nod, I'm off to a "great" start. Heh.

I think this may be the first deck you mentioned? She has wonderful journal, BOS, and planner pages as well. Her work is very inspiring to me and I recognized it when I saw it!! Toad foot tales on Etsy

Hi Jessica , thank you for this . It has been really helpful . I have two of the oracles decks but I wanted a tarot deck moon themed . I love the first one you showed us but I’m not sure if I will be able to get this ? And sorry what was the subscription box you mentioned you subscribe too? Also the The spirit de la lune i love and unsure where to buy this ? Honestly this was great , I may have to watch it several times , particularly at the end for your use recommendations . In the last couple of years, I started working more consistently with the moon energy and I feel that it works better for me for self-growth work than the calendar months. For practical projects, I use the calendar months as this makes planning a lot less complicated. I have two (published) moon decks. The Moon Oracle, which is really great for interpreting the moon phases and mansions, and the Queen of the Moon, which I use more like a general oracle deck or I pick a moon phase and a moon name card (I mean the seasonal moons) to depict the energy of each moon. And also, a deck that I made myself for myself that has the 8 moon phases and all the astrological elements I am familiar (or semi-familiar) with. I use this deck mostly to study or illustrate the current astrological events so I can have a better understanding of the energy in place. I recently bought the Elemental Oracle by Stacey DeMarco (which I happened to find the Rockpool edition brand new for really cheap) and I have to say that I am well impressed with how it reads. So far I am only doing New and Full Moon readings ...but I may start doing half-moon phase readings too. It might help me stay more focused! :) Thank you, lovely! xx

Dammit! I had to look up the Moon Oracle as I haven't found a deck which incorporates the mansions. And now, I don't know what to do :D I'm leaving it in my cart for a bit while I think it over. Thank you for sharing your practice xxx

@@JessicaandtheMoon Hahaha...sorry didn't mean to be an enabler! lol... If you have a moon deck you don't use much, you could sell that and try this one...One in, one out! With the astrological associations and all, it is a deck worth trying if you work with the moon. I don't use it as a general oracle deck but I suppose one could. However, most of us have many decks so it is most likely that one of the others will fit the bill better. ...I tend to keep things in my cart for a long time...and often never buy them ...it's a good technique! ;) xx

I love the picture with the owls and the moons. it looks handmade, or did you get it somewhere? I just watched another video about the moonology oracle and her manifestation oracle cards and that person mentioned combining some of the oracle deck with the manifestation deck, which I thought was a great idea. the other thing i was thinking about was that I think I would really like having the manifestation suggestions in the book for that deck. so ... alot to consider.

I can’t remember the owl/ moon picture. I think perhaps it one Netta (who is in circle) made for me. I don’t have the manifestation oracle but can see how that could be an effective combo ❤️
