Hi! I’m excited to be here in your channel and I’m interested in learning more about investing and saving up for my retirement but am a little confused about the whole process. Any advice or tips to get me started up would be greatly appreciated.
@@1Azul_wellsFinding financial advisors like Patricia strain who can assist you shape your portfolio would be a very creative option. There will be difficult times ahead, and prudent personal money management will be essential to navigating them.
@Jay in LA Have you even actually owned one or did you just day hire one from Turo to impress girls at your school? Because you're kind of embarrassingly ill informed, little boy. Lucky for you I love talking about cars, and despite reliability issues I love German cars: Beemers, like other DE brands, are not great in terms of long term reliability, I will explain why shortly. This fact is no flat earth conspiracy or secret, it is actually fairly widely accepted among most car enthusiasts, as well as both professional and & hobby mechanics. The people espousing, ney, preaching nonsense about BMW's cars being paragons of reliability, like your good self, are usually those who run right out and buy the flashest looking box-on-4-wheels they can on credit, to impress strangers out of insecurity or overcompensation, or whatever (wink-wink). Those passionate about the, still very impressive, engineering would be cognisent of such well known shortcomings with the German market, whilst enthusing us all with, for example, the amazing F1 derived cutting edge tech that makes it into BMW models. If you can muster the old grey mater into action and a bit of courage to face the truth of the German car industry; the fact they have been pooping out unreliability for a hot minute, then it's really not that hard, even for a chap like you, to find actual independent reliability data from reputable sources that verifies what I'm saying. ('Parkers' - is one such source in the UK) ...Ever owned a Porsche? Ask a few Audi owners if they've had any work done. Even round up a few Jetta drivers and you'll hear stories. Compared to Japanese brands, hell, even Fords, your little Turo day out does not represent reality. BMW's are not known for being reliable. - I hope that is sinking in. I think what has steered you off course is the fact you are basing your opinion on a sample size of 1, you... and you're clearly going to be bias, no offence, but you're clearly not top of the critical thinking pile. So why are German cars so crap? It is not because of incompetence that's for sure, It's because most customers these days lease, here in Europe like 80-80% of new sales, the most common lease term is 3 years, so there is little point incurring any expenditures pertaining to long-term reliability when your target demographic won't benefit, and it's nice for you as a manufacturer if people are motivated to keep buying your NEW cars, no? To be totally honest, I effing love a good Beemer, have done for spanning 3 decades, but I'm not falling into the same trap as you, of being a butthurt evangelical preacher for the cult of German automotive, just because my huge ego got wrapped up in a brand, that's just strait up immature... and that's before we even get to your like arrogance and over-keenness to appear like you've got money (hallmark of a Turo try-hard 😅 ). I was going to wish you trouble free motoring but I know buses are quite reliable and if you ever get a good job you'll lose it all on BMW repairs. 🤣 Peace 🙃 🤑🤯
Jay in LA Why do fools like you assume they know everything. BMW is the cheapest luxury car to buy used. If you want quality Go Lexus V8. Had a e60 550i which was breaking down monthly at 110k miles. Even with regular maintenance these cars fall apart. And don’t get me started on the “you don’t know shit” I’ve cycled thru 14 cars in the last decade. Only consistent reliable makers were Lexus, Acura, & my first Subaru which was a WRX hatch.
Actually this is true for all the cars except for the Infiniti. My buddies have both the older and brand new one and they are definitely eye catching cars, exhaust sounds awesome and maintenance is not bad. Neither of them had anything major occur. In addition you can also have it serviced by Nissan for much cheaper ;)
have a red sport 400 & love it! As with all luxury vehicles, make sure you have a good warranty. Eventually all cars will need work done. That’s just a given.
Agree 100% on the MKZ. Bought my wife a slighty used 2018 2.0T Reserve, fully loaded with massage seats, panoramic roof, revel audio, etc. for just over $23k. It stickered for $52,000 when brand new. Love depreciation, and the 50,000 mile warranty on all their vehicles.
@@JonathanGarcia-cb9st I'm aware of that... under all that Infiniti branding and price tag it's still a Nissan. I've had both Nissan and Inifiniti. Not too impressed with them from my experience and from what I hear I'm not the only one.
Weird piece of Trivia: Did you see how the start button flashes before you start the car? The flash pattern is based on the recorded heartbeat of an actual jaguar.
It's not a good car. If one thing is going on with it the whole car shut completely down. My sister has been having problems after problems with it, her and two of neighbor's cars were all on a wrecker going to the shop to get fix at the same time and yes it's very expensive.
@@grindstone6131 I meant that they missed out on lower price tags. And yeah I know the reliability of a Infiniti but in terms of reliability I think some cars on this list are unreliable (Not sure if that 1st car on the list is unreliable)
Alfredo Tirado but if they make their vehicles reliable, won’t they have even more buyers? Or is it that they can afford to make their vehicles reliable?
@@skyforce2132 Think about it like this, Toyota/Lexus are the most durable vehicles, but everyone wants the bmw, benz etc, unfortunately reliable cars aren't profitable
One of the problems is that they push technology before it is ready, while it works it's great, when it doesn't it's expensive to fix. A few years down the track the technology becomes reliable and is available on standard cars. Engine wise they push the engine to the limit causing more wear and tear than standard cars which are downrated to leave a margin for future tweaks and be more reliable. And so on.
Honestly didn't realize that you could get a Q60 for that low of a cost...I always thought they were still holding thier value...I'm out of touch with the market for those! Good info, Thanks!!
Infiniti takes forever to update they interior it keeps the same looks for years But i must say its the most reliable car out all the cars in the video
I bought a BMW because it was the ONLY car that had 8 gears in the auto AND was not a dual clutch piece of junk 4 years ago. Today things might have changed but I'm still happily driving the little thing. I'm about to enter the *_No more maintenance contract_* arena and am looking where to find parts (found it already), tips on what breaks etc (babybmw.net). The Web makes things so much easier.
@mike dollars Agreed. And you can save a packet buying a decent car used, rather than a small crap car new for the same price. Most cars are pretty reliable now but a smaller engine isn't going to last as long as a bigger one in almost every case.
I think you missed out on a very good jaguar xf: Jaguar XF supercharged (2010 and up 5.0L). It is only slightly less powerful than the XFR and with a tune and pulley swap will produce around 550hp. Most of the consumables (filters, bushings, etc) come from the lincoln mkz so the upkeep is not too bad. It has all of the high performance goodies from the XFR without the fancy seats or the xfr front facia and they can be had for pretty cheap (sub 15k is plentiful)
In may 2019, I bought a Jaguar XE second hand from 2016, just out of warranty with everything done in official Jaguar service for as cheap as 20k €. It's working smoothly and everyone is impressed when they see it.
I think the interior on my 2012 XF portfolio is quite nice. Maybe you have only seen lower trim level examples? However, even the most basic ones have gen leather dash, wood paneling and the likes, so I don't really get how it's lackluster 🤔
Great videos. No bullshit. No matter how expensive and cool the car you never fail to make it plain as day they cost buckets of cash to maintain. I own a 2011 Saab 9-5 Aero which is an unusual car and performs about as good as any BMW, Mercedes, or Audi. But maintenance? Oh wow. Not only expensive but parts are hard as hell to come by. Yeah, you're right: don't drive it too much. The go-to car in our family is a 2000 Subaru Forester with 190,000 miles. Cheap, never complains, always works plows through snow and beat up enough that a another nick or ding just goes unnoticed. Anyway, thanks. Realy enjoying your videos and your comments/observations.
Man you made my day. I saw video part I and i couldn't wait for part II. Thank you for the time you dedicated to research these monters. Woww!! You are awesome.
My dad has bought a Jaguar XF brand new back in 2013 , it has that v6 engine, and he has 0 problems with the car, he uses it daily. Back then here in hungary it was not a cheap car at all, now you can buy 1 for like 15k dollar.
I just came upon your channel and all I can say is.... WOW! Mind blown 🤯. I didn't know thank you will be looking into your channel a bit more. Thanks.
What a great list. I personally fell for the 7-series (w/ M-Sport pkg). The $6,ooo hurt, to replace the Transmission... but I still loved being in it and driving it (+1,200 kms. per week). That is, right to my end with her (287,ooo km). Thanks for a very well thought out video.
My MKZ is 7 years old, and I still love it. The adaptive suspension is the best. It has 28,000 miles and is like new. I always get so many looks and questions about it. It is tuxedo black with a mirror like finish that can't be beat.
The MKZ is the real winner here. The exterior makes it easy to confuse with the much more expensive Continental, though the interior can't touch the Continental. Based on a very solid and proven platform. No meaningful reliability issues with the drive train.
As does the Q50 in fact 2017 RS 400 which I have has the same model as the ones in the GTR(paddle Shifters that is). And he nailed it a little spent on a few mods and its a BEAST. But new they are the same price as a AMG C 43. So cheap they are not at least new. Still Love this car its so powerful. Something of interest for you real JDM folks en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_VR_engine yes the 3.0 is a VR series motor. I think this is why it is mod friendly. Skylines you have to love them.
Sam Marshal I had a 2017 Q50 premium and with a JB4 it’s easy power gains, now I have a 2015 3.7 Q50 and IMO it sounds way better than the 3.0t but the 3.0t makes power for cheaper easily. Also got Paddles on my 2015 Q50
I’ve always wanted to have a luxury car, but being 51 years old and spending the last 31 years of my life having 37 operations because of Crohn’s disease and intestinal cancer, I’m not exactly a wealthy man, the total opposite actually! Whatever Money I used to have is long gone, spent on medications and medical supplies, and now I was forced at the age of 46 to retire early and go on permanent long-term disability because I’m just too sick to work, having less than 5% left of my entire gastrointestinal tract, not to mention 11 chronic illnesses that we are all side effects from the treatments. But with all that said, I am still hell-bent on getting myself a luxury car before I die, and at the rate I’m going that might not be much longer, I’m already living on borrowed time, which is why I really appreciate these videos you make, because they really help me decide what I want. If I truly really want, I could cash in some of my savings bonds but I was able to put together years ago, but I don’t want to do that unless absolutely necessary because I don’t know how long I will live. I know full well that if I cash in those bonds all live to be 80, if I don’t touch them all die within the next couple of months, that’s just the kind of luck I have, so screw it, I’m getting myself one of these cars, just can’t decide which one yet. There’s just one difference, I’m in Toronto, Canada, so the prices here are probably going to be quite a bit higher than what you guys pay, but right now I’m driving a 2006 Ford 500 limited, I got it for free from my father after he bought himself a brand new fully loaded Taurus SHO, it only has 120,000 km, which is what? 60,000 miles? It’s a good car but, it’s ugly, has no style and no power, And to be honest, I love a car with a ton of Power, One that can accelerate incredibly quickly and can corner on a dime with no body roll. My Ford? Let’s just say that all my friends have nicknamed it, “the tank“, I fitting name perfectly describes its performance! And I absolutely hate it! I have a bit of a leadfoot, but I’m a safe driver, 35 years of driving and not one accident we’re not even a ticket, I just want so desperately a car but after I hit the gas pedal would stop and ask if I want to go faster! The Ford is greatly under powered with a V6 3 L 203hp engine all-wheel-drive system, I swear to God when I hit the gas pedal, the cars computer pauses, and says “oh, you want to go faster, OK I’ll try“, however it never listens to me, and just drags it’s ass along the highway!, but it is incredibly reliable, and really cheap to fix, which is why I’ve been procrastinating, but after watching your videos, I’m just beginning to think screw it. My diseases could come back or flare up at any time, and I already know that they will lead to my death eventually, far sooner than most people. Because I live on disability I do have to watch my money, but I am married, and my spouse makes about 75,000 a year, not a lot but enough to survive on, Toronto is a really expensive city to live in. So I’m gonna leave it to you guys, if you were in my situation, out of all the cars mentioned in both videos, which one do you think would be the best value, and the cheapest to repair? I love the Maza Roddy, but I’ve always been a BMW fan, I’ve just never been able to afford one, I assumed they were just out of my price range, but after watching this I know that they’re not, at least the used ones. I’ll probably still keep the Ford 500, it’s always nice to have a second set of wheels just in case, and the insurance cost nothing, so it really doesn’t cost me anything since I already own it.... so ladies and gentlemen, what do you think? If you were in my situation, which car do you think would be the best one, I’m asking everybody including you my friend, who made this video. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated, but please try to get back to me as soon as you can by commenting on my post here, because I don’t know how much longer I’ll be around, but come hell or Highwater I am going to my grave, knowing the pride of driving a luxury car that will turn heads, and not people stomachs like my current car does! What kills me is, my Ford 500, which is in show room new condition, that has every single available option, is actually worth almost as much is a used BMW, what the hell? There’s a big difference between Ford, and luxury vehicles, no offence to any Ford lovers out there. My first car was a Ford mustang 5 L, I loved that car, but it 51 I think it’s time that I get to drive a grown-up, big boys car! Thanks again everyone, cheers!
So far the second car is my favorite. I have always wanted one but I hear that used ones are not that great! I will just keep waiting to see when they might make a look alike at a more affordable price. I'm a fan of used cars because new cars are not worth the price and they may have as many issues as a used one.
Asking how’s the maintenance lol how about how’s the ride... just bought one last Saturday and it’s fkn awesome!!!! Mines a 2011 and I can’t wait for summer. And people speaking on a car must not own a house everything needs maintenance duh🤪 even the road ya drive on
Really enjoyed that video. My deal is, check out repair and maintenance costs first before buying a car so you know what you are expecting cost wise. Many of these cars as mentioned are really expensive to repair and can be cash pits....
I had a 03 S Type, one of the best cars I've had zero problems with it. Bought a 2012 Jaguar XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio Edition. The worst car I've ever had, nothing but problems have spent thousands of dollars for repairs on the horrible car. Just got rid of it for a Lincoln MKS Eco-boost AWD sedan. So far I love it! Much nicer than the XF. Don't buy a Tata in Jag drag!
Scotty would have 5 toyota's on the list. Good thing is, they would have manual transmissions. But you notice, he never says rev up your engines in a toyota. He just crawls into the trunk!
The numbers you are quoting for the V6 Jag are for the supercharged version of the 3L engine, the normally aspirated engine was 235Hp and 216 lbft. Also, repair costs are not that bad, the majority of things that go wrong are Ford based, just find a good independent shop.
you can have 1000 hp, but you can't drive over the speed limit, its just advertising to get you to buy the oldest trick in the book. and folks for it over and over geeshe.
The MKZ is an overdressed Taurus. Not a Fusion. I like the Infiniti best even though I own a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. Definitely avoid the drive by wire with everything you got! Thanks for sharing Christian! I look forward to seeing your next video. Best wishes and Peace out brother!
If he included the BMW 750 Li then he should have used the top of the line Jag, the XJL. The XF is the entry line vehicle and all the others he showed were at the top or near top of their brand. Also he should have used the pre 2013 models with the big V8's, the smaller 6 and 4 do not give the XF/XJL their proper due.
If I had to buy a car today. The MKZ would be the car. I saw one the other day and I thought it was a new 2019. It was the 2016. I told the owner no way. A very beautiful car.
Julian Parker I own a Lincoln MKZ and the buttons actually aren’t that bad after like 3 days you get used to it and it becomes useful with how responsive it is
I’ve got an Infiniti M35x and it hasn’t hiccupped in 10 years. (Had to replace the battery and tires...and ONE inexpensive switch in my a/c.). The Q60 is starting to look like my next car...Thanks for the vid. Excellent overview and personal opinions...Like the silly transmission buttons on the MKZ. Flashback to the 1966 Dodge Dart.
The Quattroporte is the one I would pick. It's one of those "Outside of a BMW" rides that I like. Really nice Styling. Just like my 335i, it wouldn't be my daily driver, and I could slap some aftermarket wheels on it! Vossen, Stance, Lexani, or a Forgi. 22"
My first car was a 1963 Plymouth Valiant, which had a push button transmission. I wish I had just saved up for a rebuild of the engine. Never felt I had any trouble parallel parking it. I guess it is just what you are used to driving.
With being an Infiniti/Nissan owner since 1995 up to date, I definitely agree with your comment of not trying to be something its not. I think that is what made Nissan upon entering into the N.A. market, even with its losing it's mark along the way. I have a soft spot for a nice come back story, and even tho it will be hard; some might say very hard, I do believe that impossible is nothing here in the U.S.A market. I am still in your corner Nissan, and please believe, I will stay leaned back to the side as I drive mine down the road. Great video man.
Pretty fair assessment. had to laugh at the turn off the screens comment...remember the motel 6 commercial. All motel rooms look the same with the lights turned off.
Didn't know MKZ comes with a powerful V6 too... I like the looks of it so I should consider it in the future, I just don't know if it's reliable enough
I have a 2017 2.0t reserve and very happy. I bought a extended bumper to bumper for 8 yr 100k miles they offered for $2400 which will cover everything. It is refundable if not used
No SUVs? I got a 2011 Infiniti QX56 for 16,000 and even though it’s older, it honestly competes with newer cars in terms of features, comfort, performance, luxury, reliability, etc. People constantly think I paid $60,000+ for it
Thee Jaguar XF 2012 thee Maserati and thee Infiniti beautiful shaped cars I own thee 2010 premium 5.0 and thee 2012 XF portfolio 5.0 but tha 2012 is my favorite 1 ... Great video bro ...
I completely agree with you and there is real option the get nice one rather than.. bmw.. or german staff.. it's so huge options in the market that we can easily pick one for us.
I have a MKZ (2014) and love it. Especially the sunroof. Not sure why parallel parking was a challenge with using the gear buttons, especially since it has auto parallel parking 😉.
in fact they are "cheap" because they end up quickly into endless....yes ! Moneypits !! ...thx, Scotty , who let me choose the right brand in the long term...LEXUS !! as a german i drove over 20 years our so called "premium" brands (what a bullshit !) .. and ended up with a Lexus and a lot of mileage on in; still running very nice and quiet. Infinity left euro market anyway...good luck with spare parts. Maserati are well known as unreliable as well as Jag´s and expensive BMW repairs (Bring Mich Werkstatt/ Bring Me into Workshop")
🤔that bimmer went from 90k to $14k faster than a stripper could drop it like it’s hot for dollar bills on the stage, which means it’s a gold digger ready to bankrupt its drivers 🤣
I have one: V12 (E38). Factory fitted Double-glazed windows, Electrically operated Rear Wind Screen, Black Perforated manual curtain at rear doors, Sports Feature Option. It is a Driver's Car, especially for long distances: London to Stockholm and to Istanbul ...they are becoming rarer and rarer, plenty with V8 but not V12.
Where do you suggest searching for a new used car? Dealership? Car rental sales? Craigslist, eBay? I’m looking for my last car... my old VW ‘02 Passat was the worst car I’ve ever owned and I’ve had VWs all my life. Left the lot and next thing - engine block cracked and I e spent more on repairs than I paid for the car.
Great video, I watched part 1 also. May I suggest another of these videos but for older cars? Not real old but cars that still fool people. For example, Porsche Boxsters from early 2000's, some of the Mercedes SUV's, etc.
@@Theaverageazn247 you aren't really supposed to buy any of them without a warranty. Power features on any of those cars are ultra expensive. You can get a good deal on those warranties bundled with the car nowadays
Honestly, there should be maybe one or two Kias in here.... hear me out!! Ok, so I own a 14 Optima sxl 2.0 turbo. 279HP 269 lb-ft 0-60 like 5 and 1/2 - 6 ish But the point is: heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats, panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel, nice interior, "fancier" looking exterior (I get compliments and ppl not believing it's a Kia) .. all these things that comparable "luxury" brands offer for like $12k .. it's relatively cheap to maintain and reliable as well.. it may not actually be a "luxury" brand, but they're doing big things.
