My grandma remembered the V1’s fly over her house near Ghent. Her father, my great granddad served in the Belgian army and was taken capture in Dunkirk. He got shot in the shoulder. We still have the cardboard red cross tag, after the battle he managed to escape during the early morning. He got rid of his uniform and walked home during the night. My grandma was 9y old at the time and when she saw and heard a V1 pass over during the war she asked her dad what it was. He replied with: “As long as it makes noise its fine, if it suddenly stops making noise get on the ground and close your eyes.” She got to know what these buzzing devices really were after the war. Her father got petrified any time a German fighter plane flew over. The sound of the Bf109 or Stuka made him flinch every time. They strafed the beaches that were packed full of ground troops with bombs, machine guns and 20mm cannons. They all survived the war, my great granddad died of old age and my grandma is still in excellent condition at 88y old now. Her memory is excellent and she often tells things about the war in great detail. Like the first time she saw a Pineapple, it was around the leg of a chicken. Allied soldiers sometimes got canned pineapple as desert. Chickens roamed around in the camps of the British and apparently a chicken managed to get a pineapple ring stuck around its leg. Also German soldiers gave candy to the children when they arrived in town, she was picked up by one who was carrying “a big scary looking all-metal gun” so it was most likely a MG34 gunner. And he unwrapped a piece of candy. But the people told the children that the candy was poisoned and they should not accept candy from the Germans (‘Den Duits’ as they were called). So my grandma refused to eat it, and was scared by the soldier, who took the candy and ate half of it. After wich my grandma reluctantly ate the other half of it. But it was very good 😂 it tasted like lemons of oranges or something. She never tasted something like that before. The first time she had citrus fruits it was when my great-granddad (who volunteered to work in France) brought tangerines home. He didn’t feel like building bombs and machineguns for Jerry so he volunteered to work on fruit plantations in France to earn money. Lots of soldiers that got captured were sent to workcamps in Germany where they made equipment for the German war machine. Needless to say they didn’t get tangerines...

Maybe do a story about Mad Jack Churchill, the British officer who fought in WW2 armed only with a Scottish broadsword and a longbow. Little known fact: he had the only confirmed kill by arrow in WW2
Sidenote. He captured a few soldiers with that sword aswell, played bagpipes atleast once during an assault and blamed the bloody yanks for ending the war too soon.

I downed a bomber on twisted steel the other day with one shot of the m95 gewher. Yeah I saved a video of it and yeah I can post it to my channel. It's just time consuming af to edit videos and put them together on a phone screen
@@AndreasH2202 I believe there was a confirmed case (also involving Americans and the Japanese) where the shooter was on the ground during a Japanese attack on the airfield Americans used. An old Colt revolver was his weapon. I will be checking the details tomorrow, as I remember which source to look in.
Fighting in the frontlines using Suppressed Ace-23 with Kobra sight and a US standard 2x zoom reticle with angled grip and an-peq laser/light attachment + QSZ pistol, ghost ring sighted muzzle braked pistol + IGLA missile launcher playing as the Marines with teammates stealing T-90s and BTRs every now and then in BF4 and no one bats an eye amputee girl soldier ( which the mechanical arms exist and so do female soldiers ) in BFV, everyone loses their minds. (I do agree that its dumb, however)
@@davidbrelu-brelu7118 BFV is already fictional when it came to be, V1 rockets can never be used as precision strike weapons, Parallax gun sights were only widely used on fighters, hell British tanks can not reverse faster than 4kmh until the Centurion came and the Matilda can reverse faster than a Ferdinand can go forward in BFV. Now unless DICE has a say in this to make a more realistic game like what BF2 was, Anything we get from the franchise after BF2 is gonna be fictional from now on.
@@maggsstuckey487 Yeah, but its meant to explode on impact, its literally a depth charge with a rocket motor with a detonation pin on the end, it could blow up bridges. That thing would demolish a tank. And modern MBT tank shells don't bounce, they go too fast to bounce, they will just shatter if they make contact with something but don't penetrate.
Why I love games with historic themes. Yeah there may be historically inaccurate parts but the game is supposed to make YOU do the research yourself and learn stuff from it.

I was using the KAR98K and shot a guy. It went through him and hit the guy behind him and killed the guy behind him. The first guy lived. Guess the guy behind him had low health. Loved that BF4 Dragon Teeth theme at the end too!
I know tanks have been buffed since you posted this, but I totally just had a moment in my head with his voice. "In Battlefield, many times the guns on tanks are harmless, you might be surprised to find out that the guns on tanks were quite devestating" then going onto describe one of thousands of moments when tank machine gun fire put in workd lmao.

One time, I randomly threw a grenade in battlefield V. Then I got a triple kill. I was extremely shocked because I accidentally pressed the button. Has that ever happened to you?
I hit an accidental triple collat when I misclicked with a SMLE in BF1, but nothing with nades. It sounds nuts, but the entire enemy team was rushing that flag lol
Fun fact about the battle of Stonne. The day after the Eure destroyed 13 german tanks in 20 minutes, antother B1 was sent to the village. there, he was engaged by german small arms and anti tank fire. He destroyed two or three anti tank guns and also put its tread in the ditch next to the road, where german infantry was hiding. The tank earned the nickname "the butcher" as it went back to base with the remains of several german soldiers stuck to the tread. After the fall of France the german army searched for the crew of the tank, in order to send them in front of a court of law, but could not find them, as they had escaped to britain. As for the commanding officer of the Eure, he went on to be a cabinet minister after the war. He was the son of general Billotte, which was killed in 1940, and was himself made prisonner a few days after the battle of Stonne. he escaped and went east to the soviet union, where he was interned until 1941. He then joined the free french forces and went on to be one of the first allied soldiers to set foot in Paris during the liberation of the town.
My friends great grandfather was a Marine in WW2 and he said when they had to bayonet the enemy, with the M1897, to get the Japanese soldier off of their bayonet quickly they would turn the upside down and shoot a round off and the body would just slide off due to the massive hole in their stomach/chest... you can't really do that in BF5 but that would be a sick and brutal animation if they added it.
Sorry, but that is a terrible idea. If your great grandfather was actually trained in how to use a bayonet, he'd know you thrust then twist, so the blade doesn't get stuck in the enemy.
BfV will not have the French because when the germans invaded France most of the French tanks were destroyed or captured and the military was either killed or captured and the ones that were lucky got on ships in dunkirk because they were pushed back to the sea with the British and even then the French only then had roughly 66,000 and only 26,000 French troops were evacuated the remaining 30-40k troops were captured. So all said and done the French really had no military after they were invaded
How come when I airdrop during grand operations, as a German, I am sitting in an C47 full of British soldiers? Is this a glitch or have they just not updated the game yet? Completely ruins the immersion and bugs the hell out of me

@@npg68 Same here i've always been busy playing online but i gave it a try and it's really good but i made one mistake... if you play it make sure to look up a video on how to get the special skin for the Tiger tank i forgot to do it on my first play and i don't have the energy to play it all over.

Me and a fellow player never attack eachother when we are in the air on opposite teams. We agreed to a truce one day after we spent 10 minutes just flying around in a circle, hoping for a miracle to happen. This sorta reminds me of that one time a BF109 helped a B17 all the way back the England after it was crippled by Flak and other BF109s.
I don't know if you're still doing this series but I got a "only in Battlefield moment IRL" that should be considered. The story of Alan Eugee Magee. He was a Ball Turret Gunner for a B-17 nicknamed "Snap! Krackle! Pop!" during WW2. On January 3 1943 during a daylight bombing run in Saint-Nazaire, France, German fighters or flak guns (I've heard stories mention either or) blew a good chunk off of the Bomber's right wing and caused it to go into a tail spin. Magee, despite being wounded during the attack, managed to escape from the turret and bail out. Unfortunately, he did so without a parachute as it was also damaged during the attack and was rendered useless. He fell 22,000 feet through the glass roof of the St Nazaire Train Station and onto the floor below. Now here's the crazy thing; because to the total astonishment of the Germans that went to recover his body (at least I would almost safely assume they were astonished) Alan Magee was very much STILL ALIVE. He went unconscious during the fall, but somehow survived his 22,000 ft. freefall to Earth. According to Magee, he regained consciousness during the trip to the hospital and shouted " Thank God I'm alive!" He ended up with 28 shrapnel wounds, several broken bones, a damaged nose, eye and injured his kidneys and lungs, but he survived his stint in the hospital, and ended up in a POW camp but not before earning the respect of the Germans who must have though this American was made out of steel or something. He survived the war and died on December 20, 2003 in San Angelo, Texas at the Age of 84. He's listed in Smithsonian magazine as one of the top 10 survival stories in WW2. Now I've seen some crazy bails that people have done out of planes in the Battlefield series of game and somehow get away with it, but this story blows all of that out of the ocean of "How the heck did that just happen!?"

On shooting the plane down with a pistol: I recall that the book "Sharks over China: The 23rd Fighter Group in World War II" by Carl Molesworth mentions one case of shooting a Japanese plane down with a sidearm, although it didn't involve the shooter parachuting. Instead, while on the ground, he fired at one of planes that were bombing the airfield one of US squadrons in China used. I can't remember the details, so I will look them up sometime tomorrow.
Okay, found it: Place: Yunnanyi, China - Airfield of US 74th Fighter Squadron, assigned to the 23d Fighter Group. They flew P-40s back then. Shooter: Lt. William B Hawkins Jr Weapon: "Old, six-shooter Colt", presumably Colt Peacemaker (as Hawkins also mentioned that he "could shoot a .45 quite well" Time: April 26th 1943 A big japanese formation of fighters and bombers caught the Americans by surprise due to radio malfunction in one of early warning stations. Due to that, no planes took off and, based on book, no-one managed to reach the 12.7mm machine guns either. Thus, all that crew managed to do was to hide in the trenches. Hawkins initially tried to take off, but saw that the engine cover in his P-40 was shattered by shrapnel, so he gave up and ran for the trench. Quote (translated from Polish, as that's the language I have this book in): "The Japanese approached very close to the ground, no more than 30 meters above the ground, and I was to the side. I fired at them twice when they were approaching and twice when they flew away. I was sure that I shot one of them down. Later it has been confirmed that one plane was shot down. I believe I was the only one shooting". The last sentence is indirectly confirmed by Dick Lee, one of mechanics who were there during the raid. Still, it's tough not to be at least a bit suspicious of that account (even if plane indeed went down).
I don't know if the story is affiliated with the frech tanks you mentioned. But there used to be a German anti-tank cannon that was commonly called "Heeresanklopfgerät" (army knocking device) since it was unable to penetrate armor and only "knocked" at the tank's door
I got some more ideas of just in Battlefield Moments. Did somebody ever hit a long shot with the drilling shotgun and did someone managed to hit and kill an enemy pilot ,while hes flying with only a sniper rifle
46 kills with the V-1 , not only did he level the block... but he also leveled up. Nah but forreal dice should add the prosthetic arm as a secret unlock, "but thats not realistic" yea it would also be kinda hilarious if say it had a melee kill part to it. Better yet how about a melee weapon that is you holding a mechanical arm now that i can live with. You want realism go find an actual reenactment and participate. I literally shot a pilot in the head with my tanks secondary mg , another time i jumped out a friendly plane then shot some unsuspecting fool with a rifle grenade while parachuting down.
Yea i doubt anyone would use wear it on their person, which is why i was saying add a Darth vader/luke Skywalker bionic arm melee weapon that your character holds and swings like a bat. But the extra hard 1% challenge unlock idea is good. My og post was 50% coherent thought , 50% late night ramble so keep that in consideration.
My grandad used to tell me of the time he was walking home and could hear the drone of the v1. Looked up there it was. Said it gave him cold shivers at night for the rest of his life. Also he remembers winning 10 grand operations and not getting the weapon unlock 🤔
There was a player who took out a bomber pilot with a revolver from the ground as it past by. The bomber was pretty high for a revolver to be affective.
Best bf moment I got was a seemingly endless dogfight that ended with me and the other guy colliding but somehow both survived and shot at each other parachuting down, I am happy to say I won that particular fight
My great uncle was a Halifax bomber bomb Aimer and his plain was shot down. While the plain was falling too the ground he managed to drag his friend out the crashing plane and survive

Take a look into Douglas Bader, the RAF pilot with no legs.(prostectics instead). He escaped multiple times from German prison camps. So much so they actually threatened to "take" his legs.
This makes me wish the French are in Panzerstorm, Twisted Steel, and Arras. Imagine the Char B1 and Somua S35 tanks battling against Pz.IV, Pz.38t. And learning about the streetcars as a way to get in the front is really great...
Regarding the V1.. British airmen would try to tilt it off course with their plane wings similar to the reference you made on your first video about airplane ramming.
french tank may absorbed 140 rounds, but german tiger tank at kursk withstood like 300+ rounds while killing approx 40 tanks and getting back to base unharmed
got any sources on that. because i only know 1 story that might fit that description where a tiger tank was hit more than 200 times by mostly tank gewehrs and low caliber cannons such as 57mm. and that tiger suffered severe damage just becasue of the impact force from all the shots like puncturing almost every fuel tank and blocking the horizontal turret drive

Dude, excellent video. I'm used to wonder how efficient were those machine guns mounted on WW2 bombers against attacking fighters. In BF5 with some training you can make sure to delete any enemy fighters at your 6 if they fligh straight behind you...the game is probably not realistic on this point, but what do we historically know about this? o7
