5 most annoying things while mapping 

My biggest nightmare when it comes to mapping: Figuring out which Oceanian islands belong to who.

5. Omg I hate that! Lmao! That's why when I make my maps, I make sure anti-aliasing is off. I didn't know how to turn that off for much longer than I care to admit... 4. I'm a geography nerd so I don't have that problem 3. Can't say I've ever lost a slide 2. God dangit I hate this so much. I just tried to upload one today and had only an hour, but apparently an hour wasn't enough. 1. That's why I keep an EXTREMELY high res (4000x2500 or so) map of the world in my folder, so if I need a region of the world, I can just crop off the areas I don't need and save as a new map. Then, it's not low res, and it's accurate. :D

2:10 It's my map XDDDDDD It's not that pixelated though (in reality), it's like 1100px x 1300px. I changed it some time ago because of annoying anti-aliased borders. About point number 3, I used to miss slides a lot so now I have an impulse to check if it's saved and with only one change before closing the file.

I haven't any of these problems. My biggest problem is bad video-editor which crashes often and is full of bugs.

I do mapping in freetime and I think that it isn't too difficult, but every time I have to modify the map to get e good animation!

My biggest nighmare when planning to be a mapper : Anti - Aliasing.

I hate it when the maps are JPG's or just low resolution. You try and fill in a country and all these dots appear at the sides because of the compression process. It's a real nightmare finding a nice map. I might start making my own templates...

The most annoying thing that happens to me is when I realize that I didn't remove the text of what the country said by the next slide, and just have the war going on with the country's flag in the corner with the same dialogue for like 20 slides of war. It kills me every single time lol

Uploads seem to be pretty quick for me, once it was done before I was finished with the description XD 1. Yeah, that is why I've had ideas for like 10 series, and never found a map...

Moral of the story: Wikimedia has everything and it's all guaranteed to be completely free as well.

The most annoying to me is when the borders mess up, and I have to fix it because other countries change colors with the one I want to change...

My problems with mapping: Being unable to find names for new nations, then having to slap your forehead on the keyboard in the hopes of finding something you can actually pronounce.

I have had most of these problems, except for the missing slides one. I must be so lucky.

Missing slides happened to me in Part 4 of my series. The Moroccan conquest of the Vatican was originally much more detailed. :(

I use a different program. It's called algodoo. Download it, go to Algobox, search a continent or country, and hit m and box up the part you want and drag it to the car. Make a new set, well, look the rest up on RU-vid. It's so fun!

I have most often too, except 4. AND 1 IS SO ANNOYING AAAAAAAARRRRGH!

The first one is my worst enemy, and the upload times are annoying, otherwise the other problems are manageable, I know every country and capital in the world by heart so I never run into that problem. I make my own maps for every video, it's just easier to make the layout and stuff that way, plus I always get the exact map I want, unless I have to make my own map from several maps with different projections, and that leads to approximation in some cases, because if I really can't get it to work, I can freehand draw a decent map of pretty much anywhere anyway. Also, I HATE when I'm missing a slide, I ALWAYS save several copies of old maps so that, if necessary, I can layer two or more slides to get the middle one I need, unless it's just a colour change, then that's easy.

"Map plox?" is no longer a problem, since that page uses tabs now. Even if it was still a problem you could just do Ctrl+F (Command+F on Mac).

IonMapping as a fellow mapper I can confirm these are 100% correct (Ugh still can't believe I used anti aliased borders...)

Just use the “Paint” map on Computer. It’s way easier then what the other tutorials show, and it comes with the PC

Actually Cyprus have split into two parts Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on the north and the greek part on the south. But the UN isnt recognizes the northern part. And in the maps Cyprus is only seen as one nation.

That thing where the borders are more than one color. It's also the reason why I just stick to aliased text like MS Sans Serif and MS Serif, and I copy-paste white text off of Powerpoint to do the country name thing. 4. I check on GeaCron or Wikipedia or Omniatlas. 3. I get that sometimes when I forget to save at some points. Since I save them as numbers, if I wanted to put a slide between 3 and 4, I would save the slide I wanted as 4.5, so that the computer puts it in between 3 and 4. 2. My videos mostly take just a minute or two (or a few more on occasion)... 1. I don't like anti-aliased maps either. Same as 5.

One REALLY annoying problem I have (I use photoshop) I am saving a slide, and i forget to make it a .png so it saves as .psd (photoshop doccument) so my video will skip a slide or if I can catch it early enough I can redo a couple slides.
