No, it will decrease the value of mapping. It will be too easy and the best mappers will collapse. The mapping community will consist of cancerous 10 year olds.
Tips: When mapping wars, use the wand tool on a defending country to make it so that the color can not leave the area, making it easier to map. Keep anti aliasing off. Don't make attacks too big. Add capitals in wars.
+Morgimanstudios 1. Are you sure your border doesn't have any holes? 2. If you checked and there are no holes, then trying lowering the tolerance of the bucket tool. It's on the top when you have your bucket tool selected.
+British Mapper Hey I'm having the same problem and I don't really know what you said means and I really want to map but it just makes the names and borders blurred.
Also when doing wars don't just make the bigger country just roll over smaller countries. Sometimes it can look realistic if the smaller country has some victories here and there and also take into account geography. Look at a map and find mountains and rivers. Mountains and rivers are more defensive and you could have it so troops would capture some parts easier ex.forests, plains and deserts but harder to capture areas would be mountains, thick jungle, rivers and big cities. Make sure to also look at military power of nations including military equipment and not just manpower. Sometimes smaller nations can be more powerful.
This comment here man, I remember seeing a series recently and Germany somehow slammed through Switzerland immediately There were at least like 10 issues with that
Just a tip: Use different layers for the countries. This is my layer setup: -Names -Borders -Map The reason why I keep the borders and names separated is because it prevents the gaps in the names.
***** thanks a million man, just did it and i don't get it now. but i still get this weird green glow around the country names, should i just replace them? im halfway done with my mapping vid but i don't feel like starting all over again
I've started mapping about a week ago, I'm doing great already! thanks for doing a great tutorial! (I've also got 2 mapping series that are out, you can watch them if you want)
I love mapping and country balls (as you can see by my icon) and I'm definitely capable of doing it with Pixelmator, but I feel like it's too time consuming
@IonMapping sadly, although this is a good mapping tutorial, this doesn't work for me, I use a Chromebook and all the apps aren't compatible with chromebook.
This bit doesnt work anymore its works like a kid is ruining it. No hate to you. :/ 7:37 For pixel perfect use for making AFOE videos is the pencil tool. It helps you with anything to do with the war bit. ;)
