If you are a really good mapper you can do Microsoft paint mapping

Tips: When mapping wars, use the wand tool on a defending country to make it so that the color can not leave the area, making it easier to map. Keep anti aliasing off. Don't make attacks too big. Add capitals in wars.

Anyone having trouble with using bucket tool? it gets blurry? find antialiasing and turn it off job done!

Everytime i use the Recolor and bucket tool it will have this weird unwanted blurry smudge around the borders and names. Halp me.

Also when doing wars don't just make the bigger country just roll over smaller countries. Sometimes it can look realistic if the smaller country has some victories here and there and also take into account geography. Look at a map and find mountains and rivers. Mountains and rivers are more defensive and you could have it so troops would capture some parts easier ex.forests, plains and deserts but harder to capture areas would be mountains, thick jungle, rivers and big cities. Make sure to also look at military power of nations including military equipment and not just manpower. Sometimes smaller nations can be more powerful.

Is powerpoint good for mapping? i use it to make my mapping videos Edit: Now I don't use powerpoint. I regret using it in the first place.

If do you want to use Photoshop, use photopea, its online and free

Just a tip: Use different layers for the countries. This is my layer setup: -Names -Borders -Map The reason why I keep the borders and names separated is because it prevents the gaps in the names.

When I use the bucket tool,there is this haze,almost,around the border and name of the country.Eventually it just makes a big mess.

Pro-Tip: Create a new layer for the country names, it will get you in less trouble.

When i use bucket the borders get thinner and thinner until there is no border

I usually use Paint and PowerPoint, To make the slides. I use Paint And for the slides, I use PowerPoint.

@IonMapping sadly, although this is a good mapping tutorial, this doesn't work for me, I use a Chromebook and all the apps aren't compatible with chromebook.

I also wondered if flash was suitable for mapping.

For some reason, when I use bucket tool, the bit of the map I have bucketed fades a lighter shade of the colour. Is there a fix, or is this normal?
