“Immersing myself in medieval horror stories feels like stepping into a captivating Eris charm, a world where darkness and mystery intertwine seamlessly. Unlike the chaos of the modern era, there’s a unique allure to the medieval tales that transcends the comforts of today. The appeal lies in the ancient whispers that echo through time, making me prefer the medieval over the modern any day.” Great videos as always mate.
A medieval werewolf tale where the werewolf is not a savage killing machine bent on distruction of everything and everyone….unbelievable. It must come from very early Middle Ages or even before, as no way the medieval church would let a tale like that circulate…..I love it. 💞
A lot of werewolf legends in Europe feature werewolves that keep their human intelligence and even the ability to speak in wolf form. We only know about those with “evil” werewolves (which were already evil as humans, not cursed to become bloodthirsty monsters but already bloodthirsty monsters who became werewolves to be able to maim and kill people better) because they’re more spectacular and dramatic, and they make for good stories.
Just wanted to say I really appreciate your content, always interesting and I love your sense of humor. The graphics are fantastic👌 there's nothing like middle ages/medieval art, I wish my childhood story books would've had some of those incredible and sometimes hilarious images!
If anyone's very keen on Medieval Tradition, mindset and warfare I hotly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series. The dives into Medieval spirituality are mind-blowing to say the least
Lmao 99% of people are not going to find that channel even remotely palatable, it’s the most pedantic channel on this platform, and the guy is entrenched in eurocentrism to a painfully obvious degree. Fuck no. I used to sub to him and was often one of only a few people that would even comment, but quickly unsubbed when it became obvious where his personal ideology and sentiments lie. No thanks.
@@nyxspiritsong5557Schwerpunkt is not similar to this channels style at all. It’s deep level minutiae involving the Middle Ages. Tbh unless you are studying that period in university, it is likely not what most people would want to sit and listen to.
Should do one for modern times Like electric bill Gas bill Petrol and grocery shopping That's scary enough lol Mind you still lots succubuses out on a Saturday night So nothing ever changes lol 👍🤗
That first story is obviously true. Women in that line continue to be born without noses to this day. I haven't listened to the rest of the video yet, but I'm sure all of them are accurate and true, and those doubting them simply don't understand how these things work.
"i have a question but am afraid to ask you lest you become angry with me..." "no never, my love! ask it and if i know, i will tell you." "would it bother you if you found out I am screwing your brother?" "😲😡🔪" never say never 😁
Hi do you have any book recommendations on British folklore, myths, legends, superstitions ? I am always up for good British history and British social history recommendations if you have any I would be very very grateful. Best wishes lindz
Do you ppl even read the other comments? Youre like the 50th person in the last week to post this. Feel better for correcting someone on the internet now? Lol the only people that care how its pronounced ALREADY KNOW HOW ITS PRONOUNCED. You think him pronouncing it incorrectly matters that much in that case?
Thanks to modern media, the Succubi has undergone some changes. While they DO still sexually prey upon mortal creatures, some stories depict them as misunderstood. One book I read this year called Legends & Lattes, for instance features a Succubus protagonist (albeit a secondary protagonist) named Tandri. The way HER powers work is that she can sense the lustful emotions of other people and beings near her but she doesn't seduce them like most of her kind would
I can’t with this “sam-hayn” stuff anymore, for the love of all that is Irish it’s “SOW-IN”. I know it makes no sense, it’s a batshit crazy language but please, _p l e a s e_ everyone, stop it with the sam-hayn.
Typical woman. My missus is constantly on at me about wandering around the woods naked thinks I’m bananas for shouting at the moon. Now I know why, she just wants to get back with her ex who identifies at a cat
Jesus, medieval writers sure did hate women, didn’t they? More than half of those stories just made women out to be like a walking, talking scourge of all men. Ah misogyny, ruining womens lives since……well, the beginning of human history
