"Okay sir, why do you think we should take you Into our company? What are some of your credentials?" "I GOT STREETS ONE TWELVE, I AM A FUCKING LEGEND."
3:05 Imagine being on vacation at a country of your choice, you go to an city and decide to take a drink somewhere. Then all of the sudden a man who is looking down, performing strange movement, firing rockets and screaming about how amazing and what for a legend he is appears.
Everyone's talking about how cringey the streets 1:12 guy is, meanwhile I couldn't stop smiling because of how adorable I thought his excitement was. Like c'mon guys, just let a guy have fun and be proud of an achievement
goodmaki I've seen you make the same comment at least three times. Do you get off on devaluating someone's efforts or something? Do you just do it to make yourself feel better? It boggles the mind.
It's a hell of a lot more than that. A statistic released a while ago states, there is 24 hours worth of video uploaded to RU-vid every minute. So that's 3.9 years of video everyday. So that's 1423 years worth of video - every year. This statistic was from 2010 - I'm sure it's a lot more now
I see! That is quite interesting, so thanks for the info. I suppose I phrased my original reply wrongly; by '11-12 years worth' I meant as in videos have been uploaded to RU-vid for 11-12 years.
What happened to Apollo is such a huge shame. This guy had so much potential on youtube. I hate being reminded of this channel... it just makes me sad every time
I remember seeing that clip of the goldeneye run and I actually thought it was a joke. Not the run itself, I just thought some rando voiced over it for comedic effect. Because come on, the contrast in audio and visuals is just amazing.
OH MY GOD I remember that Mario 3 TAS! I saw someone share it on Myspace back in the day and I thought it was so cool. I never knew that was a TAS until this video, and it's cool that my love for speedruns goes that far back.
Nothing will ever be more impressive than that guy who beat Super Mario World blindfolded tbh. Like that guy just transcended his sight and dead became Daredevil.
How could you not mention Bonesaw's Jak & Dexter Speedrun from AGDQ, many people see it as the funniest and most entertaining speedruns ever created. It's also legendary becose bownsaw was later banned from AGDQ becose of his run. I mean, you made a video about it, so why not putting it on the list? There is no other speedrun I watch more often than this, it's funny every time.
For people having trouble finding Cosmos speedrun on that archive site, i have it in full on my channel (unmonetized), just for perserving it since it was gone from youtube
Honestly, the more I think about it -- these compilations by content creators like Apollo, EZScape, and GladJonas are really genius. Each year, twice a year -- with the growing popularity of GDQ, these videos will receive more and more views. Obviously there is an eventual end to this, but man good moves guys.
Oh hey I remember watching Cosmo's zelda run live during my final year of undergrad. That commentary definitely spiked my interest in speedruns by a few orders of magnitude.
My personal favorite is Quake Done Quick With a vengeance. It got me started in watching speedruns. Its ... well, nothing really special, but its where I started yeah, but all these are great. Thanks AL.
There was a guy this month who spent 250 hours and eventually beat The Goldeneye 007 Dam record set in 2002(53 seconds) by one second. I’d say that’s pretty impressive
