Those are scripted promos. If superstars refuse to do certain things like promos. They're "punished" by either losing their championship belt or embarrassing losing to a low ranking superstar or wrestling back to back on a tight schedule until their body gives up. WWE is not flowers and rose, there's severe internal politics.

Stop trying to find racism in everything, if HHH or Vince were actually racist they wouldn't hire somebody that isn't white to WWE, or they wouldn't acknowledge Latinos or blacks huge input to the wrestling business, or Booker T would've never even he inducted into the Hall of Fame. WWE has pushed a lot of African American wrestlers but they never make it for one or another reason, Ahmed Johnson was on his way to become WWF Champion but injuries plagued his career. I mean, I am sorry Mark Henry was never WWE Champion. But the fact that a pure African American wrestler hasn't become WWE Champion yet is matter of skill, charisma, hard work and the "it" factor (which on Vince's eyes is just being a muscle head) and not a matter of race.

Racial stereotyping was always a part of wrestling during the glory days. People used to be smart enough to realize it was entertainment and the insults were done by the "Heels" to generate heat and get the fans riled up and interested in the storyline of the feud and match. The creative people and wrestlers who come up with the storyline's are much more limited by what they can do and they have to walk on eggshells now when coming up with the feuds even though wrestling fans are generally a non politically correct crowd.

I am german and i don't get offended by that. Germany has a historical background and JBL used that to get heat from the audience. He played a role and that's it.
