I am assuming you mean the white vinegar commonly used in indian households by "vinegar", So I will answer for that. White vinegar and rice vinegar have really constrasting and different flavours. Rice vinegar is more on the sweeter end, while white vinegar is sour and a little harsh. In fact, white vinegar is the most intense vinegar out there. If you want to try substituting white wine vinegar for rice vinegar, add it in a 1:1 ratio. And to add just a hint of sweetness, add 1/4 teaspoon or a gram of sugar per tablespoon 15 ml of the white wine vinegar.

15 ml and teaspoon is 5 ml. you can also use 3 teaspoons to make a tablespoon ofcourse. if you have a measuring cup just use approx 15 ml of its capacity for 1 tablespoon of whatever ingredient you want to add
