5 Music Management Tips In Traktor Pro 3! 

I know Traktor doesn't pull many views for you guys since the market at the moment is dominated by pioneer, but props for sharing these tips! I knew the key and BPM searches were there in the new version but you've reminded me to try and use it now :)

I came to find the info on consistency check, very helpful. My favorite tip is #4, I love the idea of pulling up similar bpms and/or keys while you're in the moment. Thank you!

Wow, I've learned alot from this video... Also another great tip... to have your songs even more organized... simply hit the bpm button and you'll see all your songs re organize to similar bpms going all the way down your whole playlist!

Thanks a lot. I'm a total beginner and had a relatively organised collection, but this is very useful. It also made me aware of key mixing (I have so far just used BPM as main guidance) so I'm off to that video now!

@Crossfader love the video, brilliant, what i would say, is maybe slow the process down? For those new to traktor, or new to the settings, having to pause and rewind isn't easy especially when your not sure what your doing?!

Nice video. Especially if you have a large library and memory fades regarding old songs, the magnifier with key is helpful. How accurate is that actually?

On tip #5, Traktor is the only software that has a automated “database repair” feature. To access this go to check consistency / missing files / relocate. it then finds all renamed and moved files in a single go (possible because it identifies files by content and not filename) I built my whole workflow around this! github.com/pestrela/music_scripts/blob/master/traktor/README.md#why-is-traktor-my-software-of-choice-a-database-repair

some of the updates from traktor 3 were throwing me off. searching by bmp/key is helpful, as is the setting for which get color in the browse list. Thanks!

Hey, i’m a big fan of your page (& a student in a few of your paid courses) I was wondering if you can give me any advice as to how to label/categorize music beyond the simple “genre” category. Take for example a remix of a popular rap or r&b song. If it’s now an EDM (or trap) song with some original r&b (or rap) parts, how do you manage that? how do you go a step further & categorize it so you can easily look at the songs & find ones that have a drop, a build up, strings, or the vibe is a chill/sad vibe. or a chill/uplifting jazzy vibe. how do you put all those different descriptions in a song as opposed to just genre?

Hi how are you ?? I'm just wondering something! I have a folder in my library with my favorite tracks and I want to mix them in key. I find really useful the tool for finding all the matching key tracks, the thing is when I try to find them with the magnifying glass it brings me all the tracks in my library that matched but I just want to see the ones I have in that particular folder. Is there any way to do this ??

Thank you for the tips. I have just downloaded Traktor Pro...Tip 5 did not work on my computer: All tracks selected, then right clic and I can not see the list to check consistency. Is there any other way to get there? Also, to organise the columns, when I clicked on heading, lets say track name, It is not showing the full list like in your video. So I can only drag the order but am not able to delete. Let me know if you know of any other way to delete columns. Thank you so Much!

Friendly reminder to back up your HD to another source before and after you do this. I use an external since Day 1 with Traktor since I started DVS back in 2008. Back when this all started my Serato friends looked at TSP as way too much work. I loved it and today Serato has lots of the same now. I believe this is still the better option for me and I use Serato as well.

#4 i didn't know about and will use as itll save me time. How do you get rid of duplicate songs? I have a bunch in my traktor library and dont know how thry duplicated.

Good video did not know about the search matchong BPM ...* also very intersed to know.If you can answer or any one ...can you mix 3 tracks at once example have 4 decks as I think there is a selection on a drop down menu ?? Can Pro 3 mix 4 decks as it says it can but not much proof......reason for asking is ...I do mega mixers ...and would be good to Sync one track and sync..the other 2 decks -to make a faster mega mix ....do not realy need 4 ....but I think the option is there....or is it NOT ?? Hello I’m running Ventura . As far as the automatic track loaded at start up . The first lesson. Yup! I don’t have the option to click the folders on my external hd. The hd drive does not show up as a option. Any ideas. Some how the music is there on tractor but can’t add the folder where it says music folder. Ty

I was trying to get my iTunes inventory to show up like it did in the last version of Traktor. I think I figured out that the songs are in 'Releases', it seams as though I'm missing tracks though. Anyone else having this?

Hi I was wondering if you could please help me I bought tecknics decks and tracktor z2 mixer which came with tractor scratch software from a guy but he never gave me the licence key number and never transferred the software into my name so I haven't been able to update the software since I bought it from him and I have n no way of getting in touch with him

Can anyone point me in the right direction please i cant seem to re order my browser tree everything is in alphabetical order and that sucks i try and re order my playlists but it wont let me HELP PLEASE

My “track collection” now consists of only same bpm or key.

If you move files on your drive and you do relocate. Are all your tags still there or.....do i have to tag them again with color, comments etc etc. Forgive me if i wrong but if you move a file on your HDD that never played before, all the tags are gone.
