Here we are 2 years later. Thanks for waiting. I was in a good position to release the video early in the year, but I lost a lot of gameplay and had to re-record most of it. I actually have a designated space for working on videos now so hopefully, I'll be able to speed up production. I graduated college and have a full-time job now that I have to account for. I'm going to have time to work on videos scheduled for myself though. There are 2 more Wii Hidden Gem videos to come, followed by some other Wii-related topics. I also cover many other topics that might interest you. Thanks for being here though.
All Wii footage is recorded in 480p over component cables from my original Wii using an original El Gato.

I like your videos because they are deep dives. Most “Hidden Gems” are not really hidden because half a dozen RU-vidrs have highlighted them. You’re digging into good games that they missed. Among the 900-1000 games widely dismissed as shovelware, there have got to be dozens and dozens that are fun-even if hundreds are not. One major RU-vidr has like 175 Wii games in his entire collection. That would seem to suggest there are a thousand games he’s never tried. Trivia: how many games have you played that you rejected? What percentage truly earns the name “Shovelware”? Anyway, I’m sure there are still far more in the way of hidden gems, and I look forward to the results of your future research.

Hmm, the only not so hidden gem for the wii I own is "Sid Meier's Pirates!". Not incredible, but I definitely had lots of fun playing it, even though the pc version is way better. Looking forward to the next "Hidden Gems" videos!

I'd eat breakfast two times a day if Wii games fell out of my cereal box every time. Thanks for the video. Always a joy. TinTin looks especially promising. Your videos have got me looking at these licensed games more. I played through Alice in Wonderland on your recommendation and enjoyed it. If you ever get a chance I'd be curious of your thoughts on Yu-Gi-Oh Wheelie Breakers. I have never played it, nor am I interested in Yu-Gi-Oh, however the combination of card battles while racing motorcycles looks quite intriguing. The concept alone almost has me sold. A few other obscure wii games I have been playing and enjoying are: -Counter Force (budget Starfox) -Lost in Blue Shipwrecked (Colorful Survival game) -Sims 2 Castaways (Also a survival game...better than Lost in Blue. Not like typical Sims games.) -Pac-man Party (Pretty good Mario Party clone with cool co-op bosses to beat) -Help Wanted (Mini game collection with a great wacky story to hold it together.)

Help Wanted is actually slotted to be in the intro segment for the next hidden gems video. I like it a lot and it has a very fun plot, but I believe I have seen a few people talk about it. I thought I would give it a little note that way. Not every game I put in those openings I would consider a hidden gem, but I would definitely consider them very interesting. I'll have to look into the others. I have heard of Yu-Gi-Oh Wheelie Breakers, and I would be interested in giving it a try. I've looked it up a few times before, but I've never played it. I'll see about your suggestions. Thanks for the recommendations!

Enclave for the Wii is a slightly janky port of the much better and extremely underrated (in my opinion) xbox original. Back in the day, I remember thoroughly playing through both light and dark campaigns of the xbox version and loving every minute of it. I recall the game getting criticized mainly for its ridiculous difficulty but being praised for most everything else. It was a hard game for its day with any random, low level enemy being able to smash your HP meter if you didn't execute good defense through quick footwork and timed blocks with your shield, not to mention there basically NO checkpoints in the levels. Its a you die -- you start over kinda game. It's tough but that's what makes the game so great because everything matters. You can never relax and just button smash. Furthermore, the game was either 1st or 3rd person, and I recall the Wii version also having both 1st and 3rd POVs. So maybe try the 3rd person view, it helps with the more defensive moves. Great video BTW. Thanks for the Wii content. I'm a huge Wii fan. My dream is that someday the "hardcore" gaming community with finally see how unique and fun the Wii actually was -- a perfect compliment to an otherwise more lengthy, more grindy, and sometimes bloated era of game design. Bite size gaming has its place too.

I completely agree. Even when it comes to shooters, it's hard to beat the precision that a Wii remote offered. The technology had a lot of potential to break barriers in a good way. It just got relegated to being a child's toy by most wider communities. In my opinion, a big shame. I actually have the Xbox version of Enclave, and when I first tried it, thought it was kinda janky as well. I agree the Wii version takes it a step forward in jankiness though. Despite that, both version of the game are very endearing to me. Yes, the Wii version also supports 1st and 3rd person perspectives.
