As Sean “Diddy” Combs’ third request for bail is still pending in an appeals court, the music mogul was in court Thursday to hear the latest updates in his criminal case. The prosecution says it’s currently working its way through terabytes of discovery. For now, Combs’ trial is scheduled to start in May of next year. Law&Crime’s Jesse Weber discusses the top developments with criminal defense attorney Natalie Whittingham-Burrell.

Frankly i'm glad that the bar for witness intimidation is so low. I was a witness that was contacted even with a restraining order, and was pressured to recant. The court never knew. It happens in like most of abuse cases. It's a circular situation: it's hard to find out if witnesses are being intimidated because THEY ARE BEING INTIMIDATED! So err on the side of caution when you have cases that are likely guilty.

Yes innocent until proven guilty however, It seems to me if I were a victim and Ditty gets out on bail that in and of itself would be intimidation and cause victims to be scared and keep them from not coming forward. Not everyone gets bail, of course he wants out. However, he may have committed murder and that’s a big deal. The judge should think of the victims

IMO, letting The Diddler out makes it even easier for him to utilize his small army of co-conspirators, staffers etc. to threaten potential witnesses, destroy evidence still out there etc.. Even his adult sons are trouble! His charges are so egregious, including 25 (so far) MINORS abused, if this was anybody else, they wouldn’t be released to live large in a 17K sq ft palatial mansion for eight months. It took incredible bravery for victims to come forward and his release would likely inhibit additional victims from speaking out. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 for them and his bail denial!
