Quick question...For someone who has no real traction online and hasn't started writing online, do I have to start writing on a site like Medium or on my blog before I launch my newsletter? I read somewhere that it is better to have an engaging audience before launching my newsletter. Is this correct or can i just go straight to launching my newsletter direct as the first thing I do online? I'll appreciate your response. Thank you in anticipation.
Thanks so much for the kind words! You absolutely *can* launch your newsletter first. But there are a lot of good reasons to start creating content wherever your audience hangs out before you do so (or at the same time). That might be Medium, but it could equally be Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn or wherever your audience "lives" online. By publishing there, you'll build relationships with other people in your audience, grow your reputation, and learn more about what kind of content your audience wants from you. And of course that's how you can get your newsletter in front of the right people too!
