Will: Drew Brees Aaron Rodgers Ben rothlisberger Tom brady Eli Manning Won't: Andy Dalton Joe flacco Alex smith Kirk cousins Mathew Stafford Just saved you 9 minutes of your life you will never get back
No he's famous because he guaranteed that game being a heavy underdog in a league most people didn't take seriously take away the guarantee and most prolly wouldn't know who he was, but yeah definitely mediocre at best
I don't see why nameth guarentee is such a big deal tbh. Yeah they were going against juggernauts in the colts at that time but damn what's he supposed to say? "We are going to go out there and get our asses kicked"
Namath is in because of the guarantee and solidifying the AFL as equals to the NFL. He’s overrated but those are the reasons he’s in. I think a better comparison for Flacco is Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Mark Rypien, or Jeff Hostetler.
Joe Namath was auctually a great QB it’s just that he spent his prime with the AFL and dealt with injuries in his last couple of seasons which was in the nfl
@@watergirl929 Rodgers makes a poor team competitive enough to be in the playoffs regularly. His team is garbage and falls apart without him. When Peyton Manning left the Colts, they went 1-15 the next season etc. In my opinion that's a good measure of a QBs value. Brady for example has a great team around him, they've gone 14-6 in games he's missed. He's still a great player but there's no doubt that Rodgers is one of the most valuable QBs in the league
Here’s one guy who will be a Hall of Famer. Philip Rivers. Even though he won’t ever get to a Super Bowl, he was a better quarterback than Eli Manning. He has a better winning record as a starting quarterback than Eli. He’s close to reaching 60,000 passing yards & 400 touchdown passes in his career.
@@KyleWidmyer do you watch football? Im asking seriously.... Wilson's been putting up number and people still fail to recognize how great he is at what he does
@@KyleWidmyer do you realize how bad of a O line he has? And how he's made 2 super bowl appearances in a row and won one of them, and how he's literally putting up MVP like stats this year and has been for most of his career, last year was the first year he missed the playoffs in his whole career
Uh, Matt Ryan: Will! Sure he lost his only Superbowl, (A horrible collapse against the Patriots more due to the coaches than Matt!) but he does have a winning playoff record, an MVP award & killer stats! There's still plenty of time to add to his resume, but I think he has enough now.
Lol are you kidding me? You made very good valid points until that last line. Ryan has a ton of time to build his resume and hes with a good franchise. But how the hell do you think he has enough now? Like seriously I dont understand how its possible for any person who has seen an NFL game to think that. You do realize we are talking about the Hall of Fame right?
Where the Hell is Matt Ryan?... :::Some Time Ago::: 5 QB's that will win a super bowl, and 5 that won't Right before explaining why Matt Ryan wouldn't win a Super Bowl, Dequan Young uttered these EXACT words. "Make no mistake about it, Matt Ryan is going to the hall of fame"
Christopher Devoreaux he fumbled the ball on a crucial third down ok and wait he is the QB if his defense is struggling and he really is a “hall of fame QB “ shouldn’t he have clutched up and scored. Secondly I’m the eight year old look who spelling Matt with one t.
Opinionated 1 you may be the dumbest person I’ve ever read a comment from, Atlanta dealt with O line injuries as well in the second half of that game giving us weaker backups hence why they don’t start... which led to more pressure and he couldn’t get it out and they Striped him, if you can hold a ball in your hand when a 250-300 pound man swats your hand let me know. Matt Ryan didn’t choke. It was a team thing.
Daniel Mullins when I’m an NFL quarterback and I train for hits like that and from 250-300 pound men and I have the body of an NFL quarterback come back to me and btw if the oline was really that hurt how did he get the 28-3 lead in the first place
@@derektheseahawkslightningf2932 true about rating, but he doesn't have yards, touchdowns and completions but now that i think abt it he might if he keeps it up
I'm a bit late to the party but how in the hell can you say Kirk Cousins will not make the Hall and not mention Russell Wilson who was drafted in the same draft and has got more Accolade and he's not even mentioned...? Russ is a shoo-in for the Hall....
Joe Flacco Not Only Won The Super Bowl He Was The MVP Of That Game, And He Isn't Done Yet, Remember The Year He Won The Super Bowl Nobody Thought He Would Ever Play In The Super Bowl Let Alone Be The Most Valuable Player. The Denver Broncos And Skinny Joe Flacco Are Going To Win More Than One Super Bowl. Wait And See And Remember That You Heard It First From Me.
You guys out here dissing Matt Ryan saying he has a overpowered offense so did Peyton Manning with Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison.Big Ben hadHines ward and Antonio brown.Joe Montana had jerry rice and Dwight Clark.Matt Ryan is the fastest player to reach 40000 yards.Just because a choke in the super bowl doesn’t put him in the hof. There are a ton of players who have been to numerous Super Bowls and won with the team doesn’t mean they get in hof.Matt Ryan has the stats to prove he is a top 20 qb all time.
Philip Rivers is a better quarterback than Eli, and except for 2 games (albeit Superbowls) Rivers would be a better lock for Canton than Eli. And I think mentioning Namath at all is ridiculous - if Namath represents the bar for a quarterback to be considered for Canton, the line to get in now includes about 100 more players. That all said, Eli better hope that he gets selected very early in his eligibility, because every year that goes by will diminish his chances. He was/is a mediocre quarterback who played a long time without major injury and had two great defenses that carried him into two Superbowls. In 10+ years if the NFL passing game remains as it is today, Eli will not look all that impressive anymore.
You are totally wrong...his second Super Bowl he carried his team! look at his stats that season. He had 7 come from behind wins (all in the 4th quarter). He also set a single season record for 4th quarter touchdowns that season...I think it has since been broken, but at the time a big deal. He carried his team that year and players on his defense acknowledged that, Justin Tuck said he should have been the league MVP.
@Corey Nieves Are you saying I'm totally wrong because of the facts, or because I'm not an Eli Manning Fanboy? Because I'd rather argue facts. Eli's second Superbowl was the 2011-2012 season. According to pro-football-reference.com, Eli had 5 4th quarter comebacks that season. It wasn't a record then (the record was 7 then by his brother Peyton), and yes, the record is now 8 by Matthew Stafford. But is that an important stat? Eli's 5 comebacks in 2011 are tied with the likes of Don Majkowski, Kerry Collins, Jake Plummer, Tim Tebow, and Jake Delhomme. And sure, Brady had a 5 4th quarter comeback season too. And so has Tony Romo. It's a big list. So although you may be enamored by this stat, I'm not impressed at all. Not a big deal, not then, not now. As far as carrying his team, that was a decent season for Eli. 4th in the league in passing yards. 13th in completion percentage. 7th in touchdowns. 9th in QBR. And only 7th in interceptions. He was quite possibly one of the top 6 quarterbacks that year, I'll give you that. One of his 4 Pro Bowl seasons, and one of the two where he was not a replacement Pro Bowler. They had a 9-7 record, then barely made the playoffs and went on an unbelievable run. Sure, his defense said he carried them, and Justin Tuck had his biased opinion, but what was the reality? The Atlanta Falcons should have ended them in the Wildcard, but didn't score a single offensive point. Did Eli do that? And sure, he played well in the playoffs, but was it all him? No offense scored more than 20 points on the Giants in the Playoffs. That's pretty good defense. Eli was good, but he wasn't spectacular, and he didn't have to be. Even if you say that it was all Eli, and if I was to give you that, he still demonstrates mediocrity over a very long career. Most years he's barely a Top 10 quarterback in the league, if top 10 at all. In his best years, he still doesn't crack the Top 5. Check the stats. Eli won 2 Superbowls, and the Giants fans drool. I get that. And in my mind, he's a big enigma. Really high career stats over a long career in a QB-stat-heavy era, but aside from 2 unbelievable Super Bowl wins, there's not much substance. Plus, if this season tells you anything, Eli looks like he's done, even with a great wide receiver in Beckham and running back in Barkley on his side. Most of the rest of the league would be killing it with that one-two punch, but Eli just limped along. Eli's contemporaries (Rivers, Rothlisberger, Brady, Brees, Ryan, Rogers) still look like they are ready to play a few more seasons at a very high level. Eli's pretty much made his case for Canton. And he better retire and get in quickly, as his numbers are not likely going to stand the test of time.
All Eli haters say the same exact thing it's amazing. Mediocre player that got carried by two great defenses. Ok that's your idiotic opinion now I'll give u FACTS. Mediocre qbs don't go in the top 7 on the all time list in passing yards, completions n tds with not ONE hall of fame player on his offense his entire career. Mediocre qbs don't have over 200 consecutive starts. A 17th n 28th overall defense is not great no matter how much u want them to be. Your opinion says they're great but the facts say otherwise. Eli set an all time single season playoff run in passing yards 2012. Yet you say his great 28th ranked defense carried him. 2 sb mvps regardless of your hatred for Eli he's getting in th HOF whether u like it or not. Stop crying n accept it. As for rivers being better than Eli? Yea he's a better regular season qb but folds in games that actually define a qbs greatness. Eli is defenitely a better big game qb
ftank frega calleja and it is amazing how Eli Fanboys come out and vehemently defend him and his mediocrity. We can trade stats all day, and I certainly provided facts. You did too. Bottom line is, I already said I thought he’d probably make it, but he better get in early. Because when it comes to the Hall of Fame, numbers are a piece of the puzzle, but the big comparison will be against his contemporaries. Look at him Year by year, and practically every year there are 5-10 better quarterbacks than him. And overall, he’ll be competing with Brady, brother Peyton, Brees, Rodgers, Rothleisberger, Rivers, Ryan and Newton. Easily four of them are getting in ahead of Eli. Plus you have players like McNabb who won’t make it but outplayed Eli most years. And then you have young players like Mahommes, Goff, Wentz, Watson, and a couple of others who could surpass any/all of Eli’s accomplishments in the next decade. Eli’s numbers look good over a long career where he hardly ever missed a start, but year to year he’s rarely cracking the Top 5 - hence only 4 Pro Bowls, two of the aa a replacement player. Yeah, he’ll likely make it, it again, wait a decade and see where he stacks up. Plus, as good as you say he was with no hall-farmers on his team, what is his excuse this year now that he has both Beckham and Barkley? Is he ready to throw in the towel? Is it time for the Giants to can this mediocre QB and move on? I think so, but we’ll see.
U got an obsession with discrediting Elis accomplishments, I'm guessing your a pats or boys fan that would explain your bitterness. Either that or u lost a ton of money betting against Eli in the postseason. Got to be 1 of those reasons why else would u go through so much effort to prove Eli is not a great qb?
Did we overlook Russell Wilson? Or Matt Ryan? Both have a good shot if they remain healthy, their teams remain competitive, and if Ryan can get a ring.
Russel Wilson might make the HOF he has already won a Super Bowl and he is still pretty young he is also carrying this Seahawks team with a mediocre defense, 3 Mediocre running backs, and a mediocre Wide receiving core
of course he will easily, and their defense is #10 this season, thats not mediocre ...they allow 0.4 PPG more than Minn. and 0.2 PPG more than NO...Mediocre would be like the Rams or Steelers defense. #10 with almost all young players if really solid when you compare to the Rams with an entire team of defensive stars which ranks #17
Well if u compare there receivers to other cores yes Pats,Steelers,Browns,Bengals,Texans, Colts,Chiefs,Chargers,Packers,Vikings,Giants,Cowboys,Saints,Buccaneers, Falcons,Maybe Rams all have better cores than Seattle and 10 in defense is kinda middle of the road
@@allstar3002 Agreed, mind you Flacco more than Smith will be the ones that get nominated to the group of (whatever the number) that never gets picked into the final 5.
@Dean D'Agostini Aaron Rodgers won a super bowl too and 3yrs before Flacco did but super bowl doesn't make u a better player I cant believe u just said that 🤦🏾♂️
Kamikaze Wraith he’s been to the playoffs 7/8 years. 2 super bowl appearances (back to back) and a super bowl win. Not to mention all the records he’s broken and breaking.
carter samuelson bet u 200 dollars your a bengals fan. He will his escapability is amazing, he won super bowl 48 because of him and the Seahawks Defense. Even know he hasn’t made a super bowl in 5 years he will be a Hall of Famer....no doubt Don’t be a idiot cuz he will I bet you 100k dollars he will.
Dawson Lynch right but that doesn’t make you Hall Of Fame worthy. Let’s be honest currently we only have 3 QB that 1st ballot Brady Brees Rodgers The other 3 that even I’m iffy about but might make it is Big Ben, Eli and Rivers Russel Wilson has a chance but to me the Hall of Fame is about re defining the position. Russel hasn’t been the top 3 QB since he’s been in the league maybe now but still not 1. But he’ll make it probably
Thank you! I love the Saints! I’m always rooting for them as long as they don’t play the Hawks lol if we don’t make it to the super bowl I 100% want you guys to! Saints! ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
As a patriots fan I agree russel Wilson deserves to be on this list I disliked cus Russel Wilson wasn’t here like it makes no sense not to have him he is a awesome qb if he doesn’t make the hall of fame then idk what the nfl is thinking if he does then I will see why
He’s not old enough yet. He said he’s not mentioning the young guys. I know Russell isn’t overly young but he’s still in the prime of his career. Also there were only 5 spots on this video and all the qbs mentioned on here on going to the HOF definitely deserve it and are in the twilight of their careers. Eli retired. Brady and brees May have 1 season left in them. Despite what ppl say, mark my words Rodgers will retire before 40. The injuries he’s sustained in his career with catch up to his age-especially the concussions and he’s already at peace with his career he said so he’s not chasing a championship into his 40s like brady or Brees. He’ll retire when he’s ready to leave. Roethlisberger also has been very beat up over his career and I can’t imagine him lasting much longer
@@napingenious6197 hes been in the league for 7 years his numbers are not good enough yet he is 100% top 5 but I would think it's the only reason he isn't on it would be because all of these people are at the rear end
@@patrickorourke41 Yea imo he's easily been the 4th or 5th best QB throughout the majority of his career, behind Rodgers, Brady, Brees, and Manning. Rivers is a baller, he's probably the most underrated QB of all time.
Feels bad for Alex Smith, he was my favorite QB from the Chiefs until Mahomes came. When I was told about Smith's injury I felt sorrow for him and his career. I hope he becomes a good QB in the future when he's healed all the way.
@@charlesbuckley5615 4 pro bowls, 1 ring, passer rating leader one year and led in touch downs another year. Of veteran QBs I'd but Wilson above eli anyday
Sosa Wayne 01 He’s right with Big Ben and Manning in yards and ahead of them in TDs, and he isn’t slowing down. Could well play himself into the top five in both. Even without a super bowl he absolutely will be in he hall of fame. People need to stop having such boners for Super Bowls.
My list WILL 1.- Nathan Peterman 2.- Johhny manziel 3.- Colin Kaepernick 4.- Jacoby Brissett 5.- A.J McCarron Will not 5.- Tom Brady 4.- Phillip Rivers 3.- Eli Manning 2.- Ben Roelthisberger 1.- My knee It's a joke
Without a doubt with his 15 MVP awards, most passes without an interception, 7 super bowl wins, undefeated streak with 1,000,000 wins in a row, best passer rating, and his great ability to run and throw a ball makes him not only a caliber quarterback everyone needs he is the G.O.A.T and not to brag a FOUR time heisman trophy winner and FOUR college football national championships
@@demetriusjohnson2339 no its not lol...has a SB, 2nd all time QB rating ever, most TDs in first 5 season, 2nd most wins in first 7 seasons, playoffs 6 of 7 years, 3rd most playoff wins among active QBs, 5x pro bowl ...those are just the numbers off the top of my head...there are tons of QBs in the HOF with way way way less. He is already borderline if he retired today...if he plays another 5 years which he easily will, he will be a LOCK. Compare his numbers to ANYONES first 7 years and hes on par with the all time greats.
Yeah I agree. Tom Brady? This would have been more interesting if the obvious inclusions where just mentioned at the beginning. If you include Brady, then you have to not include veterans that are not "as veteran" as some of the players on the list, like Russell Wilson who may or may not have already done enough. That would make for interesting debate. No one debates Brady or Brees.
I love how its almost a prerequisite to be a hall of fame qb to have a Super Bowl yet Fran Tarkenton, Jim Kelly, and Dan Marino are hall of famers w/o a Super Bowl so ... you know
I love Stafford so much. He is really one of the best in the league and even though im a lions fan i do want him to go to a better team to really shine.
russ has some of the most impressive stats as a qb on a good but not great team he has the arm and the legs to confuse defenses I mean the dude is an Allstar qb and deserves to be acknowledged
I think it's still early on Russell Wilson to definitively say that he will. I think he's leaning that way, but a few more years under his belt would help. The problem is that after the Super Bowl 49, his already limited offensive weapons just got worse and worse, and his offensive line was basically a few posters and a caution wet floor sign. I want to see what Russ can do with some decent protection.
I’m interested in guys like Phillip Rivers and Matt Ryan. They are from that same generation as most QBs listed. Should have limited to QBs drafted before 2010.
I know Phillip Rivers never won or even went to a Superbowl, but he went from a Super Brat to an incredible QB. I was so sad to hear he retired this year. I was still rooting for him to make it to the playoffs in 2020. Stellar QB.
Current QBs who will go to the Hall Of Fame Patrick Mahomes DeShaun Watson Lamar Jackson Russell Wilson Ones who won't Mitch Trubisky Jimmy Garoppolo Jared Goff Dak Prescott
not only the superbowl choke but all the playoff chokes as well. look at his playoff record 4-6 no superbowls. flacco 10-5, 7 of which have come on the road (NFL record) 1 super bowl win + mvp yes I'm a ravens fan but what ever I'd say flacco's record in the playoffs is superior. I could care less If the guy is normal in the regular season if he can win in the playoffs. none of those regular season records mean shit if u choke in the playoffs every year!!!
I mean, yeah he has good stats but he takes them to the playoffs and loses and takes them to a super bowl and loses so like the guy said, he’ll be one of those good players to never or just miss the hall of fame.
