As a long time Washington suffering fan the high point of my following the NFL for 20 +years has been following how Dallas over pays long contracts and being in constant salary cap trouble.
This list is mostly for teams that are either improving a lot or will continue to improve, and although the lions should be able to sustain themselves, they are spending all of their cap and won’t really be able to make many moves to improve
@@Ivashanko no it’s not. Although it doesn’t affect this year as much, in the future their cap with the recent extensions will be hit massively and they will basically have nothing left to spend, and it’s not like they can free any of that cap because they overloaded on their top guys who they’re obviously not getting rid of.
They forgot to mention RT Zack Tom, who is arguably their best Offensive player. The guy is an absolute STUD! He can play any position on that Offensive Line
Gotta think with the way they completely revamped the offensive line in the last two drafts that the Steelers are clearly a team on the rise. Omar Khan, in two drafts and one off season, has completely retooled that offensive room while somehow managing to improve our stout defense while simultaneously weakening the Ravens.
Yeah, I saw some kid's "Top 10 QB List" the other day and it had Caleb Williams as #7 and Brock Purdy wasn't even on the list! When challenged, he said Purdy was a "system QB". I pointed out that Purdy was either lead the league or was in the top 5 in basically every statistical category you can name for a QB, won the NFC Championship and literally went to the Super Bowl while Caleb Williams hasn't even taken a snap. Yeah, he will _probably_ be decent - but, people also believed Ryan Leaf and Demarcus Russell were "can't miss" prospects too.
@@fenix6297 Williams probably won’t even be all that. Have you seen how he played when defenses weren’t paper-thin? Even the weakest NFL defenses are better than anything he’s won a game against
@@raffiivker8584 I don't really watch college ball, so I haven't seen anything of Caleb except the highlight reels you see about the draft....so, ugh ..sucks for the Bears I guess ...
Which one? Caleb? He's 100% a product of the media. Without intending anything by it, someone made a video showing the college highlights of Caleb & another QB who never got any of the hype Caleb did. If you watch for passes unnecessarily thrown too high or inaccurately that do or at least should put the receivers in danger, the other QB throws 2 such. Caleb throws at least 10 with some of them leaving you wonder how they weren't INTs. The other QB has all the same skills, ability to fling the ball down the field 50+ air yards, is even a better rusher. You can only really tell by viewing them ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5JO1PsupF_U.html side to side like in that video. Figured out who the other QB is yet?
Don’t overlook the Seahawks, if Mike Macdonald works out and they hit on yet another draft, they’re set up very nicely for a plethora of competitive years
@@samuelault4723we don’t need Penix. The Falcons took him anyways. Sam Howell was in a terrible situation in the nations capital. The Seahawks have weapons, the commanders didn’t.
I been screaming this for months I just wished they drafted a better oline,, but Howell can play and they drafted well again,, could of took a shot on trice from Washington too,, DK is a beast and they got one of the best run games in league if healthy
@@samuelault4723Geno is a decent starting QB and Sam Howell has shown potential, he was in a bad situation in Washington. The Seahawks have a great core at WR, a decent one-two punch at RB, just need the O-Line to gel quickly this year. The past few draft classes have set them up well for the future, also with Mike McDonald a coach that adjusts to how the game is going, they could have some real success in the near future.
@@samuelault4723 There were only about 3 qbs this year with 1st round talent grades but all those qbs went high out of sheer desperation. Howell about as good as the next tier that went off the board after top 3
Here's a few more I would include for how each team's future is looking: Dark: New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, and Tennessee Titans Bright: Detroit Lions, Baltimore Ravens, and Washington Commanders
Idk I feel like if Singleton keeps steadily improving, he can be really good once he gets his credit. Same with Caden Sterns when he's healthy again. I think our defense is going to be pretty underrated imo
Big exaggeration on the 75%. Kid from Oregon ain’t gonna be better than what you had last year. I watched everyone of his games, he played good against inferior teams . Played like crap when it counted. Nice kid- not an NFL starting QB. Sorry.
@@-.Outlaw.- the 49ers have already planned for paying Purdy, BA, CMC, and Jennings. They are going to have around 40m in Cap space next season and are getting 18m in June. Purdy's deal also won't affect the Cap until 26, so they have no reason to be worried.
I like how every media outlet is praised the bears saying future is so bright. The Chicago is where QBs go to die and fail. They will be worst team in there own division. Ridiculous saying to rookies they drafted top 10 means there gonna be playoff contenders. WAKE UP!
Bears being bright is a stretch. They have no dead weight. But still don’t know about their rookie Qb. If he doesn’t look good. Then bright is inaccurate.
Their QB doesn't mental toughness needed. He's as mentally strong as wet toilet paper. Is his mommie gonna be on the sideline or in a suite? He's gonna need her lap to cry on. It's the NFL, not the Pac-12. It's going to be a fun year.
Even with a trash qb last year the Bears won 7 games and almost beat the Lions a second time. That offense is stacked and they will have a winning record even if the backup ends up playing. You are just showing you are a casual fan that has no idea what they are talking about.
As a Texans fan I agree. We got a small sample of Richardson QB play. Main thing will be if he can regain that form we saw before injury. Just like we still need to see if CJ really is the real deal.
As a packers fan I agree. I think we (packers) had alot of talent and it showed towards the end and we had a great draft. The lions were north champs last year and we'll deserved, they are a good squad and should be feared. If Caleb performs well the bears COULD be legit contenders for the north and the vikings I don't really follow all that much but, they did pick up Aaron Jones from us, sad to see him go, and he still has some good football left to play.
I hate saying this because it involves my personal favorite team, but I fear the Miami Dolphins face a dark future ahead. They have a lot of cap locked up a select few players, leaving little to no wiggle room for the rest of the team, limited draft capital and the last two seasons have shown the team start off strong, tumble towards the end of the regular season and then get eliminated in the Wild Card round. If the same thing happens to Miami this season, I could see them be forced to do a 'Scorched Earth' rebuild and start over from scratch, new coach, new GM, new QB, new everything. The problem is, I don't know what kind of compensation they'd get in draft capital since some of the key players that are taking up a lot of their cap are 30 or over.
Broncos had a top 10 O- line last year and have been quietly getting good football players who stay on the field and getting rid of a few big contracts with low production and high drama!
Tampa does have a bright future, if we could win with someone considered a bust, then we should be super bowl contenders with an elite qb, mike evans is still doing good and our offense has a bright future
We’ll see. As someone who cheers for the Falcons, I do admit where credit is due. Y’all did better than we expected you to last year and actually improved from 2022.
@@pacowaco2765 Yes, even without Aaron Donald they have upgraded at pretty much every part of their defense this offseason and it will be better than it was last year, even without the best defensive player of all time.
I don’t know about 12-5. Their division has to face the NFC North, and even without their rivals inside the AFC South, the Texans must also deal with Buffalo, Baltimore, and Kansas City. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t repeat as division champs this year given this was already something the Titans and Jaguars couldn’t do in that division these past few years.
With more or less the same OL as last season, I'd say dark future, and I'm a diehard Formerly Known As fan. Why we didn't keep Howell and draft Joe Alt at #2, is beyond me. 65 sacks allowed last season. Enjoy running for your life Jayden Daniels.
Only problem with the Ravens is they may have salary cap issues in a couple years, especially when it's time for Kyle Hamilton and Tyler Linderbaum to get paid.
I keep waiting for a team to tackle their salary cap problem by drafting a good rookie QB, getting the best they can out of him for five economical contract years and then either trading him or letting him walk. They'll repeat the process by drafting a capable rookie QB, maybe trading up like KC did to get Mahomes. They'll avoid paying outrageous amount for a QB and can use that saved money on the OL, receivers, and a defense to put the ball back in the hands of their developing QB. I tend to think some team will spend a decade trying this out ... and maybe set a trend.
You do realize that the colts might end up being the AFC South champ next year or even the jegs can but I think Tennessee titans are not even in title contest so it going to be hard for all 3 of them to have health temes to go to the super bowl
Given this video had 5 choices for each, I could see the Panthers missing out on Top 5 for dark futures. Even beyond what was actually chosen, the Patriots still have a darker future than the Panthers. This is because at least the Panthers can only go up from their performance from last year, and given the Bucs and Saints having dark futures themselves apparently, they may not need to wait long to get something decent going.
Idc what anyone says. You give Fields the team Caleb has and he could have succeeded. They could have traded that #1 pick for even more pieces and been even more dangerous. Hope Williams works out for the fans sake.
As a Bears’ fan, no Fields wouldn’t have. His issue wasn’t what was around him. It was his vision. Guys would be open and he wouldn’t see them. Add onto that his inability to avoid debilitating turnovers and sacks and he just flat out wasn’t good enough. Moss and Rice with Gronk at TE couldn’t have made Fields successful with his deficiencies.
If you trade down and Fields doesn't improve, you're completely screwed and the whole front office loses their jobs. The QB position is everything in this league. Fields had stuff to work with and he just didn't deliver. Period.
People hate on what the Broncos are doing, when its what they've needed to do for like 8 years. We're not going all in on a questionable QB this year, were taking the time to rebuild the roster and get younger, which will help in the long term. We may not be great immediately, but it'll pay off in the long run.
Come on! The 2024 draft was identical to the John Elway / Joe Ellis front office drafts of the past. Splash at QB. Check. Draft an undersized 4-3 edge rusher in this 3-4 defense. Check. Draft an overrated wideout. Check. Give up another draft pick for yet other defensive castoff from a 4-3 system. Check. Draft a NOT needed depth piece by drafting a RB. Check. Draft a prevent CB / safety. Check. Finally address an actual need (at center) with one of the lowest rated players in that draft class in the 7th round. Check. What rebuild??? Try Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
Chicago Bears future is bright cause now that you have a brand new franchise QB in Caleb Williams 1st Round 1st overall pick and Rome Odunze 1st Round 9th overall pick you really have no complaints no excuse and no regrets either but the fact of the matter is that this team is ready to take it to the next level Super Bowl's is the #1 priority 1:28
Are you ready for some football? A Monday night Party! You got to *Love* the Pack. In order to get things started. The crowd is ready! The mood is right, all my rowdy friends are here on Monday night! Hank Williams Jr. Go Pack Go! Woo hoo
KC, obviously. They have #15 wrapped up until 2031. And while it's always media click-bait about Reid's "retirement" (he just signed a 3-year extension), GM Brett Veach's draft and FA success and Mahomes' legendary talent give KC a bright long-term future.
Since the Browns mostly drafted depth, could they be any good for filling in shoes with people like Nick Chubb? If not, I feel like all they have to do is get a good draft in or two
It looks like some people already have Caleb Williams in the hall of fame. All you really have to do is look at the carnage of first-round QBs to see how many first round picks actually work out: Bryce Young Kenny Pickett Zach Wilson Trey Lance Justin Fields Daniel Jones Mac Jones Mitch Trubisky Sam Darnold Josh Rosen Carson Wentz The bust rate seems to be about 50%.
I can make a case that the Commanders will shine brighter like no other because like the Bears Washington has a brand new franchise QB Jayden Daniels 1st Round 2nd overall pick LSU a brand new coach brand new OC and of course a brand new faces too Offensively & Defensively but I can assure you that they are gonna prove them wrong as to why they want to compete for a shot one shot at being Super Bowl Champions you'll see only time will tell
You all Washington haters. They should be on the bright future list. New ownership, new GM, new coaching, one of the best FA and draft in the off-season, and new culture finally. Daniels will be better than Williams and studs were added on both sides of the ball. This team is better than Dallas and Giants and will compete with Philly. Williams is looking for nail salons while Daniels studies, studies, studies. You don’t think they’re better than Houston, Chargers, GB, Philly, or Pitt? Maybe only Houston is brighter.
I think Washington also has a bright future seeing as we got rid of our inept owner and we have a great GM in Adam Peters who has turned struggling franchises around.
paying 250 mill for the face of franchise that had to settle over 20 sexual abuse cases and is always injured ...real classy...they will keep being garbage
New Orleans Saints is not the same Saints of a team since winning a Super Bowl Title since 2009 not to mention a huge no PI call in 2018 NFC Title Game they've completely lost their edge and there pride themselves on rebuild to be winners 7:40
I hope Jerry DOESN’T pay Dak or Micah. He can’t trade Dak but he can trade Micah. And he’s worth more than Dak is, anyway. Should be able to get two 1sts, a 2nd, a 3rd, and a 4th.
OK, first off, the Raiders have no bright future. As long as Mark Davis is their GM, they are not going anywhere. Second off, I like what Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are building in New York. If Brian Daboll can get his own quarterback in the 2025 draft, I’m leaning more towards the Giants having a BRIGHT future.
Saying Browns' future is Dark is like saying the sky is blue. So the Bucs beat Eagles last year in playoffs, both teams had arguably solid off-season free agency/draft periods, yet for some reason Bucs future is Dark while Eagles future is Bright? GTFOH
@davidlundquist1979 O’Connel is unproven but he’s got a ton of potential, he was thrown into a terrible situation last season and performed as well as anyone could have expected him to. Their O has tons of weapons and their D is going to be top tier this season. And the last time they made playoffs was 21-22.
I think the Saints are bulit to win a Super Bowl Bt not with Carr at QB and I’m sayin this as a Saints fan bt if I’m right which I think I am we got a new OC who’s I’m pretty sure gonna put guys in better positions to make plays and I’m also not a fan of Allen at head coach I’ve said this for the longest he’s a damn good DC bt he’s not Head Coaching material hopefully we make the right decision and fire him at the end of the season and we’ve only gotta deal with Carr for 1 more season so I think we’ll be fine
They gone find out but I bet money carr ball out this year 💯 last 6 games of the year he was top in the league in multiple categories as he got more comfortable.
This should be retitled to which teams have the poorest outlook for 2024! Some of the dark teams are actually set up to compete after 2024! And this video must've been made by a Philadelphia fan because I have serious questions about this team after last year's epic collapse!
I agree with the Lions having a bright future… but Giants dark future, my ass, and here’s why… I like what Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll are building, they have some of the most underrated players in football at their respective positions. They may be bad NOW, but if Brian Daboll is allowed to get his own quarterback, they could be significantly better not too far from now.
@LiamDeege Which I fully expect them to do as soon as the new league year starts in 2025. I’m looking at Georgia quarterback, Carson Beck as the Giants’ next potential franchise quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys won’t win another Super Bowl until Jerry Jones is out of the Picture. He is an Egotistical Narcissist. I love the team but Jerry ruined it all!!!
Steelers didn't make the list. That's both good and bad. A team doesn't have a dark future ahead of it but it doesn't have a bright future ahead of it.
