God how I wish they'd make a collection of the 3 games and port them on pc, I remember seeing my dad playing 1 and 2 (even though I finished 2 since I remember killing Daedalus and doing the Force push escape part) and then me beating 3 later on. And if it had the online co-op it would be awesome since I have a friend who also loved this series
I don’t know if this counts as creepy. The President of the United wanted to make a deal with Daedalus that if the Chimera left the United States alone, the United States would not try to stop the Chimera from taking over the world. Hale kills the United States President and stops his plan. This should’ve been a story in one of the games. Instead of a book.
I actually heard about that part and TBH i wouldn't blame anyone for trying to negotiate with them. In just several weeks Europe was Essentially Wiped Out and Now Anyone who's still left are now realizing how bad is it and they can't do much except pray to God or deity they believe in to protect them
@@EzoPlay and it was All worth for nothing because they started Developing Battleships and Were able to overcome their Inability to survive in Higher Temperatures
I mean for 10yo me apart from like the first 4 AC games this was like top ending for anything I’d ever witnessed, was so sick I used to draw this scene with speech bubbles 😂
I think one addition thing worth mentioning is the various amounts of times human factions intentionally infected individuals to get closer to the chimera. We see it with the Sentinels and Hale where it's regulated with injections, the cloven which is by far the creepiest one but the one that stands out the most to me is from Resistance Retribution where one character intentionally infected themself to further research. I love this series so much because it had a lot of things going for it and in this age of open world games, I would love to explore a mostly abandoned city and countryside somewhere where the chimera are not just a physical threat, but an environmental one. Resistance 3 gave me such a desire to go and observe how the "victorious" chimera handled the slow and methodical task of patrolling for humans. Resistance 3 also gave me the impression they weren't overly worried about it as they seemed to just kill humans as they found them with no desire to take prisoners and make more foot soldiers.
The last franchise I was heavily invested in. At least it ended on a high note, and if it were to ever come back then a prequel in Russia would be great. Or even in Germany with the fabled "Leben Geist" mutation.
I know I mention the books a lot with my comments, but they're just so good. The first book has some creepy moments in it. Like how the Chimera would capture humans, force them to dig for something, then after a few days, they would take some people to never be seen again. They get turned into Chimera, but none of the other prisoners know what exactly happens.
For real. What were they afraid of.... I once took some notes of ideas for a possible resistance 4 and what I'd like to see in the game. Like the pure chimera, the reason why they left earth, their home planet ....
It feels like they fought humans, the humans left a colony and the earthbound humans had some sort of catastrophy that had them forget where they came from It ties into why the chimera hate humans so much, and explains how humanity even exists on earth to begin with Also explains why the chimera knew about the humans, and how to transform them
One of the most well-written franchises I've ever played. I can't help myself reading its universal plots and intels. - Grace's betrayal against humanity event. - Daedalus' love for his former wife Hannah Sheperd. - The fall of operation Deliverance (mostly by Cloven). - Australia civil war in 1953 -1957. - SRPA activities of observation and tracking Hale's regen ability during Fall Of Man events.
You forgot to mention how the entire British Royal Navy was entirely wiped out by freak waves and washed up on the shores of France after the fall of mainland Europe to the Chimera. Or how the US set up a colony in Hawaii after the Chinera began their invasion of the Americas but all 150,000 of them disappeared. Still, this video was fun to watch.
The Chimera maybe a bit slower in their beginning staging rate of spreading it's infestation unlike the Zerg or Tyranids and have less resources to pull from to the same capacity and speed as they have but they do have proficient skills they excel at such as optimizing surrounding resources and infrastructure and utilizing them for better combat efficiency and capable of actual modern military tactics even while being a planet bound infestation with limited knowledge processing and overmind presence facing restrictions of it's own which it cannot overcome such as when the relay tower going down and it's connection weakened in it's current state. While the Tyranids, the Flood, and perhaps maybe the Zerg will like always be above them at the beginning stage the Earth restricted Chimera of Resistance infestation has shown they are a very long lasting and resourceful force capable of using both technology and creating a industrial infrastructure to supply it's armies and create ships like the Flood from Halo would do. Utilizing and maintaining both quality and quantity strageic thinkings. And probably if they were able to develop into a more powerful stage. Who knows how powerful and how developed the Chimera on their homeworld could be. Whatever is possible for the capabilities they can access at their full potential. If they had to fight the Locusts, Skynet, and the Helghast they would probably most likely win if they were able adapt to them enough to counteract and develop their industrial output for long enough. Their warforms which they can create can properly survive harsh worlds like Sera and Lost Planet which has ridiculous large monsters everywhere. Even the Gravemind would perceptively recognize the type of potential and capabilities the Chimera could have unlocked if they would able to mature and adapt themselves in a phasing process of building themselves up to create a advance enough power base. They would definitely wipe out and crush a large planetary Genestealer cult in a conflict and then detect the Tyranid genes and remodilfy the whole genetic structure and properties so astray from the Tyranid hivemind it will be under the Chimera's full adaptive control. Creating new strains and providing new strengths for it's soldiers like tougher armor, bones, and organs that can keep fighting. Xenomorphs even on their homeworld would not stand a chance against a technologically adaptive infestation like this. The Covenant, Tau, and Protoss would be wisely right to be wary of them growing to their maximum possible abilities. The Chimera's flexibility mid battle is quite impressive indeed and very intelligent to build up forces and maintain the effort with strategy, tactics, industry, manufacturing weapons, logistics, and ultimately technological development in their mind of considerations. The Chimera seem to like prioritizing and investing alot into making significant powerful equipment and machines for it's land armies to use and optimize as both a horde and a tactical army able to work like real squads to claim victory and press on assault while making sure to keep up in developing strageic advantages over their opponents. I'll give the Chimera massive credit for those feats. They truly are a very resourceful technologically advance Scourge. For them to develop their land armies to have more powerful equipment and good defenses then a Imperial Guard regiment and having implemented across all it's soldier strains and large creatures it shows the Chimera do prefer a quality army over a naked charging swarm like the Zerg and Tyranids do at first and only change afterwards. I would say for this kind of situation the Chimera are perhaps smarter then the Tyranids and Zerg overmind are when it comes to preparing it's ground armies and while building up it's industrial complexes in the rear of it's territories buliding new ships, machines, and monsters. It's almost like a parasite overmind player in a Stellaris campaign would do. It understands the importance of both the local, wider, and indepths concepts of war and makes sure to optimize on them. Manning a fielded army with quality equipment and capable technologies is quite intelligent and cunning. From large warmachines to even organized groups of interplanetary ships meant to be mobile and besiege entire nations. The Chimera at their full power can properly do alot more and probably alot more organized and efficient in what they can develop. Terraforming worlds in a relatively short amount of time is already something which they can casually do so that is something to consider as a mere fraction of things of what the true Chimera are likely capable of. Something which the Gravemind would amusingly congratulate for a lesser infestation Scourge to be able to accomplish and consistently maintain. Perhaps the Chimera could be a rival or even more powerful then the Zerg in this height of their power.
That’s definitely interesting. I really like the idea of the Cloven being a different faction from both normal humans and Chimera. There’s definitely a lot of room for storytelling in this setting. Too bad Sony cancelled Resistance 4 because they thought the post-apocalyptic setting was too similar to Last of Us and that robot game with the tribal people (forgot the name. There’s this funny picture where it’s a side by side of the main character’s sequel appearance and Nikocado Avocado. She looks just like him😂). If they were to remake the trilogy with tweaks in gameplay and lore like the Dead Space 1 remake it would bring in a lot of people. Same goes for Killzone. Still waiting on your video about the various forms introduced in the third game (unless you already mentioned them in the second video). It’s interesting how in terms of gameplay it’s VERY similar to Half Life 2. Not saying that’s a bad thing, in fact I really liked HL2 (the first has much better weapon/enemy variety though. The Beta would’ve been a much better sequel than what we got). I just think it’s interesting. Good luck on the others.
I'm glad you included Retribution as well!! It's the only game that made me want my Mommy.. The intel documents of that game were the best, instead of giving answers they only added more mystery. Retribution was developed by Bend Studios and I think they nailed it! It only saddens me that it was released for the PSP which in my opinion is an inferior console if compared to the PS3. All those previous events are stunning and they really make us wish for a prequel trilogy of sorts. Speaking of Bend Studios they pitched a Resistance reboot to sony, but sony said no. I think that a sequel to Grayson's story would have been perfect. James fighting both Chimera and Cloven in Eastern Europe... dream come true
I don't know If IT just my opinion but Resistance can even surpass Halo and COD these days when i was Little i was desperate to buy a PS3 to play the franchise
I'm with you but unfortunately Sony sucks, if it's not an over the shoulder walking sim or some live-service slop, they probably won't do it. At least the OG trilogy can be emulated on PC now.
Man I love resistance game series the fall of men was my very first PS3 game in my childhood I wished this first game and rest of series would be released in PlayStation store and PS4
There are 5 games. The 3 on the Ps3, and a PSP game called Resistance Retribution, and a PS Vita game called Resistance Burning Skies. And I believe theirs a book too.
Great series, I loved the alternate history sci-fi setting. A true shame the franchise is owned by Sony, a company that wants to make movies out of their games
