one of my favorite decks is actually toggo / silas renn, it's such a blast to play

I partnered him with Kodama for the obvious combo… it almost feels like a blue combo… Guileless Commons/Gruul Turf as my land which goes infinite with both commanders on the field. Either land has “when this enters, return a land you control to it’s owner’s hand” so just return itself. It’ll trigger Toggo to create a 0 mana permanent, which triggers Kodama to let you put a 0 mana permanent onto the field, in other words: replay the bounce land. This makes infinite rocks for KCI and infinite landfall triggers for Seer’s Sundial for net 1 draw per cycle. After drawing my deck I make infinite rocks because I need to stop the Kodama loop. Then sac the rocks for colorless to play Chromatic Orrery, which lets me spend the infinite colorless for any color. Then I play all my creatures, some way to give them all haste, and specifically The Questing Beast (to not get fogged), plus any of these will trigger Kodama to let me redo the infinite landfall combo for something like Rampaging Baloths or Scute Swarm for actually infinite damage

@@anthonycannet1305 wouldn't it be way more straightforward to include something like staff and domination to untap Togo so you can use the rocks for infinite damage

@@Interrobang212 I'd still need KCI for that, and it basically comes down to either KCI + Staff or KCI + Sundial. With Staff of domination I'd be able to use the infinite mana for infinite ping with the rocks, assuming I have a creature out that isn't SS so it can throw the rocks, or with Seer's Sundial I can draw through my deck and with some way of using the colorless mana to pay for colored spells I can do whatever combos the deck has available depending on board state. Someone might have a way to prevent noncombat damage or have hexproof so throwing the rocks doesn't work there. Someone might have pillow fort effects, stopping me from being able to attack them so I'd need the rocks. I might not have SoD available, I might've played everything this turn without haste yet, etc. Turning the combo into infinite mana AND infinite draw means I can do anything the deck allows.

Don't play her for a few weeks, then bring it during a special occasion when people forget how good she is

I used her for wizard tribal until they printed Inalla. Getting a counter on a wizard and playing sac effects to recur it was just an extra two steps to get two etb triggers when inalla does it by herself.

It was either her or windgrace and I love me some lands matter jund catking.

Nvm... Once stolen they have dethrone. If they die under you control with counter, they come back under you control 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️

Broken cards in standard usually make for solid but not quite broken commander cards

@@NitpickingNerds Yeah, that makes sense. I can see that with like Fires of Invention, Emergent Ultimatum, Uro, Goldspan Dragon, Alrund’s Epiphany, Hydroid Krasis, Nissa Who Shakes the World, Agent of Treachery, The Great Henge, Growth Spiral, Lurrus, Escape to the Wilds (maybe good in commander, I’m not sure), and 4 color Omnath. Stuff like 3 mana Teferi, Narset, and Oko are broken in every format under the sun though

Winota is a pain in the pocket.

​@@TinyLegs15243Not really there is stuff that can get rid of +1/+1 and once her ability activates once she won't have a +1/+1 counter allowing her to be vulnerable to removal spells

@@kurushimi9976 I understand that, I have a Marchesa deck. But people don't run enough removal or interaction and if you don't then she is super annoying.

Our pod just shoots the bitch on site! A dude we play with had to cast her almost 4 times before he could get her started But turn 3 is impressive!

@@TeeLowest for squee, use cards like faithless looting, cathartic reunions and the like to draw and dredge with shenanigans. Squee is just an extension to that play. Slobad can storm off like how kci plays but more fun since protecting artifacts as a sub-theme is interesting. And also Slobad’s a good character.

@@NickTheDM But you can't put counters on opponents' creatures, so you'd already have the creatures.

You steal his stuff, attack with it to give it a country, sacrefice it, and it will return to your end of the battlefield on your end step. I love playing that deck

This is such a fun idea, I'm gonna steal it. Do you just capitalize when people don't block your morphs/unmorphed creatures or do you lean into it with evasion options?

@@lugh.i yeah that is a big part of it, you will be surprised how often people decide not to block them (granted you have mana up) not knowing if it's a 1/1 or a 9/9. The only caveat is you do have to show everyone what the unflipped morph creature if you decide to ninjitsu it, so keep that in mind. I also run some manifest cards for added unpredictability. You only have to control the creatures, it doesn’t check whether you own them or not, so an opponents creature dying under your control brings it back after the end step for you

He's a really good design

The idea is you steal with effects that are "until end of turn". From here, you put a +1/+1 counter on it (her dethrone or some other effect) . You then kill that creature with a sacrifice outlet. Marchesa triggers bringing it back to your board (due to +1/+1). But now that creature is "a different entity" so that until end of turn off the original steal spell is no longer valid and you keep the creature

@@NitpickingNerds Its very much a fun deck. I love playing it as usually the majority of your deck being cmc 5 or greater is a downside but with how its et up it actually is turned into a big upside

Its a Planeswalker... board wipes don't hit those. As far as I know there is no boardwipe that includes the planeswalker type.
