It's striking the difference in mental the teams had. The PC team had much more of an ego and accused of cheating, meanwhile the consoles were just vibing and having fun even when they were losing team fights, and they even owned up to any mistakes they made. Good stuff!

But my friend jumped from switch to ps5 and went from diamond 3 to top 100 in a month cuz he could actually play, the switch version was locked at 900p and 30fps, the ps5 version has 120hz support, so it was like that scene from fairly oddparents where timmy gave king arthur glasses "i can see, I CAN FIGHT"

As a pc player this hurts to see but also is an eye opener. On console its harder to just ego carry and take ego duels to win games (I think) so they focus more on coordination and team play rather than just taking five 1v1s. They had great comms and decision making. On the other hand the PC players seemed to have little to no comms or strategies and were just running around taking fights without thinking. PC players having more control with mnk inflates the ego and just assumes console players aren't as good as they actually are. It felt like the PC players didn't take the console players seriously or respected their skill.

I used to be console t5 and switched to pc and I would say carry potential is somewhat similar they prob coordinated a lot and tried rly hard to play together because of the aim advantage and quick kill potential of m&k. There were still people on Xbox who dominated top of lbs with insanely high winrates who played pocket like ynza although most of them ximed I’m pretty sure. SirJamesParker was #1 for a lot of overwatch 1 as an ego carrier somewhat and didn’t xim if I’m right idk hcpeful also a good example of this as his carry potential with controller was insane. I would q against his stack in ow1 and it was an instant loss because they all played around him specifically

Just goes to show how at high levels, good team play and decision making trumps mechanical skill expression every time. Although I will say when you don’t have to 180 or flick onto someone and just have the entire fight in your FOV, the console aim assist helps a lot.

Apex is a great example of this... just saying in this instance what won was that this team knows how to play together and looked and executed like they've been playing together for a while now. I wouldnt say skill per se, more like teamwork at its best, don't forget this people had legal cheats all the time enable, so mechanical skill doesnt really need to be discussed here as they are "assisted", that being said tho, the rest was indeed pure team coordination, it was awesome not gonna lie.

As a console player I can smile happily as you guys see how insane some of our opponents are. It isn't a joke. To the kings row 3rd point defense of PC though. They swapped to a heavy cc comp in hopes of winning which forced an orisa. It did work just not for long. I thought it was smart, hog, Cassidy, and Ana to slow the enemy down. Make sense.

22:30 aim assist doesn’t work like that on ow, the flicks were actually done by the player, what helps you on ow is reticle friction, basically it just slows down the reticle when you’re on target and it kinda follows the enemy a bit.

ive been saying this, Pc players chalk everything to aim assist, and in some games it is strong but not in ow. Id say only the hitscans are useful with aim assist but when you start using projectile and the other characters there is no use for it and puts players at a disadvantage. Personally i lower my aim assist with characters like widow and ana because It pulls to much and theres no need for aim assist on projectiles.

For anyone who doesn't know how aim assist works, it's just a window around enemy player models where if your reticle is inside that window, it reduces your sensitivity. It does not auto aim at anything. It simply changes the aiming sensitivity based on whether or not you're looking near an enemy. It also can appear to drag where you are aiming, but that is since the sensitivity change is relative to movement compared to your original sensitivity. As someone who plays on PC and Xbox, it's much easier on PC after you have mastered both methods of aiming.

When I played console and stopped playing for a sec, my crosshair literally followed the enemy players, so I doubt sensitivity is the only thing it changes. Sure, it only followed them once they were close to the crosshair, but it was still quite a lot, and made me hit a lot more shots.

I was a console player for years and since switching to PC a couple years back I’ve realized it’s better and easier in every single way for every character except wrecking ball. Ball feels way smoother and better on console honestly. It seems no matter how many hours I have on ball on the PC it’s so much more difficult to perform than on console.

What had me laughing was towards the end Meg kept getting mad they all they ran was tracer/sombra/ball when at first they ran a doom/ tracer. They switched up when they needed to on PS and PC could never adjust. For grand champs you would think they try to switch up the style to help better defend their dives or match them, which they did! With a tracer/sombra/Winston comp then they got rolled cuz their coordination wasn’t as good and PS better defended against it

As an ex console player most console players do have major egos but its only for other console players usually but since I've moved to pc about 3 years ago PC players have the craziest egos when it comes to versing console players. They think just cause they are console they're gonna automatically win, so they go in with this ego mentality and get shit on then blame aim assist or just something cause they just got ran through. Ofc pc players have an advantage but in the end its more of a mental game than aim and pc players just think they're superior at all times. I've seen it too many times.
