I was looking to see if anyone said this. In any of the games I play, if someone becomes overwhelmingly toxic or mentally booms the rest of the team, at least 80% of the time it's an Xbox player.

@@kevinkalani back when I played OW at a top 500 level (seasons 3-8 I think?) I learned that whoever tilts the hardest loses. So most of the time I ended up trying to be the calming voice on my team so we didn’t get at each others throats.

@CLNCJD94 yeah don't get me wrong, there are things that tilt me but usually at those times I mute my mic and leave it with just myself because at least the rest of the team won't be feeling that negative energy

People complain when they themselves cant beat a xim and just cry? like I know many top 500 and say for siege champ controller players that are controller and do fine. @@Yolqqqq I play tank and have always had a lower sense and slowly gone up but personally I use 100. Ik most gm dps controller players use 99. I don’t think there’s such thing as a ‘best’ aim smoothing since it’s all preference. But the most common is 99

I would say it was a whole team diff. Ball was being annoying as hell, support managed always to survive and sombra hit so many huge EMPs. And ofc tracer was there to capitalize and hitted insane pulse bombs

The only person in the lobby who was not GM1 was Headrammer. Everyone else is currently GM1 on the role they played.

If what you are thinking of is early season leader boards, then you can have low gm players peak top 500, however this is only the beginning of the season, and they fall out of it within a few weeks because the better players come and take their spot. This is inflated as far as diamonds peaking top 500 because they happened to play more at the beginning of the season, ( if you didn't know, it doesn't matter if your gm1 with 40 wins that season, 50 are required now to qualify for top500 ) meaning you will have diamonds, masters, and low gm play more than the rank 1 player of last season, but they'll be on the leaderboards instead of the rank 1. Also, I watched the stream from hcpefuls perspective, hearing the party chat was a wake up call because you'd often hear the headrunner say that it was his fault and he would take the blame knowing that he was outmatched by the enemy supports, not to say that he's bad in any way, just that he's not as good as them... he may be top 2% of players, but the other players are top 0.1%. It may not seem like much, but low gm playing with top of top500 is like diamond playing with low gm.

@@emma6648 that’s not the point. prior to the console merge xbox and ps were separate. when they merged, on average, ps player were a lot more shit than xbox players and the old ps players were getting hard flames and pushed out of top 500 because of a difference in skill level

Interesting and I bet it comes from the games and communities on the consoles. I don’t know if it’s still like this, but a lot of xbox players came from the trickshotting and clip seeking era imo. Lots of aggressive players who have good mechanics but are toxic and reach to far in games

Yeah I dabbled in a little of both communities before, personally I'd say PlayStation is more consistent, chill players that either consistently pop off or consistently feed the entire game. Xbox players tended to go for more risky engagements or tried swapping tactics mid match usually to their own demise and usually worse at blaming each other instead of self reflection.. I mean hell in OW1 it took a lil over 3 years to ever get a toxic DM from a teammate calling me trash. But on Xbox my first 3 games I got 5 toxic dms telling me I shouldn't play the game cause I was useless LMAO imagine raging at a literal level 2 border player in quick play.. but it was a cool experience to play on both servers before cross play was a thing, placed silver at first on PS4 (climbed and peaked 2700 for the next few years) then placed high plat on Xbox which inspired me to climb higher on PSN.. But yeah point is they are very different communities, and even in my experiences just way more chilled on PSN for better or worse, still have had less toxic players on my teams in the 6-7 years of PSN OW compared to the 2 months of Xbox OW.

Imo the enemy comp was one thing but the fact that the Xbox team did nothing to counter their comp was their biggest mistake. Why go tracer when the other tracer (akaza) is clearly better than you while also up against a sombra. And let’s say the other tracer isn’t better, that’s still going to be a drawn out 1v1 due to their abilities. And then ur gonna keep getting hacked; when I play against a sombra, I play somebody that can still perform despite not having abilities. And then u have the widow. In what world does it make sense to go widow against tracer, sombra, Lucio and ball/Winston? The Xbox dps got comfortable with their characters and didn’t want to switch despite getting outplayed.

Holding ult if the battle is looking even sometime isn’t bad but it’s a gamble. If your team loses the fight then you sold by not using ult. If you win the fight then you still have a ult to win the next fight and stagger hopefully

I’ve been playing this game on console (using a controller) since 2017, as well as watching a good amount of top 500 pc streamers, I think I know the difference between controller/M&K movement. The more important question is why the developers allow M&K on console, especially on comp. It’s a huge and clear advantage for them. Not really sure why people get defensive about this topic, it doesn’t seem like a controversial point. I’m sure most people agree that it’s unfair. I agree that some people can’t tell the difference between the two, but in higher ranks for console, it’s blatantly obvious. Either way, that’s my two cents about it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, it didn’t look like anyone was ximming any time that Jay watched them. It was smooth, but not flicky, similar to what high sensitivity on controller looks like, especially when you could see that the AA had snapped off, and they only could flick a bit to get their crosshair placement back.

I’m hoping that I’ll just get good enough with low Aim Assist but decent smoothing on controller to be better than them overall with better gamesense and teamwork adaptability. I will say though, in most of my recent games on DPS, I’ve been struggling to win even with better performance than all of my teammates, either similar to the enemy team that’s winning, or even better than them, but I still lose a lot (Going based on K/D and damage for that assessment, btw). Do I just need to play more with that level of consistency to climb, or is there something else I should try? I’m Plat 3 DPS, Diamond 2 Support, and Plat 1 tank (could easily get Diamond 5 again but I rarely play the role).

@@kommandantkillcode don't change your sensitivity too often you need to get muscle memory down. But yes consistently playing above average in your lobbies will help you improve, however in ranks up to low GM you are going to have to solo carry. The worst thing you can do in OW is die, try getting your deaths per 10 down. If you die less, even if you end up having to reset or back out on your own, you will do more total damage throughout the game and provide more pressure to the enemy team. Try to play things that synergize with the rest of your team, or help enable your other best player on the team.

@@TempestS0 My deaths per 10 minutes are probably only like 5-8 on most heroes. I don’t change my sensitivity often, just some micro adjustments for certain characters, and I toned down my aim assist globally so that I could be more precise on my own, and have less interference from the assist when trying to hit specific enemies or objects. I guess I should have hope that I’ll just climb from my play. The lowest I’ve fallen since OW2’s first seasons is Plat 3, so it’s probably my baseline for my skill.

Different players and different comps, you have no idea what the outcome will be. That's Overwatch. How many losing streaks have we all had in our career.

Top console players are a small group so everyone has a good idea of who xims and who doesnt (i.e you can tell by their movement or literally hearing their keyboard in voice chat). Like idk everyone here but for example hcpeful and zero are known on controller

@paulgeorge6223 it's obvious they are. Accurate Flicks like the ones basically everyone did aren't possible without m+k. Only The Moria had your obviously typical, smooth, constant, controller-esque movement. Rapid micro flicks, as shown by basically all the dps in this, are straight up not possible. Controllers don't Flick. Every aim adjustment should look fluid, and constant compared to every other one. That's just not the case for a lot of these players. The aim assistance is REALLY obvious, too. (Especially from sombra's pov)
