Portrait of a Lady is truly a game changer. I BLIND bought in in July and it's the most beautiful fragrance and so well blended. This is the fragrance that started my obsession with perfume. It affected me more than any fragrance I've ever used. This fragrance has changed the way I see fragrances and I have purchased probably 10 more since then, but I have yet to find one that has moved me like POAL. Some have come close, but not quite there.

mill101 No, you should ask her first what kind of fragances she is into or find out whether Chanel No. 5 is sexy or not for her. If it's not, then forget about POAL as it is very mysterious with its dark rose and incense and cinnamon.

Oh yes, it would be perfect for that. It's truly a masterpiece to me. Other fragrances I'm into are recently: Noir de Noir, Guerlain Santal and Amber Oud, Le Labo Noir 29 and By Killian Single Malt. I love Chanel No 5 as well - it's such a classic, but I don't love it like I love POAL. To me, it's the perfect fragrance thus far and there's something very special about it. I hope this helps you.

Ooooh! Just dropped a mint at Liberty at Frederick Malle! Among the perfumes I got, Frederick Malle's Lipstick Rose!! Not sure if you'd be a fan - it's uber girlie - but I absolutely love it. It's the gem in my collection! Sigh - shopping in London is second to none. Sad to be back home in Canada! LOL!

As a huge, huge, huge perfume lover myself I loved this video. Came across your channel two days ago and your vibe and style is just lovely. I'm always on the look out for new/different fragrances to capture the seasons and mood etc french lover sounds amazing will deffinity give that go X

POAL is my absolute favourite. It is my signature scent and beyond and above anything else I've ever owned. I agree Byredo doesn't go the distance but I do own and enjoy 1996 which isn't as ubiquitous as some of their perfumes. You look fabulous here Eva. Regards, Deb.

You look gorgeous Eva! I adore your haircut. I love Gypsy Water. It's what started my obsession with Byredo. Since then I've bought and I love Mojave Ghost and Bal D'Afrique. I also love Santal 33 but The Noir 29 just makes me gag. It is so astringent and sickly sweet on me. I sampled it several times and I keep trying to make myself love it, alas not for me. I will certainly reach for Bal D'Afrique this fall. My two newest purchases which I will wear very often in fall/winter are Eau Duelle by Diptyque and Clementine California by Atelier Cologne. Hypnotic Poison is a cold weather staple for me. I own nothing by Fredrick Malle...yet.

I love Room 1015 Atramental in the Fall. It's pretty much the only season I feel has the right balance between warm and cool to handle it. It's too heavy in the Spring/Summer unless it's a small, indoor concert venue at night. And the coldness of winter makes the fragrance entirely too cold.

Have you looked at Papillon fragrances. Dryad is a very interesting mossy forest-like fragrance. You can buy their range at Les Senteurs but their direct site sells samples including a sample set.

I always adore your perfume videos, Eva. They got me on a whole perfume appreciation journey. I was wondering if you ever smelled Eau de Protection by Etat Libre d'Orange? It is a spicy rose but more on the sweeter end. I wonder how it compares to Portrait of a Lady? I also really go into Miller Harris fragrances especially their acquatic/oceanic ones. I have Fleur de Sel and Eau Magnetic and love both. I am curious if their rereleased Figue Amere is any good? I wanna try it out but the closest boutique is at the airport >.

Eva, luv. We have very similar taste in fragrance houses :) Have you smelled anything by Francis Kurkdijian? I have samples of Grand Soir and Lumiere Noire; can't wait to try them on my skin! Oh! And I've been in love with By Kilian's Back to Black, what a brilliant composition of honey and tobacco, it makes me feel sexy and daring, and like a man that has been listening to jazz all night sipping on whiskey on the rocks! Is not your typical feminine scent, which that's why I think you'd like it for the fall and winter :) Big hug from Texas

Eva, are you going to try the new Chanel Gabrielle fragrance? It's not an exclusive so the scent is more "generic" (not really but I can't think of another way to explain it.) and may not be your taste. The only exclusive I like is Gardenia but I love a few of the department store Chanel fragrances. Gabrielle recently launched us the US and hubby got it for me for my birthday!

Im addicted to The Noir. I really wanted to love Gypsy Water but to me it smells identical to Dreams by Anna Sui which I wore religiously as a teenager. If I hadn't smelt Dreams I'm sure I would love it, but it just doesn't feel niche or exclusive to me. Do you have any Commes des Garçons recommendations? I bought my boyfriend Black but keep stealing it as it smells divine, but I don't know much about their other fragrances.

I don't live near stores that carry any of these but I want to try portrait of a lady and gypsy water someday. So since I have pretty much the common perfumes, I'm afraid my choice for fall isn't interesting or unique but it's jo Malone's wood sage and sea salt. When I was young, I loved Anais Anais by cacheral. If I were to smell that again, it would take me back immediately. I think I may have to check the stores for that:)
