Hope everyone is having a great Monday so far. I just wanted to remind you that the points I made in this video are only my OPINION! Everyone has a different style and that's great. These are just some things that I've learned throughout my journey :)
I have been trying to purchase your presets but when I click on the link it takes me to a weird site. Not sure if I need a password/keyword. Do you have any suggestions?
I bareley started doing photography seriously this past year when my son was born and hopefully I can soon take off and make a living doing what I love, I came across this channel the other day and it actually helped me push myself out of my depression, hopefully I can reach your level of photography. Thank you so much for making these videos they mean a lot to me and they help me out so much.
I just got into photography. I started with the Nikon Z6. i am still learning what setting I like, what each setting does and so on. I have to say you are the person Im really enjoying learning from. I love how you explain things using simple terms. Keep the videos coming.
Like watching your vids, Manny! Here are a few more.... I have seen other 'pros' taking pictures of Models and don't stop to let the Model have a look at what you are getting in camera. Let the Model see for herself and she will be even more enthusiastic and trusting your lead. Don't chimp after ever picture... set the camera and shoot a sequence at a time and then quickly review. Don't try and learn what all the buttons do on your new camera when shooting a Model.... practice at home before doing a shoot, know your camera! Don't blame everyone else if your pictures come out bad.... it is your shoot, be responsible. Don't edit or delete whilst doing a shoot unless it is a very expensive set and your crew has you tethered (but I guess we are not really talking about larger production). Don't leave extra cards and batteries at home, they don't do anything for you there :).
Great advice about interacting with your model and telling models pro or amateur to "have some fun". I think sometimes we get wrapped up with the technical and forget about the fun of photography! Cool, short fun video!
Thanks Manny, I'm a beginning photographer and everything you said in this video made perfect sense. I will be implementing all your advice. Thanks, once again. I'm a huge fan.
I totally understand about the saving the best location for second or third. I always do shoots with 1 warm up/get to know my model location first. Then when the vibe is right and I find my models good angles that's usually when I move on.
I’m so happy I found your channel! Im a photographer from Chicago and i felt like it was impossible to find a photographer from Chicago here on RU-vid! I’ve been binge watching your channel definitely subscribed. your content is awesome and super informative!
Couldn’t agree more on that 5th guide. I’m an aspiring photographer and I have taken many shots on every setting and for every 10 or 20 shots only either 1 or 2 would come out as a good shot 😂 Nice content amigo.
Loooooove this video. We all make mistakes. Yes we do! Every shoot is a lesson. Thank you for your work and your videos. I love you guys. Please keep them coming. Humbly learning
Manny, great advice. Other than studio work, where you can control almost everything but the model, it really is all about being in the right place at the right time. I feel it is only through experience gained from practice that we can be better prepared for that one moment out of a thousand when everything is perfect.
Steven Kamradt Those folks who own or work in studio setting are blessd. No cops no wind no random dudes saying to the gal hi cutie your hot, Ive observed some clips where the authorities came to kick photographer out or askd for the permit to shoot stuff. None of that ever happns in studio setting..
I always tell my Photographers friends that if the picture is bad, don’t say it out loud. I always show my clients a couple of their good shots so they see how they look and gain confidence. I love your stuff Manny.
Manny is Back ! Yeah ! Great Tips ! Thank You So Much for Another One Video That Helps With the Deamons in Head :D Thank You And have a Great Weekend !!
Hey Manny, I really like the advice on not hiding behind your camera and remember to communicating with your subject! Can you do a video all about the experience of communicating with your model during a shoot?
For sure letting the model do what they want. I'm working with better models and they have their own idea of how the shot should look, so they give me the freedom to work around it. Awesome content man
Glad you are back and feeling better! Great tips! I recently got into doing portraits and still learning! Your videos have been helping me out a ton! I’m mainly a car photographer, so it’s completely different!
Awesome! Thanks for this man - just stumbled upon your channel and I'm glad I did. A lot of channels / similar videos tend to recycle the same tips, but honestly there's a 5 genuinely helpful tips, some of which I'd never even thought of or considered (especially not visiting your favourite location first). Subscribed!
Thank you Manny! I'm gonna order the flashpoint xplor 600 just because of you and your tutorials. I use the Sony a7riii and you've taught me how important lighting is.. THANKS MANNY!! keep up the AWESOME work!!
Glad your doing well. Taking bad photos, I do and I know what u mean but do you get clients that say "oh, I thought you were a pro. They don't take bad photos" -_- annoying
Hey Manny, I love your content bro, soo clear to the point. But I got a request, could you do a video on a male subject? I just find it soo hard to compose shots for males than females. Would be nice to get some help on this bro. Thanks for the content. 👍🏽
This video is so simple but so awesome. these tips are so true ! Definitely agree with the location, the first pics are rarely the best ones but it's ok as long as you know it
Manny, thank you for posting videos and sharing your knowledge. I've been around the block a few times so I'm not brand new, but it's great for photographers with more experience to have these tips/ideas as reminders. Keep rocking!
Great video again man. Your advice is so honest and humbling. I am trying to make a start in the UK after 10 years away from photography. Feel like I'm black at square one. Keep up the videos!
Cheers Manny, awesome tips. I'm still discovering my style and what path I want to follow in photography. I enjoy watching your videos and listening to the advice you share. Keep up the awesome videos !!
Great to have you back manny! Awesome tips! Manny I think I remember you saying you wouldn't shoot any more weddings cause they were really stressful. Would you consider doing a wedding tutorial video for those of us that want to go into that genre of photography? 😊 bless!
Thank you for your content Manny! Not only is your work amazing, Iv only recently started following your channel and between your portrait tutorials and my new 85mm, in 3 months my portrait game has done a total 180. keep it up homie!
really enjoy watching your content mania. much love and respect to your progress. from NYC, currently in AZ, headed to MA this upcoming June for a few years. would love to link and shoot and learn and discuss. Keep the content coming!
Glad you're back among the Healthy Manny! I just had a great photo session when I traveled to Miami and did some Test Shooting w. these 2 Stellar models. I used a lot of your tips!! AND... looks like I'll have to add a few more on the next one! Thanks so much in advance...you rock! #the50yroldman
