A bunch of unnecessary features. I simply want a proximity bubble around my vehicle that will sound the horn after a 3-5 second delay if someone gets withing 1-2 feet and doesn't move away. No one makes a simple system like that. Everyone wants to force you to get remote start nonsense or other features that you don't need or that have nothing to do with deterring break ins.

I remember in the 90’s they had ones that when someone got too close it would say “please step away from the vehicle! You are too close!” That was cool.

Yeah, I like that feature ..Is there an alarm like that a simple feature only like alarming the parked vehicle when get bump by nearby vehicle or people.

Did not take long for all 5 of these car security systems to become out-of-date as of January 2024. However, still useful if you want a cheap and simple car security system that can be disabled quickly by a no longer novice but a beginner thief. The internet shows you or provides instructions on how to disarm those systems. Time for an update. Viper 5906V or Compustar CSXP 9900-AS with installation cost between $650 and $900 depending on the vehicle, auto push start or key, and transmission as manual cost a bit more. The best place to park your vehicle is in your garage with the door down. As said, Out of Sight, Out of Mind. What they don't see is less tempting.

A car alarm isn’t the end all be all of car security. It’s only one layer of security. Car alarms, even the best ones, have been easily bypassed well before 2024, including all of these listed. Everything you said was pointless. Especially the part about parking in a garage since that has always been the case. In short, no shit Sherlock. 🤦‍♂️

So my car was broken into and attempted stolen. Thank god for my crappy battery or else they would of took it. The dead battery saved it from theft but not vandalism. They tore the bottom of my steering wheel column off to try the "Kia Boyz" trick but like i said, the car couldnt start because of the battery. Cost me $2000 to be fixed. Kia is doing free antitheft upgrades to owners which i had installed. I still wanna get a better security system but i got my brake to steering wheel lock and a steering wheel lock with an alarm on it so thats ok for now. Its been a straight nightmare with these thefts of kias and Hyundai cars.

With the compustar, does it replace the oem key if you have a push to start? Or u always need to have both the oem fob and compustar fob

The oem fob is because The car comes with its own security system which you can disconnect if you want and install the aftermarket security system which is the compustar… or if you want you can have both systems on the vehicle.. it’ll work fine any way you
