You're SO right about the 'best part of Fast & Furious being the exit 🤣. I'm just super happy that the NY Scarezone isn't going be anything space/alien-related again...
The shoe thing can not be understated, especially if you do the parks as well during the day. I bought the ugliest hiking sandal things because they dry out on water rides and were supposed to be comfortable for long hours. I think my feet gave out around hour 16 which wasn’t too shabby! I make the fatal error of choosing style over comfort a lot but I’m glad I wore the weird footwear that day lol Also, no one is looking at your feet so always go comfort! You can always crop your feet out of pictures 😂
Comfort over fashion is always the right choice at HHN! At the theme parks period, really. If you're not comfortable, the entire day will be miserable!
Yay!~I'm so happy for your guys! The energy and excitement you have for the parks is already so prevalent ~ but feels even more so now that you are "living the dream" in sunny FLA. Enjoy & thanks for the fun videos! They always make me smile. :)
Thanks! Glad I came across this video. Coming for our first HHN last week of September this year. These tips will help us start planning our 2 nights of HHN! Thanks again.
Your tip from a previous video about mixing the frozen butter beer helped me a lot! Made waiting in line for Hagrid much more enjoyable(Hagrids is now my new favorite roller-coaster).
Haha that’s awesome! It’s crazy how much better the frozen is when you mix the topping in. Hagrid’s is great too! Especially when you have a butterbeer to keep you occupied in line!
I’m absolutely loving the videos leading up to Horror Night’s ! I’m so hype and can’t wait to see you all more often since you’ll be living in Orlando now ! I cannot wait 🎃👻
Your videos are so much more fun to watch when you get to film in the parks! Huge improvement over the at home studio. Hope to see it a lot more now that you're locals. I'm not even interested in HHN and I enjoyed this video just to sew the great night time park ambience. 😊
Thank you, Jennifer! We're really excited to be down here and able to visit the parks to film. Once we get settled, we'll still have some studio videos, but not nearly as many!
Hey guys, I haven't taken the time to welcome you to your new digs. I hope you're more than happy with your move to Florida. Looking forward to seeing more of you, and I'm hoping to run into you two next Feb. Congratulations.
Awe I'm sad to miss HHN this year but I will watch all of y'all's updates💜 Also this is how I found your channel last year. Congrats to being a Florida res🤠 Hope to run into y'all there sometime next year.
We're sorry you won't be here this year, but there's always next year! We'll definitely have a few videos from the event, too, so you have those to look forward to! lol
Thank you, Taylor! We thought it was appropriate for an HHN video. We love getting to play with the lighting and shooting videos in the dark this time of year!!
I'm a total wuss when it comes to scary stuff but you guys make HHN so exciting!! I would love to try HHN in the future. Meanwhile I'll live vicariously through you guys!! You guys are awesome!! 😁👍
Hey guys! Me again! Another helpful video in preparation for my trip next month... Think I've told you before 😂😂😂 I bought some Nike space hippie trainers for when I come and oh my god they are so so comfy. Would highly highly recommend them. They have no plastic or rubber to hurt your heals or bottom of your feet either. Love you guys so much and see you next month! ❤️❤️
Haha we’ll have to consider these when we purchase our next pair of park shoes! We’re glad you’re well prepared, though! Your trip will be here before you know it!!
Thank you so much, Julia! The content has been a little slower than normal because of the move, but we're trying to get back into the groove of things!
🎃Thank you for another great video! Definitely one of the best "parks youtubers"! HHN has been our favorite event for years & these tips are spot on! Hope to see yall in the fog!👻
SO happy to see classic Pugh Two even after you moved. info, tip, info, joke, tip, funny face, info, info , joke. A relief from the usual vloggers, "observe that this scaffold has a new bolt"
I’m brand new to your channel but I simply love you two! I’m going to HHN Orlando in September. I live in Los Angeles so unfortunately I only have one night at HHN and this helped me plan my night!!
I fanboyed out meeting you guys at Central Park Crepes. Thank you so much for doing what you do. I "snacked" for five days and everything you recommended was fantastic!!!
Was super excited to see them at the park for my birthday trip last week. They were super nice and talked to me even though I was geeking out a little bit lol. It made my Trip.
I've always loved the evenings in the parks. Some of my absolute favorite times were closing out at Disney at 3am. I'd be all in on a park that stayed open around the clock or only closed for a few hours to separate the evening/am goers from the morning/day goers.
Hey guys love your videos and thank you for your inspiration. Watching you and a few other people has inspired me to do my own channel. I even gave you a shout out and thank you in one of my videos. Thank you so much and keep up the awesome job.
Oh my gosh, that's so sweet! Congrats on starting your channel! We hope you have so much fun making videos, and we're so glad you've been enjoying ours!
We're so glad it helped! It's honestly insane how much you walk in the parks. We've literally hit 10k steps every day since we moved down here because of the parks! 😂
Omg yes please do make another video about stay and scream + whatever other helpful subjects to cover for this HHN... it is going to by the first time at HHN this October for me and my family🥳but I want to get it right😬 Also: Anna, your makeup looks awesome! cool colors 👁👁
We absolutely will! We're just waiting for some announcements to talk about where houses are and things like that. And thank you! You're too sweet! I was trying to go for a Halloween-esque vibe, but I felt a little unsure about it afterwards lol.
So excited for HHN this year! Last year, I didn't do a lot during the event because it was raining and we didn't really plan that well. Not bringing a change of shoes was not a great idea on my part lol! But I'm so prepared this year!
New subscriber but long time hhn person... I live out of state and only go to hhn once a year😢 lol in September and rush of fear is perfect to get your fix in for a week! Even though I'm not there for all of September it's still worth it!
@The Pugh Two and another trick I've learned. .. if you play Simpson games you can win Simpson toys cheap.... if you can tell people to wait on things like the horse race everyone will win...cheaper then buying doll in quicky lol
Just tell them to play by them self and not against anyone and you leave with a prize.... cheaper than quickie mart dolls and cheaper and more fun.... every year we win a kid a cool prize on this game lol.... just talk to the worker before you play
listening to z Knights Trek livestream on the asy to work. this, "There's the Pugh Two sitting on a bench by Finnegans hoping that The Mummy will open" 😂😂😂
I worked security last year for HHN 30 and it it very important to get in a lock-down area early because you will get escorted out of the park if you’re not in the designated area ahead of time. I would personally walk people to the best area to be locked down. In the New York area is best because you have Finnegan’s bar to access for drinks! Not get locked down in the Central Park area, you will be standing in the open sun with no shade. That the best tips I could give you! Looking forward to HHN 31!!! Stay hydrated!!!
Hi - Thanks for another great video! I wanted to ask you about the "Scareactor Dining Experience". I don't know if you've tried that yet, but I was thinking it might be an option for reducing the amount of time we spend standing in the Stay and Scream area. We have daytime tickets so we'll be in the park earlier in the day. I'm hoping that after dinner they release you into one of the Stay and Scream areas since it'll be after 5:00, but I haven't gotten confirmation of that. If it works like I hope, I'm thinking that instead of just standing in Stay and Scream for hours we can spend some of that time eating and then join into the waiting area. Does that sound right? I also wanted to ask if the Stay and Scream areas fill up. Do they reach a certain capacity and then turn people away? Thanks again.
Hi Mark! I believe Tyler has done the scare actor dining at some point, but I have no idea about how the early dining times work! That would be a great question to call and ask Universal. If so, that’d be a great plan, too! As far as capacity goes, in the past, they’ve opened up a third stay and scream area as overflow!
Great tips! I’ve been once and don’t plan to go again anytime soon. The crowds have gotten to a point where you need precise planning and strategies. Too much like work. 😊
I should of waited on buying the tickets, but I only would save a few $$$$ for multi-night in September. I was worried since had hotel, airfare was paranoid it would sell out.... But in this case it's $-$$ not $$$ I would of saved. Great advice here. Agree with this! Can't wait for HHN!
I have been there at the end of the night when even the most popular houses had a 15 minute wait. I’ve even had house attendants flag us down to encourage us to go through a house at the end of the night lol
I am way to much of a chicken to do HHN. I’ll be there in sept and going to not so scary in Disney instead. Maybe one day I’ll be brave. But until then I’ll just live through you and enjoy HHN through your vids.
Mickey's not so scary is so much fun!! Make sure you take a bag to hold all your candy! lol And we get it, HHN definitely isn't for everyone. We appreciate you watching, though!
Naps before HHN is a must. Also the shoe thing is a must, after living there and going to the parks so often a good broke in shoe is a must. So much that I'm breaking in my barefoot sandals and zero drop shoes for the long walking in December. Hope we see y'all under the Christmas lights.
We’ll absolutely be around! And we couldn’t agree more about the shoes. When we lived in TN we prepped by doing 10k steps a day on a treadmill to make sure our shoes were okay! Lol
@@ThePughTwosweet can't wait to meet y'all. that's super smart to do, I can start doing that as apart of my workout routine and just getting across campus for classes. Thanks for the tip lol
Thanks for ALL of the tips including Parts A and B that I will definitely be doing!!! One quick question…how much is an Uber/Lyft from airport to endless summer hotel and back?
About to take our first family trip universal this September and are thrilled to go! We have been binging your videos. So helpful! My son is 13 and has never been to a haunted house. Would these be too extreme for him?
That’s so exciting!! I personally wouldn’t take a kid that’s never experienced a haunted house to the event. It’s definitely an adult event, and it could get overwhelming. At the very least, he should see all the movies that the houses are based off of first!
Great video, since this will be our first time I'm sure this will be helpful and I haven't seen any other videos on you tube like it. Can resort guests at deluxes get into stay and scream from the hotel or do they need to go from the park?
Love watching all your videos! You have helped me plan 4 trips since April 2022 from Charlotte NC. We will be there for HHN the last week of sept so we will miss the rush of fear pass. We have tickets for the last wed sept 28. Do you think we would be better off buying express for that night or should we get tickets for Thursday sept 29 also and then have 2 nights to see everything?
Thank you so much, Trina! That's always such a hard choice, and it really depends on how willing you are to wait in line. If you don't mind standing around some, doing two nights and taking advantage of stay and scream is a good tactic. Then you don't put all your eggs in one basket in case it rains, too. Express is nice, though! lol
@@ThePughTwo thank you for the advice. I am booking an unmasking tour for Sunday sept 25th also. Any chance that you guys will be in us that day? Would love to meet you both!
No, it won’t! You have to have a daytime ticket to the parks or an annual pass to get into stay and scream. Stay and scream is just a holding area inside of Universal Studios so if you don’t have a ticket to get in during the day, you can access it.
Lol they're adding to the scarezones daily! We don't have the quickest turn around and we never will. Tyler puts too much effort into the editing, but we're okay with that!
universal California closes the park prior to opening for the horror nights. So you can't walk around and eat prior. Plus purchase front of line tickets.....very expensive but worth it if you don't want to spend all night waiting.
May I suggest do try entering a house where you can barely see what's happening at least once? The experience can be unpredictable and amazing! once I got stuck in a dark room full of fog and strobe lights and the most logical thing I could come up with to do was to yell for help... a TM led me by hand to the house's exit. It was fun. My cries for help would have beat Neve Campbell. HHN!
Lol, I think it depends on the person! I would've been an emotional mess if I had felt "trapped" in a house and couldn't find my way out. That's a great story, though!
My Indian Nickel as an old fogey who only has a finite amount of stamina: o The comfortable shoes bit cannot be stressed enough. If you come to the event with some old beaters or sandals, your entire body starting with your feet will be screaming at event close. Remember that you have to make the trek back to the parking garages, which is a helluva long walk after a tiring day at the park. o I know food is a big part of the event for a lot of people, but if you want to hit as many houses as possible and you can only visit HHN for one night and you don't have express or Scream Early, don't get suckered into a sit-down restaurant, as you'll then be bleeding valuable time. The food trucks should be okay, though, as you can eat while walking to the next house. o Stay hydrated. Guests can have refreshments while in line for houses, just not inside them. o The houses should be your primary reason for going, but you might also consider the live show, as it was pretty lit last year. It's also a great option if you need to just sit down for around 30 minutes while still taking advantage of what HHN has to offer. o Remember that the event is open longer on the weekends, but the attendance increases commensurately. If you're able (and willing) to burn through the event once inside while foregoing express, you should think about going on a weekday. o Consider carpooling and splitting the parking fee, which is now a hefty $27. Free after-hours parking does NOT apply during HHN. If you know for certain you'll be attending at least four or five times, the ultimate Frequent Fear pass is your best value since it includes parking. o Arrive as early as you can (within reason), get in line, and stay in line. If you purchased a Scream Early or some other non-general ticket, ask a park employee where you need to be so you don't wind-up wasting it (which is possible). o Prepare for inclement weather. It rained HARD last year at opening. o Buy any merchandise at the end of the event. You want to "go light" while gunning for the houses and anything else you'd like to do while inside. They often keep the main stores open a little longer after official park close. o If you have sensitive hearing, wear earplugs. Every inch of the park booms, as loudspeakers are generously littered throughout. And the houses themselves can become deafening. Consider it to be like a really long and really weird rock concert. o Some rides will remain operating. Do them at your peril since they can consume a lot of time. Getting in line for Rip Ride Rocket or Transformers might cost you a house if you don't have express. o Speaking of which, express or no express? Just depends on how much money you're willing to part with. Express will definitely get you through all the houses in one night, even during peak dates, but it >IS< possible to run through all 10 houses without express if you stay focused and keep your energies up. o Keep watching videos like this one, as event details can change at a moment's notice.
@@ThePughTwo You're welcome. I wish I had known about some of these aspects about HHN before attending my first one. Here are a few more: o Remember that you can upgrade to a higher-tier ticket before the event starts. For example, if you've purchased a single-night ticket and instead want to change it to a Rush of Fear one, just call Universal's guest relations line with your credit card ready and they'll happily make the alteration. o Certain peak dates do sell out, so plan accordingly. Rush of Fear and Frequent Fear passes guarantee you entry on their "active" dates, which makes them very enticing, particularly if you want to attend opening and closing nights. o If you exit the park with the intention of returning later the same day or night, you HAVE to bring your ticket with you (either your e-ticket or the paper variety) for rescan at the gate entrance. Speaking of which, having a backup paper copy is highly advisable in case your phone's battery dies. I remember getting my hand stamped with invisible ink at Disney, but those days are long gone. o There are two on-property parking garages. The first one you'll encounter is typically the one everyone and their cousin tries to get in, so it'll often be jam-packed. Consider driving a bit further and parking at the second garage, as I've found it to be a lot less crowded. There is no advantage at parking at the first garage, as both require walking the same distance to get to the gates. o If you plan to see the live show at the Fear Factor stage, don't fret too much about getting there early for a good seat. The stadium has pretty good eyelines no matter where you are. Of course, if you do want to sit as close to the stage as possible, you'll need to get in line early. o Speaking of the live show, if you're lucky enough to be at HHN on Halloween, make sure to see the very last show of the night, as the performers pull out all the stops and it becomes VERY emotional at final bow. Tears were freely flowing last year. o Due to contractual limitations with the Rowling estate, there is no HHN activity at Diagon Alley and the area operates as it normally does on any given day. The upside is that Gringotts stays open and there tends to be smaller lines. o Pace yourself, but don't dawdle. With 10 houses, 5 scare zones, and the live & lagoon show, there is a LOT to do and only a few hours to do them in. Listen to your body and take breaks when you need to, but don't let your energies go to waste by just standing around in some random area. o Once you're inside the park, I would strongly advise you to stay inside the park. If you return to your hotel room with the intent of chilling for a bit, not only are you sacrificing precious time going to and from, but you MIGHT fall asleep and not wake up until the next day. o Ensure you're in the right line, as express and standby have different queues. If you mistakenly get into an express line, employees will NOT take pity on you and you'll be forced to go to the back of the standby line. o Get the chilled Butterbeer at Diagon Alley, as it's fantastic.
We are doing the RIP tour at 6:30 on Sunday 9/11 and staying on site. Would you recommend going to the early HHN park admission area at 4:00 or rest our feet and go when our RIP tour starts? We plan on going to the park during the day. Thanks for all the great tips and entertaining videos!
I would wait and go when your RIP tour starts! If I'm not mistaken, I think you can get there early and enjoy food and drinks as part of your tour. If that's the case, get there as soon as you can to enjoy that! lol
If your RIP tour was at 7 or 7:30 I'd say def do stay & scream, so you can knock out 3 or 4 houses before the tour. There's been times where we go to the 2nd or 3rd house (after initial crowd rush) during stay & scream, and there's no line! So we get all the scares. But with a 6:30 tour you won't have much time and I don't think it'd be worth paying for stay and scream.
You know what's even cooler? Wear an eye patch that looks really cool. That's why pirates wear them for when they go below deck which is darker than on deck
Hi pugh two We have just purchased Premier annual passes for the first time and are coming over from the UK in middle of October until the middle of November for our annual holiday. I have couple of questions we know there is a pass holders lounge in universal studios but is there one in islands of adventure? Question 2 if we see you are you approachable or are you best left alone as we know you are actually working ( I may be bearing a gift ie butter beer lol) keep up the good work love the videos so much good information Sorry if this is the wrong place to post
Hi David! That’s so exciting! To answer your questions: 1. No, there isn’t a passholder lounge in Islands. 2. We’re always happy to say hello if you run into us! No need for any gifts! Lol we hope you have a fantastic time on your trip!!
I would like to ask a question, please! We are planning to visit Universal Studios on the Friday HHN begins. Would we have to exit Universal or do we have access to the Stay & Scream? I'm a bit confused and just wanted to clarify. Thank you!
If you're already in the park, you have access to stay and scream! You'll have to have your HHN ticket with you, though. They scan you into stay and scream like they would at the front gate just to verify your ticket.
IMO stay and scream (or scream early) is a much better deal than the express pass. Past HHN events I usually can go through at least 4 houses in that first hour and have even hit 7 within an hour. I buy the express passes on the weekends but honestly it really only cuts your wait time about half if they are busy. Better to go multiple days using stay and scream (or scream early) and hit the houses early and then just enjoy the scare zones, shows and food the rest of the night. I'm hoping they use Hogwarts as a stay and scream area this year as most of the other areas are in the sun.
Hi Micah. Wondering if I can ask you a question. My husband and I are old, 38 and 51, but pretty active. BUT there is no way we’re gonna last from 8am-2am. What time do you suggest going back to hotel for a nap? Then what time should we come back to park? I know stay and scream starts early.
@@allieandthenannergang8920 I'm 54 and stay all day and through the night until 2am :P But I have an 18 year old daughter I go with who isn't trying to sleep. I hear you though as most nights I'm asleep by 10pm. As mentioned before the scream early really is worth it for knocking out houses, we usually get in the stay and scream no later than 4pm and they let us out around 4:45 or as late as 5:30. Really it depends on how long it takes to get the people out of the park who don't have stay and scream. Last year we got to hit the houses at no later than 5pm which was great. (hour prior to park opening) I'd plan on being back at the park around 3:30 to make your way to the zones. If looking to nap I'd head back around 11 to 1:00 depending on how long you want ot nap. If money isn't an issue then getting the express pass for the houses Wed or Thur is worth it IMO, lines aren't that long either way but not many buy express passes for those days so that line is really fast. (about 5-10 minutes or less per house) Weekends last year we were still waiting about an hour per house even with the express pass with regular lines taking 2+ hours. If going at least 3 days you could skip the nap and do the stay and scream and knock out at least 5 houses by 7PM. The next days visit the ones you missed or want to see again. We usually get at least one day of the VIP day tour {group rate but usually only around 5 people per group) and I highly recommend that as well as you will get to see both parks and the best rides really quickly. Have only done the VIP HHN house tour once so far and you get to see a lot of the behind the scenes props and of course front of the line access for about half of the houses. It was good but not sure if I'll do the VIP HHN tour again.
@@allieandthenannergang8920 Forgot to mention we always go the 3rd week of Sep which is usually not quite as crazy as opening week or the end of Oct. We have to fly in so we usually stay for 5 days to fully enjoy the park. 3 days is perfect, the extra days are just that to explore more of what we already like. What I meant about buying the HHN express pass for the houses, you could go back and nap when the park closes and then come back at 8 or 9 (Wed/Thur) to hit all the houses in a few hours. Scare zones are more enjoyable at night anyways. I wouldn't try that for the weekend though as the stay and scream is a much better option. I usually spend between 4K to 5K for 5 days VIP/Express passes hotel and flights for HHN for 2 people. We only go to Universal for HHN so we don't have passes. If going twice or more to Universal per year look to get the annual pass as it's worth it then.
Is it only available to buy in the park? I saw in several articles it’s $30 but I couldn’t find it on the universal website, also do you need park access as well that day ?
You'll want to make sure you're back by 4:30 at the latest for stay and scream! I'd say head back between 1 and 2, and then start heading to the parks around 3:30-3:45!
Always ALWAYS Break in a new pair of shoes before theme parking. If you want to keep them new looking, wear them around the house for at least a few days.
any advice for doing a blend of day parks with HHN, 4 day/3 patk(p-p) and want to do a bit of everything. we will have 4 nights of HHN woth the rush of fear sept 15-18. also doing a volcano bay day.
