@@alexs_wrex no condensation at all after about a year now. Just make sure you use new headlight sealant when resealing. Expect it to be a full day of install
Depends on taste. I have a white 17 sti and I feel like it looks better in white with pre facelift front end. If it was black then yeah I’d go 18+. I used to have a 18 wrx I liked it but just depends on the color for me.
Surprisingly, swapping in the 2020 WRX Carplay headunit not only made the car more useful, but the audio quality drastically improved with no other changes to the audio system. I think it boils down to mainly the head unit
VA is the best looking WRX imho. I know a lot of the OG Subaru guys hate anything that’s made after 2014. But that’s just their stubborn nostalgia bias talking. It’s not even subjective. The VA is objectively a better looking car as it actually follows good design yes. Like besides the GC8, all the other WRX’s just look like a glorified econobox(well I guess that’s technically what they still are lmao). Btw if you’re at 60k I highly recommend to do a nice walnut blast. That’s when I did mine, and it’s such a peace of mind, and car literally drove and pulled like when I first got my WRX. I was actually enjoying driving my WRX again after walnut blasting. Btw even with catch cans/aos your valves are gonna be gunked.

I agree the stereo system sucks, but if you listen to alot of retrowave music it actually sounds time period correct and retro lol 😅 Only issue you'll probably run into is the stock battery.
My girlfriend has a pretty much stock 2016 WRX and I have a 2015 360whp upgraded turbo STI. She loves my car more. Has all the Cusco chassis mounts, driveline upgrades, stiff coils and equal headers.
If you are willing to spend a couple bucks get the idoing head unit, the kicker tweeters, and throw some subs and an amp in the trunk. It will fix your issues with the stereo system
There's three things that made me sell my 2016 WRX. Turbo lag, rev hang, and you can't make big power without a rebuild. I sold my WRX and got a 370z, added a super charger and now I'm sitting at 669HP all on stock internal
Nice 👍, that thing must be a rocket! Yea the WRX is not the best for big power. I didn't want to push the internals so I'm not pushing any crazy power. Still fun though. Heard the VB's with an ethanol tune can put down some decent power.
@@alexs_wrexmost people are already passed that “the new WRX is ugly” since they know the potential. I have a 2022 WRX and im only intake and tune on full e85 and this thing moves. I’m toe to toe with new gen SS and 5.0.
True, but then you can't make as quick of a gear change. But yea in normal driving conditions it's not a big deal. 1st to 2nd shifts felt better on the older gens though.
i think im getting a 2018 limted with a sti wing and body kit on it in rally blue. Its my actual dream car and I'm 3-7 days away from it. I find out tomorrow.
Congrats man! I originally wanted a World Rally Blue WRX, but this one popped up and was a better deal. If it has a body kit I'm assuming the owner added other mods. Make sure it's got a tune for all the performance mods if it has any, I'd ask them for a list of parts and who tuned it.
lol Harmon Kardon isn’t much better. I have an 18 limited and upgraded my whole audio system pretty early on. And contrary to popular belief. If you’re upgrading all your speakers, amps, and head unit the Harmon Kardon sound systems are actually easier to upgrade because all the speaker wires are in the rear where the OEM HK amp is. So makes for a clean install.
Yea, I see the new VB's more and more and the plastic fenders don't bother me as much anymore , it's mainly the rear bumper. Way too much plastic back there.
@@alexs_wrex I actually really like the rear end. The fenders bother me a little bit more but like I said before I got the white. It was cause I felt the black of the cladding contrasted well with the white but now that I see some of them paint matched, I really like how it turned out (AeroFlowDynamics wrx is the best example) Now I’m thinking about paint matching the flares and the rear bumper lol but even still I like the body styling.
If you go 8.5” width wheels, +35 offset. If you go 9.5” width, go +38. Doesn’t matter what the wheel diameter is for offset, 18s are good but 19s look better but ride a little rougher
@@jakeh.5014 Yup, rocking an 18x9.5 with a +38 offset. Tires are 255/35 R18. You can get a 265 tire on there too if you want it to look a little thicker or "filled in".
@@jakeh.5014 noice I picked up 18/9.5 +38 as per recommended by many people because of the flush look and don’t get me wrong I love it. But I sorta wish I went with the 18/8.5 +35. But I just paid em off about a month ago so I’m gonna stick with what I have Volk TE37’s Saga S Plus’s ain’t cheap retail lol.
Why would they remove the fog lights on the 18+….. It’s a rally car, just dumb to me. I like the bumper, just stupid that it’s just a plastic piece instead of lights
Yea idk, not sure why they removed them on the STI but the 18+ premium and limited WRX still have them. It is a weird decision though, they had to make a separate plastic cover for the WRX & STI 🤷
