@@sweetboy821 If it's an OTS tune +/-16 is considered normal. If it hits 20 but then drops back down I wouldn't worry too much, especially since it sounds like you have better values when driving. But I'd try two things first, clean the maf sensor by the Intake, and if you have a Cobb Big SF intake then check the filter placement. On the 15-21 wrx's it's important that the filter is 1 inch from the end of the pipe, if it's too far in or not far enough it can mess with your readings. I have a video on my channel going over the accessport and troubleshooting common issues like this.
@alexs_wrex that i did clean the maf sensor but is weird how this happen after i did the oil change and fill up with fresh gas plus new spark plugs and injection coil
lol stages. Stages are when new people don’t know anything about modifying cars 😂 Just list your mods. Like me saying in stage 1 with a 20g turbo, ets TMIC and killer b headers lol
I mean the first 2 stages are just the main routes people go with. And it's easy to understand for people who are just starting out with modding their car. They are the most common mods too. I don't even fall in the category of "stages" anymore. I have a bunch of extra mods.
It's actually been holding on well where I have it. Don't remember if I mentioned it in the video but I just mounted it to the bracket from the OEM intercooler that's on the passenger side. Perfect access from underneath when I'm changing my oil too.
i got rid of my stock bypass valve at like 20k miles because it leaked horribly, started to get these lil sqeauks that just reminded me of a leaking blow off valve just muffled
ive got the grimspeed inlet..did it with my ets intake and my grimspeed ebcs and a cobbs XFL recirc valve i beleive its called...next mod im goin to is the tmic, its gotta, i hate charge temps like that, mazda speed6 had one, had to go, just horrible for heat soak, theyre great as far as lag, not existent but one or two pulls and it starst to climb...i reallly like the way they designed the verticooler to sit the way it does becoz its not collecting all the rising heat right into the fins instead it can rise past the corem
Yea I'm happy with. It fits in their snuggly and you do notice a huge difference in intake temps. Even when the car is on but sitting in a one spot, those intake temps drop quickly once you get moving.
Lmao 😂, it's definitely one of the more annoying installs I've done, but it's worth it. Intake temps stay nice and cool now and no more heat soak even on hot days
The goal of this car is gas efficiency, you can’t have a V6 and get 46MPG, just not gonna happen. You’re gonna have to spend $50,000+ if you want to have electric AND fast
Sorry to hear about the WRX, may it rest in peace. I don't hate this car, I just expect something a little more performance oriented for the "Sport" trim.
Great video, I have a 2017 wrx, FBO. Cobb v3 accessport, cobb charge pipe, cobb boost control solenoid, top mount intercooler, cobb bpv, big sf intake, cobb turbo inlet, gesi cat back downpipe, axel back titanium exaust, e60 , and pro tuned by Cryotune performance. 306hp 306 wtq mustang dyno. On a dyno jet probably 340 for both. And the crank close to 400.
Enjoy it! I made a video listing the 5 things I like about this car too. It's not bad, I just don't think they should use the Sport badge with this one
What am I if I got a an air intake, catless downpipe, external waste gate, after market bov, front to back fuel swap with 1050cc injectors running stage 2 Cobb ots tune. Bc from what you saying I’m way higher than I thought which was a stage 2+ Edit: also have a grimspeed boost control solenoid so I don’t understand how mine runs if this is true
I mean the OTS tune will still let it run but it's not running at 100% , the ots tune isn't meant to handle all the other parts you have. I'd highly recommend getting a pro tune or etune. Your car will run a lot better and will probably make a lot more power.
Probably a stupid question but I have a tomei expreme cat back exhaust, a grimmspeed downpipe, no cats, a Cobb intake and a blow off valve but I’m pretty sure I’m still on stage 1, but I I have no idea what a reflash is or if I have installed it or not
Do you have an accessport? There's no off the shelf tune for the mods you have. I'd highly recommend getting an etune or pro tune. You will need an accessport though. The car will perform so much better, assuming it's still running a stock tune or stage 1 tune.
@@alexs_wrexyes I do have an accessport and rn the maps are ECU realtime and ECU reflash both of them say stage 1 91 v400 and my car has performed way better with them, but when I got the accessport I noticed after triple digits mph it takes way longer to speed up than it did without the tune so why might that be happening? Should I go to stage 2? If I have all the mods I need?
Didn't buy the car...you realize most people who review a car on RU-vid have not purchased it. I also made a video listing 5 things I do like about the car...
I made another video pointing out the 5 things I like about this car. It'd be perfectly fine if this was the standard Hybrid trim. But as the "sport" trim it's lacking compared to previous generations.
First thing I don’t like about it is it’s a hybrid. Get out of here with that crap. Don’t call an electric vehicle or a hybrid a sports car. It’s not. Sports cars run on gas and you actually hear them. Secondly, this is Lighty behind the Nissan Altima in terms of looks and style. Thirdly, Honda is WAY overpriced.
Awesome video and explanatioin, thanks Alex. I'm doing the full RockAuto 'brembo' upgrade to my 2020 WRX. Essentially its all 2017 STI brakes; calipers, rotors, upgraded pads, SS lines, and a fluid flush. My question is, should I flush the brakes last? First? I plan to upgrading also to DOT4 RBF600 from Motul as the car does see some track time. Thanks!
Glad you found the video helpful 👍. I would flush the brakes last. You'll have to fill your reservoir with new fluid anyway to fill the new brake lines. Doing it last will also make it easier to know when you're done. Once you start seeing that clean fluid coming out you know you're done. And tbh, unless the car has a ton of miles with the original brake fluid, it shouldn't be that dirty, so it should be fine to flush through the new lines. Good luck!
Don't like the 2024 exterior design. No chrome at all on the front. The lights seem thin. The rear is just a flat box. My 2022 Accord has an aggressive smokey chrome front, wide telescoping lights, rear not flat box. I am seeing more and more of them around my hometown. But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Yea, I see a lot of these now, but still not sold on the looks. Tbh I kinda like the look of the new 2024 Sonata, it's more bold and I love the rear tail lights.
I do like it too, just wish there was a more "sport" oriented version. I made a video listing 5 things I like too btw, so not just bashing on it for no reason. If this was just the regular Hybrid trim I think it would be fantastic.
I like them, they still look good. I did curb two of them slightly though. But better these than the real things. I haven't tracked the car though so I can't comment on how they perform on a track.
STAGE 1: I won't modify it STAGE 2: I will only modify it without voiding the warranty STAGE 3: Fuck the warranty STAGE 4: "Smiles per mile"-justification for more power STAGE 5: (years later) How to prove to your significant other that it's a "family car" This was how it was for me. Totally worth it. A pro tune is ALWAYS better than an OTS. OTS to me is just to get you to the dyno imo. Although when I went STAGE 5 I ended up getting a Jeep Grand Cherokee as a family car lol.
