Hi Steve, and thank you for sharing. Is there a maximum length of ethernet cable for the mesh devices? I'm getting one of the TP-Link mesh Wi-Fi systems and I would like to set them up using cable. Also, what type of cable do you recommend?

Hi, thanks for the video, but I don’t have access to the router. I travel around the country in an RV and work out of the RV. Most parks have very poor signal, and sometimes my hotspot signal is also not usable. What do you recommend? Thank You!🌷

What difference does it make if the DNS server tracking my searches/sites/usage is my ISP vs. Google or Cloudflare? Aren't all 3 of them going to collect my data and sell it?

Hi Steve. Hope all is well. Excellent and enjoyable video as always. I have watched a few in your series, but have honestly not watched them all yet. While I truly love all this tech, I am not so tech savvy, so my questions are very basic, although you might have already answered these questions in another video in this series. If so, I apologize and will appreciate it if you could just point me to the right video. Anyway, I have the wireless modem that xfinity supplied to me 4 years ago. Can I play (should I?) with settings on their modem? And, if I can't, can I just add a mesh system to improve speeds, or am I stuck with whatever I am getting from xfinity. Honestly, I really can't complain too much about speeds because it is just my wife and I and our various gadgets plus the 20 wifi cameras (hahaha) that are not continuously recording, and a video doorbell. I also currently have a 2 unit Orbi mesh system that's about 6 years old. So I don't feel an urge to make changes, but think I might want to upgrade soon. Thank you as always!

You can make changes to your ISP supplied router, it's no big deal, just don't make any changes to the WAN/Internet settings, that's how the router connects to your ISP and you may lose connection if you mess with those settings. That said, if you do mess something up just do a factory reset and it will restore it to the settings it came with. At the very least you should change the login password. You can definitely add a mesh system but it sounds like you have already if you're using your Orbi system. The Orbi is old tech if it's 6yo but it sounds like it will be handling your needs fine, if it is there's really not much to be gained by upgrading. If you're finding there's times where things are slowing down then it might pay to look at finding the bottleneck and upgrading that.

Because they have virtual monopoly and get away with all sorts scamming, slowing running bunch off weak devices in apartments, lying! Charging outrageous, they up price and assume just autopay, ignorant. They are thieves like all monopolies unconstitutional. Scrapped with stolen federal reserve act when became debt bondage slaves in usury, legal theft. Beginning of federal taxation, more bank theft, by usual.

I’m purchasing the TP Deco XE75 and wondering if I set up the two XE75 as AP on the Xfinity XB7 gateway still using the gateway as my router, will I be getting the same performance from the XE75 as I would get by putting the gateway in bridge mode?

Paul Grice I had the worst experience with mine too, so I went with Netgear’s mesh system and it worked a little better but still drops out like crazy!! I think this whole “Mesh” thing they are pushing is 💩!!
