another way you can soften butter is by defrosting it in the microwave! hope this helps anyone who has tried and failed these ways.. i get it

I microwave refrigerator butter for 30 sec on 30% power, flip then 30 sec on 30% power again! Perfectly softened butter!!!

Could you grate in processor?

I just put mine in the oven and turn on the light.
