You know before khmer rouge , Cambodian is rich and clean, Cambodia start develop 1998 after Pol Pot die, now develop 28 year. And Thailand develop 130 year after Franco-Siam war.
BS Thailand was more develop than Claimbodia an anytime I remind you that Claimbodia was Thai colony before Thai had to give it to France and all the culture that Claimbodia currently have are all from the period under Thai rule
Everyone has to go through the "tourist" phase. Once you commit to staying somewhere longer than the usual tourist, and put yourself in a "do as the romans do" mindset... it's surprising how easy it becomes.
I noticed you did not mention language in your video. I live in the Philippines, speaking English was a huge factor in my decision to live here. In Cambodia is English widely spoken or understood? Do you find the language barrier so small it's not worth mentioning? Thanks for your great videos and I enjoy watching them.
good video. I feel the same when I was in china also. constant noise pollution and there was even worse on air pollution than Cambodia. great video bro. see you in a month or so. heading back to Cambodia soon.
Haha Cambodians and thais LOVE noise . Infact they leave their TVs on when they sleep. Thais are pioneers of having a tv on maximum volume while they play on their phone or just leave the room. Lights, fan and tv always on at the bare minimum at to that yelling, hooting, hollaring and shreiking at all hours
Hi Tom, great video cool shades. I have a question, can one still find teaching jobs placement through the summer holidays ie May/June/ July 2025. Regards
@@BalSingh-z4l yes you can - but it is also true that its not the most abundant time. Or they may be hiring during the summer to start in Sept. - BUT for example when I was hired 2.5 years ago it was like mid April. -- July could be tough because they would’ve already established their summer school, and may not hire untill end of summer. -- you can never predict these things though. Teachers just leave all the time, or find better jobs and then openings get created
I’m not criticizing Cambodia! - I love it here. It’s The best place I’ve ever lived. I’m just pointing out reasons why other foreigners said they couldn’t live here in the big city. Many move away to Siem Reap. Sometimes viewers criticize me for not being fully truthful if I ONLY talk about how great it is. - also I have over 500 videos and this is the only one that’s close to being negative.
@@1wordsnst27sdkai I did a TEFL course with AVSE. They have a 4 week program in the country - and coming out of it they help you get a job. Link in the description. If you go for it, mention Tom Trips Out
@@Gweilo60 yea good points. Especially to keep people watching the whole video. - I’m sort of too sincere of a person to put on an act for the camera. I’m just myself. But spicing it up or asking locals questions would absolutely make it more engaging. - thank you for watching 🙏
@@TomTripsOut Take off the glasses and look people in the eye when you talk goes a long way. Be Passionate about what you are saying and don't just take a stance take a side. It brings people to you rather than pushing them away.
contradicted your whole video. 'just dont notice it after a while'. this is the same for anywhere in the world. No mention of how hot it is, no frame of reference.
@@sakada2765 there’s air pollution everywhere in hundreds of countries. Nobody said there wasn’t. People who have problems with it and the other points usually move just outside the city or choose to live in smaller towns
I am not sure about your intention to make this propaganda video against Cambodia. For sure, every developing country has this part even in the developed countries. If you truely come to visit Cambodia, there are a lot of good things you can visit like islands, Angkor Wat, and luxurious places in Phnom Penh.
@@sakda8428 what are you talking about? I’ve lived here over 3 years and I love Cambodia. I’m not saying anything against Cambodia. My channel is here to help bring new expats and show what an amazing country it is - I’m just listing some points why some people don’t like living in the big city, and choose to live in Siem Reap or Kampot instead. It’s all just facts. I’ve seen foreigners move away for these reasons. I have over 500 videos on many great places in Cambodia including Angkor wat and the islands and much more. I’ve had people complain in the past that I only show all the positive aspects and they’d like to see some truth before they come here. To know if it would be right for them or not. ❤️🇰🇭
@@TomTripsOut thanks for your explanation, but your video title seems to hurt Cambodian feeling especially those who live in Phnom Penh. It sounds a judgement that you assume such things as reasons expats don’t want to live in Phnom Penh and the cross mark on independence monument looks not respectable to Cambodian people. Hope you understand the feeling.
@@sakda8428 ah ok I understand, I’m sorry if It seems offensive. Also, thank you for watching my videos 🙏 if you go explore my channel you will see I never usually say anything negative in any video. Also If you ask people in Siem Reap and Kampot, they would say they’d never live in PP. mostly because of the points I listed in the video.
@@TomTripsOut you are too generic. I don’t believe all expats including you and affluent Cambodians go to live there and with something you mentioned. They will wish to live in the good areas in Phnom Penh like Koh Pich, Toul Kork, Camko City as those areas are quiet and luxurious. Please ask people there, they also don’t want to live there but because they are unfortunate. So, from my perspective, by showing this small part, it will have negative impact to their feeling.
100% all food products & then pick & choose anything else, usually if I'm looking for something to last a long time, I'll give them a miss, if it's disposable I go for their shit. But no way anything that goes in or on me or my loved ones, they have no regard for any life, only money, thanks to the Communist Moral Decay.
