1. Builds Upper Body Strength
The overhead press isn’t just for shoulders-it builds total upper body strength. It engages your shoulders, triceps, upper chest, and core, making it a great exercise for overall power and stability.
2. Full Shoulder Activation
This exercise hits all three heads of the shoulder-anterior, lateral, and posterior deltoids-giving you balanced muscle development and better-rounded shoulders. You can’t beat the level of shoulder activation you get from pressing overhead.

The overhead press has huge carryover to real-life movements, from lifting objects overhead to improving posture and upper body stability. It strengthens muscles you use every day, making it highly functional.
