🔴What do you think about the price of the 2024 Ford Maverick?🤔 🏆9 Reasons Why Subaru BRAT is Worth the Wait ! WATCH HERE 👉ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2nQBqn8ajQY.html
This analysis completely ignores the purpose of the Maverick. It’s a hybrid UTE. Quit trying to compare a cat to a dog. People who want a dog will buy an F150.
I agree with many of these points, particularly the part on quality. I've had two Mavericks, a first model year 2022 Lariat and currently a 2024 Lariat FX4. The difference between the two is actually pretty significant despite no change in overall design. It's the little things they've improved on. Things such as the sun visors, center console lid and gear shifter all feel notchier and have more heft than the first one. Also, the foam pads in the front door jambs to mute out engine noise that were missing entirely on the first one. The doors feel heavier. The leather wrapped steering wheel is made of a silky smooth and better feeling material than the first which was more textured. Speaking of the steering wheel, my first one had a creaking noise when making right turns which always bothered me. It did that since new. I never took it to the dealer since it wasn't worth diagnosing and didn't cause a driveability issue. Plus they would've told me they don't hear anything or it's normal. Doesn't exist on the new one. Being the third model year there shouldn't be any recalls which plagued my first one. It had defective roof moldings that were replaced, the inevitable airbag recall, and just before trading in it got the faulty brake light recall that doesn't notify in the gauge cluster if one of the rear lights is burnt out. It was a great truck overall but it wouldn't be without some drama along the way. I hope my '24 will be a lot more trouble free. I will say even though the new ones have improved, there is one area that I'm disappointed with. The upper dash speaker grille and sunglasses holder have warped panel gaps that didn't exist on the first one. It should be a clean, consistent line but they both have a very inconsistent one that's easily noticeable and affects newer builds. I was just at my dealership looking at other Mavericks and Bronco Sports to see if they have it as well and sure enough, they do. Not all of them though, just here and there. That I'm not too happy with but I still don't regret getting a '24. Everything else about it is far superior than the first.
My 2024 XLT Hybrid is being built next week. I appreciate your comments on the 2024 being somewhat improved, as I have been a little concerned about some of the things you mentioned. Thanks!
The reason the Maverick was insanely popular is because of the standard hybrid power train . The change to the EB as standard is because they can't make enough hybrids. So totally disagree on that point. The standard hybrid was why I bought one.
I have a 2023 Maverick XLT Hybrid. It's an excellent vehicle! Shifts between the ICE and Hybrid system seamlessly and I routinely average 45-55mpg for my localish trips. The roundtrip to my vet is about 44 miles and mostly highway miles (55mph). I usually average around 45mpg for the trip routinely running on battery power for about 8-9 miles of the trip. AWD with the Hybrid would have been nice but I've never had AWD in my other vehicles so I can live a few more years without it. It's not the truck for everyone, but this is seriously the first Truck that could be considered a good commuter vehicle.
@@droolguy Where would the used cars come from? A base model, at the right price, and kept for a long time, can be a smart way to purchase a depreciating asset, if it's reliable and it's depreciation is low. For some, an older vehicle, that might soon need major repairs, and down time, is not an option. Small businesses keep new vehicles for set mileages, to prevent major repairs. Certainly over-paying beyond MSRP, while paying high interest is just stupid, I agree. We wanted to buy a $23K Maverick for our son, then keep it as a second family vehicle if he out-grew it. They wanted $31K, so we walked and bought a 2005 vehicle. Their loss.
Bluntly, people want the hybrid, as demand was twice what Ford expected. Making the hybrid a pay for upgrade reflects that demand, giving the Mav with the standard non hybrid motor is a DOWNGRADE, not an improvement. This video is wrong, as well as claiming dealer markups are going to end, by no means are these sitting on lots, I have yet to find any dealer in Western PA that has one. Also, the hybrid has jumped in cost immensely, I hesitated to order one in 22, my 23 order is now 16 months long. My truck, a 24 would have cost me 26K if it isn't for a 2k rebate I'm supposed to get upon purchase. As for towing capacity, who cares? Most hybrid buyers want one thing, and that's the 40 to 50 mpg results people are seeing in the real world. Anyone serious about towing isn't buying the smallest truck in the lineup, they are using F150s or bigger. Further, the Mav is going to hurt Ranger sales, because most folks are using both for daily drivers, and not as work trucks. Also, this truck is still larger than both the 80s and 90s S10 or Ranger, which I also owned. Mine is replacing my 2500HD, and daily driver, a KIA Soul, my fuel costs should be cut by more than half, as the 2500 gets 10mpg, and the Soul 25mpg.
First problems in production is drinking and drugs in mexico, next problem no parts from mexico long waits, next problem rust and cheap parts, next problem poor interor and it looks cheap and rattles. Lots of luck Ford, three small trucks on the way.UGH
There are a couple holes in this video. The airbag recall wasn't because of malfunctioning airbags, the response time requirements for airbags updated and the brand of airbags Ford was installing fell under that threshold. Also early on in the video he mentions the hybrid version of the Maverick having lower tow and payload capacity, but the hybrid model has the same payload capacity as the EcoBoost. I'm not really sure why Chase mentions the non-hybrid engine being the base model as a positive either. One of the reasons for the supply issues in the 2021 and 2022 models had to do with considerably more people wanting the hybrid versions of the Maverick than Ford had anticipated. Anyways, I got a 2021 hybrid model, and I absolutely love it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed Ford doesn't completely screw up the Maverick as it makes changes. A plug in hybrid with AWD would be an absolute game changer!
@@BigKWS Depends on the type of driving you do. In my case I'm mostly in city, so I'm sitting at about 42-43 MPG most of the year. It does dip quite a bit in the winter time if you live in a colder area. If the temp is below like 10 or 15 Fahrenheit, then the electric motor won't kick on unless the car has been running for a good hour or so. So in the wintertime my MPGs dip to about 36-38 MPG.
Dude looks to want an excuse to push out content from the looks of it as most bulletpoints are irrelevant as there haven't been any changes to the truck besides starting price
Haven't gotten into the video but that hybrid point is dead on. I was going to shoot for the 2022 becaus a small hybrid pickup sounded amazing. Sold out and wasn't the best financial move and was extremely miffed to see them change the later years to have the hybrid be the EXTRA charge and not the default. They were supposed to have AWD hybrid on the 2023 (at least rumoured) so its also odd that never came to fruition.
Ford had a chance to saturate the Maverick type size of truck so when the of manufactures come out with a smaller truck everyone would have already had a Maverick. Instead Ford played games with the production of the Maverick
have to agree, have a XLT hybrid 23 and absolutely love it. lol, granted I drive Atlanta highways everyday so the hybrid motor is utilized incredibly well.
Yea I have a '24 on order but another dealership close by randomly had a '23 show up new with everything I wanted and more for $1k cheaper... Don't really see any advantage of sticking with a '24
Dealership called me and told me my ‘24 was ready for pickup. I placed an order for a ‘22 and waited over two years for this. $31k out the door with all fees for an XL with tow package. Simply not worth it for how compact a truck it is. Seems a basic hybrid is the only one that makes sense, but you’d still have to get another truck for towing anything over 3k pounds
@@taylorb7191The price was msrp for ‘24. With the tow package, AWD, blind spot, delivery/dealer fees it’s not an unreasonable price. I think the maverick would be best as a hybrid for weekend trips to HD and buy a heavy duty truck for towing purposes.
@@DJ-vi9gu it does make sense to me, I like the extra power and style of the Tremor and I don’t need to tow. Everyone has different wants and needs just saying
I hate fords. The only ford I wouldn't mind having was the ford flex. But this Ford Maverick... I would be delighted to have a hybrid or plug in hybrid pickup truck. I've never owned or wanted a pickup truck until now. I'm more of a Chevy guy but this truck was an awesome move on Fords part.
I bout a 2023 xl off the lot with a $1,000 mark up I went to order a 2024 but they had one maverick on the lot so I didn’t want to wait so I paid the mark up. So far I love it I’m getting 48 mpg never got that I. My life so I should be saving at least $1,200 a year on gas
I own a 2006 Expedition. I have already replaced the transmission. The paint is peeling. The interior is showing age. I've had an engine light for an O2 sensor for ten years that costs a small fortune to fix, but not really a mandatory fix so didn’t sink more money into it. Also the running board rusted away and had to be replaced 5 years ago. Bottom line is that Ford doesn’t have a good track record when it comes to reliability. My next truck will probably be made in Japan.
Am with you on that… would love to get a Maverick but my concern is ? Do will last at least 300K to 500K miles with no major issues? … I have a 2015 Frontier Pro4X with no major issues and already with over 120K miles… the only problem is I get no more than 14mpg in city & 16mpg in hwy…
This thing cost so much now and never did hit the market the way it was intended a vehicle most could afford low cost. You might as well go back to the Rangers, This one is great but the pricing is nothing but robbery and corruption. No real difference in price between the two anymore
HEY!! Guess What? I was browsing my local dealers inventory to see if maybe kinda what if they might sorta have a secondhand Mav in stock that some customer had fallen out of love with and discovered they had a 2024 Mav TREMOR XLT in bound !! SAY WHAT?!?!?!?! I called and found that truck had yet to be spoken for SO I put a deposit on it and that truck will be mine when it arrives in a few days. Y'know, my BIL ordered a 2022 model and had to wait 2 YEARS for it!! He just got it 4 or 6mo ago so I have been discouraged in ordering one. My dream come true would be a MAVERICK LIGHTNING but who knows when those will arrive. The PHEV model will no doubt come first as the Ranger PHEV will be here next spring. !
22 to 24 has 6k diff in price on xlt......way to destroy a great selling truck. Funny dealers offering crap trade in trying to steal your used model. Tried Ford but looks like I'm done forever.
I saw the Maverick in a Friendly’s parking lot, I did not know they actually existed, I was impressed, I like the new Ranger also, I have a 2005 Ford Ranger, my ex GF had a Maverick when they were sedans. Unfortunately, both are out of my pay grade, but, if I could, I would compare the 2 and pick one, damn!
Depending on model and Canadian dollar inflation, that's believable. Folks have noted 10k dealer markups in the US. I still see folks selling 22s for more than the original cost.
All these new "trucks" are not trucks. They are suv's with a tiny worthless box. We need to classify what a real truck is in that it has to have a standard cab with an 8ft box period. Anything different should have a different name and classification. Cafe standards need to be changed for trucks so they are not forced to meet higher passenger capacity to be profitable for manufacturers to make.
My 2024 hybrid is waiting for me at the dealership for msrp, you gotta buy one when the order bank opens and coordinate with the dealership you choose, I researched dealerships that don't markup vehicles and now I'm getting it for msrp. Do your homework or complain 🤷♂️
@@dukewydercorporation7216 Ignore him. I have a 2022 Maverick EB-FWD that was purchased without so much as a test drive. It has been a STEALLAR vehicle for being an unknown factor. No regrets here. Getting better MPG than advertised here: 27-28mpg city/30-33 highway, and without the 4k tow package can still pull comfortably and get 18mpg. Suck it, Tacoma!
